IH is the result of increased intracranial pressure. High ICP can cause secondary brain injury and even death. The most common causes of increased ICP are trauma to the brain or skull and stroke. Commonly used barbiturates are pentobarbital and phenobarbital. Another method for decreasing ICP is to paralyze the patient using something like vecuronium. All the patients who are paralyzed MUST be sedated. We can also use paralytics for a patient for aggressive cooling in order to prevent shivering. Sometimes vasopressors are added in order to keep MAP high enough to maintain an adequate CPP.","PeriodicalId":129862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Nursing Management","volume":"53 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139260994","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This review article aims to provide a comprehensive overview of the PCOS epidemiology, aetiology, clinical presentation, diagnostic standards, and therapeutic choices. Worldwide estimates of PCOS prevalence among women of reproductive age range from 5% to 20%. This syndrome is well known for being complex in nature, encompassing both genetic predisposition and environmental influences. Menstrual abnormalities, hyperandrogenism, and an ultrasound showing polycystic ovarian morphology are frequent clinical symptoms. Several sets of diagnostic criteria, such as the Rotterdam criteria and the National Institutes of Health standards, are available, but accurate diagnosis is still essential. Insulin resistance, dyslipidemia, and obesity are among the metabolic disorders that are more likely to develop in people with PCOS. Long-term health effects include an increased risk of type 2 diabetes, cardiovascular disease, and infertility. Improvements in hormonal imbalances, metabolic abnormalities, and fertility outcomes are the main goals of therapeutic interventions, which are individualized to the patient's presentation and goals and include both lifestyle changes and pharmaceutical therapies. this review collects the most recent research results and clinical insights to enhance the understanding of PCOS among healthcare professionals.","PeriodicalId":129862,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Nursing Management","volume":"47 11","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-18","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139262128","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The most common obstacle in treating organophosphorus poisoning is the availability of sufficient medical care, equipment to provide proper emergency care observed in rural areas where there is a lot of gaps between intensive care and acute care. Atropine use is as an antidote in organophosphorus poisoning. The dose of atropine mainly depends on the organophosphorus toxic doses. Atropine is a competitive antagonist of acetylcholine at the muscarinic postsynaptic membrane. Atropine blocks all the muscarinic effects in the body.
