But in recent times it became one of the important topics to be discussed, because of its health benefits for the user as well as its eco-friendly nature. The study is aimed to assess the feasibility of usage of menstrual cup by new users, who have been using other means of conventional menstrual sanitary protection such as sanitary pads, tampons and cloths. A pre-experimental study was conducted to assess the effectiveness of computer assisted instruction on use of menstrual cup among select students from P.S College of nursing of Kanniyakumari district of Tamil Nadu, India. Totally 30 participants, those who met the inclusion and exclusion criteria were selected by convenient sampling technique. A pretest was conducted by using a structured questionnaire, followed by computer assisted instruction. After 7 days post test was taken. The result of the post test score revealed that the computer assisted instruction had its impact on improving the level of knowledge regarding usage of menstrual cup among college students, the overall mean score of pretest was 5.9 with a S.D of 3.8, whereas in post test the overall mean score was 18 with S.D of 1.5.The t-test value was -1.00 which statistically significant at p<005 level of significance. After computer assisted instruction, it was found that all the students were acquired knowledge of menstrual cup, 16.7% of them had moderate knowledge and 83.3% of them showed adequate knowledge. The score of the study have been found to be statistically significant (p=0.001) and the study implies that the education has a vital role in improving the knowledge of college students regarding usage of menstrual cup. The changes brought among students could be transferred to their families and disseminated in to the community in a wide extent.","PeriodicalId":129862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Nursing Management","volume":"64 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132873817","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The main aim of the study was to identify the effectiveness of audio-visual education on physiological parameters among patients undergoing coronary angiography. Quasi experimental posttest only control group design was adopted in the study. By using Non probability purposive sampling technique 60 study participants were selected and 30 were assigned to the experimental and control group respectively. The demographic variables, health history was collected from the patients undergoing coronary angiography. Audio- Visual Education was provided to the patients in the experimental group for 15 minutes. Routine nursing care was provided to patients in the control group. The vital signs 30 minutes before and after the intervention in both groups were measured. The experimental group showed a statistically significant decrease in the heart rate and blood pressure after the Audio-visual education compared to the control group (P < 0.05). Hence, it was concluded that using Audio-visual education before coronary angiography can effectively maximize the patients outcome. The results of this study confirms the usefulness of prior to an invasive coronary angiography procedure.","PeriodicalId":129862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Nursing Management","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2022-08-04","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121634999","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A Quasi-experimental study one group pre-test post-test design was chosen for this study. The study was carried out among 60 School Children Studying at St. Arnold’s High School, R.C.Puram, Hyderabad, Telangana. Samples were selected by proportionate stratified random sampling technique. Structured Knowledge Questionnaire was used to assess the knowledge on dental hygiene. The study adopted Ludwig Von Bertalanffy’s General System model. The study revealed that the mean percentage between pre-test and post-test 1 was 41.46% and post-test 1 and post-test 2 was 5.7%. The overall mean improvement percentage between pre-test and post-test 2 was 47.19%. The calculated paired ‘t’ value t = 14.734, t = 19.370 and t = 4.119 between pretest, post-test 1 and post-test 2 was found to be statistically highly significant at p, 0.001 level respectively. The calculated repeated measures ANOVA of F = 252.216 was found to be statistically highly significant at p<0.001. Basic principles of infection prevention are simple and include personal hygiene and hand washing. Nurses are on the front line to answer questions from patients and families when the media report outbreaks of exotic infectious diseases and the development of new super pathogens associated with health care. The most common infections acquired in the hospital setting and focus on the nurse’s role in prevention. Hence the focus of this study was to evaluate the effectiveness of Self-Instructional Module on infection control strategies among staff nurses at selected Hospitals, Chamarajanagar. Objectives: 1. To assess the knowledge and Practice of infection control strategies among Staff Nurses Working in Labour Room, in terms of pre-test knowledge scores. 2. To assess the effectiveness of Self-Instructional Module on knowledge and Practice of Infection control strategies among Staff Nurses by comparing the pre and post-test Knowledge score. 3. To find the association between post-test knowledge scores with their selected demographic Variables of Staff Nurses. Methods: A pre-experimental design and evaluative approach was used in the study. The data was collected from 50 subjects; through purposive sampling technique. Data was collected using structured questionnaire. Major Findings of The Study: The overall analysis of level of Knowledge of staff nurses regarding infection control strategies showed that mean Knowledge scores of the subjects at pre-test were 14.7 (49%) with standard deviation 2.823 found to be moderate Knowledge regarding infection control strategies. After administration of Self-Instructional Module mean Knowledge scores of the subjects was 22.84 (76.13%) with standard deviation 2.787 found to be improvement in the level of Knowledge among staff nurses. Among the participants 60% of the staff nurses had inadequate Knowledge and 40% had moderate Knowledge in the pre-test. After administration of the Self-Instructional Module 62% of the subjects had adequate Knowledge, 38% had moderate Knowledge regarding infection control strategies in the post test. The analysis of practice reveals that 48% of the staff nurses had poor Practice and 52% had moderately good Practice in the pre-test. After administration of the Self-Instructional Module 62% of the subjects had Good Practice and remaining 38% had moderately good practice regarding infection control strategies in the post test. The Overall mean practice scores of the respondents was found to be 7.06 (47.06) with the standard deviation of 2.014 which indicates the poor practice of infection control strategies in pre-test.
