The sample Registration System (SRS) produces an overview of the causes of death nationally including a description of the causes of death due to accidents. The purpose of this study is to analyze the causes of death due to accidents based on the characteristics of age, sex, place of death, and type of accident. Subjects and Method: A cross-sectional was selected to be this study design. The SRS sample selection method is Probability Proportional to Size (PPS) using the 2008 Potential Village (PODES) survey data. SRS was conducted in 128 sub-districts spread over 119 districts / cities and in 30 provinces in Indonesia. SRS data are collected annually (January 1 to December 31), and the analyzed SRS data are 2014-2016. The cause of death was determined based on a questionnaire from the results of a verbal autopsy interview by the health center health worker to the family of the deceased. Determination of the cause of death by trained health center doctors according to the standards in ICD-10. The data were descriptively described. Results: Transportation accidents were included in the top 10 causes of death. Most deaths occurred among adolescents aged 15-19 years. Mortality in men was higher than in women. Most of the deaths occurred in the hospital, followed by other places and on the way to the hospital / health facility. The most types of accidents were traffic accidents on motorbikes, pedestrians, and car accidents. Conclusion: This study provides information to stakeholders to prioritize policies in an effort to reduce the incidence of traffic accidents, injuries, and deaths due to accidents in Indonesia. Relevant agencies need immediate and comprehensive handling.","PeriodicalId":130555,"journal":{"name":"Childhood Stunting, Wasting, and Obesity, as the Critical Global Health Issues: Forging Cross-Sectoral Solutions","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-11-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128658449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study aimed to determine the difference in acceptability and level of preference between modified and standard supplementary feeding in undernourished toddlers at Janti Community Health Center, Malang, East Java. Subjects and Method: A quasi-experimental study with one group pretest-posttest design was conducted at Janti Community Health Center, Malang, East Java, in July 2019. A sample of 16 under-five malnourished children aged 12-59 months was selected by purposive sampling. The dependent variables were acceptability and the level of preference of under-five malnourished children. The level of preference was categorized into taste, texture, color, and aroma. The independent variables were standard (biscuit) and modified (chocolate ball and chocolate pudding) supplementary feedings. The data were collected by questionnaires. The data were analyzed by Kruskal Wallis. Results: The highest level of acceptance obtained in chocolate ball, followed by chocolate pudding and standard biscuit, and it was not statistically significant (p= 0.112). The highest preference for taste was chocolate ball, followed by standard biscuit and chocolate pudding, and it was statistically significant (p= 0.022). During this postpartum period, almost all mothers also breastfeed their babies. The process of restoring the body health after childbirth along with caring for the baby often leaves the mother physically and psychologically exhausted. So many mothers cannot provide exclusive breastfeeding. This is where the husband’s role is very important to provide support to the mother. This study aimed to analyze the influence husband’s role on the mother’s interest in giving exclusive breastfeeding. Subjects and Method: A cross-sectional study was conducted for 2 months on 46 postpartum mothers. This study conducted in Wonokromo, Surabaya, in 2020. The independent variable was the husband’s role and the dependent variable was the mother’s interest in giving exclusive breastfeeding. The data were collected using questionnaires and analyzed using Chi Square test. Results: The results showed that out of 21 (57.14%) mothers who had less husband’s role, most had a low interest in giving exclusive breastfeeding. Of the 25 mothers who have a good husband’s role, almost all (92%) have a high interest in exclusive breastfeeding (p< 0.001), and it was statistically significant.
