A CDPR is actuated by polymer cables connected to an end-effector. However, the polymer cables for CDPRs have complex non-linear characteristics including structural elongation, hysteresis, and dynamic creep. These characteristics of the cables cause the non-linearly change of cable length, which makes the position error of the end-effector. In this research, we propose a nonlinear dynamic model based on the viscoelastic cable dynamic model to describe dynamic creep behaviors. The dynamic model is easily integrated with a scheme position control to increase the accuracy by compensating errors by cable elongation.","PeriodicalId":130143,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Eurasia Conference on IOT, Communication and Engineering (ECICE)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115668361","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Thus, we developed an application called APP for tool-life management and damage detection to help operators control the timing of tool replacement and avoid time-delays and loss after damage to the product. The proposed system consists of two sub-systems: an electronic system (to capture signals) and a software system (APP). The electronic system has an accelerometer, a signal capture card, a current sensor, and a temperature sensor. The software system has operating interfaces, data visualization, and early warning systems. The principal component analysis uses a linear combination with the largest variance. The eigenvalues and eigenvectors can be obtained by drawing a slope diagram of the number of principal components by eigenvalues. The point when the slope changes significantly can be used as the selected monitoring characteristic parameter. To reduce the manpower required for follow-up processing, the proposed system can be combined with different controllers to achieve customized parameter adjustment. Unmanned control can ensure processing efficiency and quality.","PeriodicalId":130143,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Eurasia Conference on IOT, Communication and Engineering (ECICE)","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129680389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We develop an entertainment-education Unity3D game connected to an electric puller with moisture absorption and scraping function which promotes knee maintenance. The fun of the game encourages users to learn more about the knowledge of knee-joint maintenance. We investigate a group of middle-aged and elderly people for over 2 months during which the activities of knee-joint maintenance were integrated into the four modes of the game: massage, cave-finger pressure, slapping, and cupping therapy. The empirical research together with Logistic Regression analysis shows that the effects of all of the four game-modes are statistically significant. In particular, 64.91% of the participants reduced their knee pain. This proves that the game of knee maintenance relieves the pain. A further upgrade of the fun and entertainment of our games is expected to receive attention from more users and consequently to benefit many more patients.","PeriodicalId":130143,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Eurasia Conference on IOT, Communication and Engineering (ECICE)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126984405","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The rapid growth promotes the development of various robots for our life. For example, the huge labor work may be replaced with a robot in the catering industry. During the process, we observe if some routine jobs can be performed by a robot instead of people, then the performance can be improved and the cost can be saved. Especially, the meal delivery is a typical example that can be replaced by a robot. As a result, we address this issue by designing and implementing a meal delivery system. In contrast to existing meal delivery systems, our system allows consumers to take their own meals without waiters. In order to make our system user friendly, AGV (Automatic Guided Vehicle) and a robotic arm assembled by us are integrated to develop this system.In order to achieve the goal mentioned above, we aim at proposing a novel approach for the proposed system for the following stages. First, we try to construct a map of an environment for a robot because most food environments are indoors. Furthermore, we construct scenes for surrounding objects with laser sensors. Second, this map is applied to indoor navigation along the shortest path computed by the global planning. Third, the regional planning is applied to plan paths to avoid obstacles. Finally, we present a method to let a robot put a meal on the table by detecting its height first. In order to perform this action, we use an icon of the edge of a table.The proposed work can really provide a service while delivering a meal in a restaurant. Customers in a restaurant are unnecessary to taking a meal by themselves to replace waiters. As a result,, the sharing of labor saving time is achieved. The experiment shows that our work is really suitable for catering applications.","PeriodicalId":130143,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Eurasia Conference on IOT, Communication and Engineering (ECICE)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134594215","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It provides personal health-related information, customized preventive health information, and practices the concept of preventive care. However, due to the inconvenience of data input and concern of personal data leakage, the penetration rate of PHR has not been effectively increased. This paper uses NFC to provide PHR conveniently with a real-time input and authorization mechanism such as NFC tag writing, NFC tag input, quick start of NFC tag authorization, and a mobile phone NFC peer-to-peer authorization. Through the usage of NFC, the issue of inconvenient data input and data leakage of PHR can be solved. The result helps increase the utilization of PHR to practice the preventive care concept.","PeriodicalId":130143,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Eurasia Conference on IOT, Communication and Engineering (ECICE)","volume":"43 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131013334","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its incidence increases with age. Due to an aging demographic, PD poses an increasing burden on patients and health care resources. PD causes tremors, rigidity, abnormal gait, postural instability, and freezing of gait. These symptoms diminish patients’ quality of life. Continuous rehabilitation of PD patients is more effective in the long term than either pharmacotherapy or surgical treatment. Nevertheless, a patient's motivation for rehabilitation suffers from the difficulties associated with the need for frequent visits to a rehabilitation center. The purpose of this study is to develop a serious game based on augmented reality for the rehabilitation of patients with PD. The game was designed to allow patients with PD to ambulate while following virtual visual cues in a real environment as well as incorporated levels with increasing difficulty. We assess improvements in gait and a sense of balance after 3 weeks of training. The results show that all patients have had improvements in these two outcomes. The results of this study provide references for future study and develop more or methods of playing rehabilitation games.","PeriodicalId":130143,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Eurasia Conference on IOT, Communication and Engineering (ECICE)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133553622","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

More flexibility will help integration of large populations of Distributed Energy Resources (DER). In order to evaluate and improve the performance of investments on flexible resources, an assessment to the resource deployments and operation performances of ADN should be designed and executed. To step further, if this assessment can be executed persistently and continuously, it will help operators make operation decision. This article proposes a flexibility assessment scheme to monitor the effectiveness and functioning of the deployed ADN flexible resources. The scheme includes developing Digital Twin (DT) applications representing ADN. For simulation, real-world operating data are pumped from the physical distribution network (DN) to the DT applications. Performance indices of the status quo flexible resources are computed within our DT flexibility assessment framework. The main contribution of the proposed framework is to improve ADN flexibility planning and build a closed loop system including ADN planning, enactment, and operation. Further studies will focus on the typical scenario generations of Digital Twin.","PeriodicalId":130143,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE Eurasia Conference on IOT, Communication and Engineering (ECICE)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-10-23","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125746281","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
