This becomes a phenomenon that could result in the loss of local architectural knowledge, and the loss of cultural values as it is especially the case in the traditional house of Sade village. In an effort to explore the condition, this study on typology of traditional house, especially traditional house of Bale Tani in Sade village, Lombok, West Nusa Tenggara was conducted. In addition to socio- cultural factors, there are other factors that also affect the variety types of its forms such as climate, technology, land selection, availability of materials and construction method. </span></p><p><span>The research used qualitative method with naturalistic approach supported by literature and comparative study. The result of the research indicates that there has been a transformation process in the form of traditional house of Bale Tani but it is not dominant (it does not affect the visual form as a whole), it has slow progress (it happens within the long time span) and it happens on some parts/elements of Bale Tani only. As a country which has hundreds of tribes, Indonesia has hundreds of traditional architecture designed by the ancestors to fulfill the function as well as responding to natural context. The aim of this research is to find out how the structural and building system traditional architecture in this country respond its natural conditions as the context. The method used is qualitative descriptive with the analysis of some traditional architecture which have been visited and conducted a theory review. The results showed that the traditional architecture in Indonesia had been designed to respond to nature as context. The aim of this paper is to reveal the problematic aspects in terms of the use of underground space by conducting qualitative data in term of interviewing experts and official staff of five local governments’ i.e.: Jakarta, Bandung, Surabaya, Makassar, and Medan. The various functions of street space in generally are as a mode of transporting space, as shared space for citizens and also as an architectural expression of spaces that contain the collective memory of its citizens. This research is focusing on the uniqueness of the street networks and canals in the city of Banjarmasin. Further, exploration of the combination of streets and canals is done </span>to get the spatial characteristics.</p></div></div></div><div class=\"section\"><div class=\"layoutArea\"><div class=\"column\"><p><span>The purpose of this research is to determine how and why the street spaces changed and what components have influenced the characteristics of the space in the city of Banjarmasin. This research uses an empirism paradigm with the case study method focusing on the corridor of Jalan Veteran. The analytical method used is to discover street spaces in both two (2) and three (3) dimensional perspectives. Simplification and categorization patterns conducted to reveal the main characteristics of the </span>street spaces.</p></div></div></div><div class=\"section\"><div class=\"layoutArea\"><div class=\"column\"><p><span>The findings of the study show that the formal and informal characters of each street space influence the growth rate of the buildings, the changing face of the region, and the shift of the old buildings into the new ones. Double canals are known as formal characteristic and single canals are known as informal ones. The experiences and understanding tend to be subjective, yet there is a real manifestation. This study aims to explain the concept of sacred-profane on room arrangement of heirloom houses at Mandailing society. This rationalistic study has been conducted in a descriptive-explorative way of using sacred-profane theory. The result shows that the room arrangement on heirloom houses of Mandailing society retain one space that is persistently existed, although the house is continued to grow, i.e., “Pantar Tonga” (middle room as living room). The room has become a universal pillar or axis mundi as well as sacred object. By this research, it was found that Omah Dudur is considered as a manifestation of universe of human, god and nature as well as a pusaka (heirlooms). It is believed that interrelation among the three universes will influence to the successes and failures of occupant’s life. As a pusaka, which is perceived to have the power and strength of wahyu (metaphysical spirit), the omah dudur spiritually should be served by a regular sacred ritual and offerings. Methodologically, this research implies Husserl’s paradigm phenomenology (1965) with the naturalistic framework of Egon G Lincoln and Guba (1985). The result of study is hopefully contributed to the development of local knowledge of Javanese architecture typology. This study aimed to communicate research result on the influence of micro climate aspects to both mentioned architectural types.Descriptive-analitic approach applied in this article is to identify the differencies between the features of minimalist landed houses (Harmonia and Bellarosa Clusters) and vernacular stilt house (Kampung Naga) components which are influenced by micro climate aspects. Following the migration to the dry lands, the Chinese community implemented different forms of adaptation to the natural and socio-cultural environment to survive on the Musi Riverside, including in the form of residential architectures. This research is a case study, aiming to explore, examine and discuss the process of environmental adaptation and the different aspects that affect the residential architectures on the Musi Riverside.
