In India, two vaccines were developed and almost immediately approved for use, namely the Covishield and the Covaxin. These new vaccines and their fastened approval stirred a mixture of reactions both among the health care providers and the general public. : This pioneer study was conducted to assess the Knowledge, Attitude and Practice regarding CoViD vaccination among various beneficiaries.A cross-sectional questionnaire based study was conducted among various beneficiaries from January 25 to April 12 2021. Employing the stratified random sampling technique, 1000 study subjects were selected. After obtaining written informed consent, one to one interview was conducted. Knowledge, attitude and practice of CoViD vaccination was assessed using a grading system. 99.95% of Doctors and 49.0% of paramedical health care workers in contrast to 72.8% of general citizens had a good practise regarding vaccination and the pandemic in general. 64% of male study subjects had enrolled for vaccination on their self interest, in contrast with 75% of the 365 female study subjects. There was no statistically significant association between Gender and scores >60% in Knowledge, Attitude and Practice regarding CoViD vaccination among the subjects. There was a statistically very high significance between Knowledge regarding vaccination and the independent decision to get vaccinated. Majority of the study population was willing to be vaccinated and the main reason attributed to this willingness was the belief that the vaccine is safe.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"52 5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-08-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134589118","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also envisaged that the knowledge brought through research on the elderly has a large potential for improving individual lives and society. Since the elderly population represents a vulnerable group, it is thus required that research is conducted following ethical principles and proper protocols. Reports till 02 Jan 2023 suggest a cumulative total of 2,20,10,77,192 vaccination doses administered among the Indian Population. A sore arm, fever, and myalgia are the most common side effects of covid-19 immunization, according to the UK's Medicines and Healthcare Products Regulatory Agency (MHRA). COVID-19 vaccination has not been shown to negatively affect fertility in any of the clinical trials. However, patients who have encountered alterations in their menstrual cycle and bleeding patterns quickly after vaccination are increasingly approaching primary care providers and reproductive health professionals Therefore, our study aims in collecting data from pre-menopausal, vaccinated women regarding alterations in their menstrual cycle post COVID-19 Vaccination through a self-administered pre-validated Questionnaire. Our study implies that almost 77.9% of the study participants did not observe any menstrual changes while 23.1% of the reported abnormal menstruation cycles which included delayed cycles, early cycles, less bleeding than normal and change in blood color. Our study’s conclusion highlights the need for larger studies to identify the possibility for a relationship to exist between COVID 19 Vaccination and Menstrual cycle.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123896789","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Immune dysfunction is a major issue in the disease course, and it can manifest as either autoimmune disease or a poor immune response, the latter of which leads to a higher incidence of infections. The link between a higher incidence of urinary tract infections (UTI) and diabetes has been attributed to immune system impairments, poor metabolic control, and incomplete bladder emptying due to autonomic neuropathy. Poor glycaemic control may predispose to more severe UTI and greatly increase the risk of complications in UTI.200 diabetic patients were screened for UTI admitted at Sir T. General Hospital, Bhavnagar over the period of 6 months from 1st November 2021 to 30 the April.2022. The various measures of central tendencies and graphical representations were used to analyse the data.Majority subjects were from age group of 46 – 60 years 74 (37%) followed by 31-45 years 59 (29.5%), > 60 years was 44 (22%) and 18-30 years was 23 (11.5%) respectively. It was found that female patients 103 (51.5%) marginally higher than male 97 (48.5%). The ratio of male: female was 1:1.06. UTI was found to be significantly associated with advanced age and poorly controlled Diabetes.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133444171","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cardiovascular diseases remain as a major NCD affecting public health, accounting for 23% and 30% of the total mortality in rural and urban population, respectively, in India. Health-seeking behavior of women is an important factor in tackling NCDs as it can influence the health of the family, through influencing lifestyle and related changes in preventing NCDs.: A descriptive cross-sectional survey design was used. A total of 100 women were selected using a convenience sampling method. Data was collected using questionnaires to collect demographic information, NCD risk factors, and a rating scale for assessing the health-seeking behaviors.Forty-seven percent of the participants were diabetic, 45 had hypertension and 28 of them were having dyslipidaemia. Forty-six of them had a family history of NCDs, 68 of them performed regular exercises, such as walking, 56 of them followed a mixed diet, and 63 had a preference to sweets, and 40 percent had a habit of dining out on a regular basis. A majority of the participants followed medicines and the prescribed treatment regimen directed by their physician. Only fifty percent of them engaged in leisure time activities during their free time and very few participants practiced methods like yoga, or meditation.: The participants had risk factors contributing to NCDs, and in general, were practicing good health-seeking behaviors. However, targeting on modifiable risk factors, continuously maintaining health determinants to continuous quality of life improvement is essential to curtail the further deterioration and complication of NCDs.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"30 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134300644","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Moreover, optic atrophy has been reported more commonly than optic neuritis secondary to VBD. Here, we report a 31-years old male presenting with bilateral but asymmetrical optic neuritis as the first clinical presentation secondary to undiagnosed VBD and showed drastic improvement in the vision after replacement with parenteral followed by oral Vitamin-B12. Thus, patients with ocular manifestations should be screened for VBD as well, particularly in the vegans. Though, VBD rarely cause optic neuritis, it should still be considered as one of the differentials; early diagnosis of which may prevent ocular morbidity.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133177893","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is also one of the most common causes of physical disability among adults. Osteoarthritis (OA) is a long-term chronic disease characterized by the deterioration of the cartilage in joints which results in bones rubbing together and creating stiffness, pain, and impaired movement. The pharmaco therapy can be associated with serious side effects and high costs. Now a day’s herbal medications have shown the potential for safe and effective management of arthritis and Unani medicine can provide an alternate therapy for Osteoarthritis. Suranjan Shireen-out of several herbal drugs in Unani Medicine is a potent and safe antiarthritic drug this has been proved in many in-vivo and in-vitro studies. Suranjan Shireen is effective against Arthralgia, Rheumatoid Arthritis and Gout. I have summarised the various clinical studies in this article to prove the therapeutic potentials of the Suranjan-shireen and Talkh with its Unani aspect to help the future scientist to explore this drug through clinical trial for treatment of various forms of OA specially in growing old age population.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128957456","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
