One of the major challenges is to treat multiple diseases in a single individual unlike in middle aged. The second challenge is effective communication skills, among which Listening is the most important, and third challenge is that the presentations of diseases have atypical symptoms. The principles discussed here are how to make a clinical approach simple, more practical, less time consuming, problem oriented and to be part of solutions. The approach in older person differs in view of multidimensional problems for which multidisciplinary team is required. The approach also consists of five dimensions namely physical, mental, economic, social and spiritual in a given elderly patient. The main goals should be to improve Functional capacity and provide good Quality of life. The most important factor encountered in geriatric practice that the elderly tend to owe the symptoms to ageing. In view of so many diversities, this article provides basic principles which may assist the clinician to have a holistic approach.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"36 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140456349","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The widespread use of smartphones and tablets has made it possible for older adults, to access health information online which has led to a steady rise in their use of e-health services like getting reminders for appointments instructions for taking medications, telemedicine consultation and taking part in health programmes.To assess the knowledge and attitude of older adults on e-health services.A descriptive survey design was conducted in urban areas of the community in Kolar Karnataka. A total of 100 older adults were included using a purposive sampling technique & data collected through structured knowledge questionnaire a five point Likert scale among elderly. Data were analyzed using descriptive and inferential statistics in SPSS version 20. The findings showed that older adults, 5% of participants showed adequate knowledge and 75% showed moderate knowledge with only 20% of respondents having inadequate knowledge. Concerning attitudes towards e-health services it indicated that, the majority 80% of geriatric clients showed favourable attitudes, moderately favorable 19%, and unfavorable 1%. It’s found to be statistically significant for variables like age, usage of e-health services & source of information. e-health utilization was proven to be favorable attitude among older adults. Hence it's necessary to take measures in the hospital setup, to initiate e-health services to access the health services without undue stress and time wastage to wait for appointments.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"34 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140455088","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Prostate cancer and other pelvic oncologic lesions are increasingly being staged and restaged using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Long regarded as the cornerstone of oncologic imaging, fluorine 18-fluorodeoxyglucose PET/CT is now being studied and used in clinical practice more often due to the emergence of several tailored radiotracers. Therefore, PET/MRI performed concurrently offers a number of advantages over PET/CT and MR image collections, including the ability to obtain complementary imaging data. An overview of PET/MRI is given by the author, along with a discussion of the key distinctions between PET/MRI and PET/CT, case studies, and treatment guidelines for patients with common prostate cancers.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"151 3","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140455932","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Little millet, a nutritious alternative to maize, boosts high levels of iron, phosphorous, and protein, making it gluten-free and suitable for those with celiac disease.: This research was conducted to develop a value-based product with a lower gluten and carbohydrate content than standard nachos. : The study involved preparation of Nachos by replacing a portion of wheat flour with Little Millet flour in various ratios. The sensory quality of the developed Nachos was then assessed, and the proximate composition of both the modified version and traditionally prepared Nachos was estimated for comparison. The product, formulated by substituting little millet flour for whole wheat flour in six variations, including a control group, was evaluated for its sensory attributes.: The developed product was a nutritionally superior and health-promoting product when compared to the standard Nachos.: Among the variations, the 30% substitution of wheat flour with Little Millet flour was notably well-received by semi-trained sensory panelists. Proximate analysis of this chosen variation revealed lower carbohydrates but higher fiber and iron content. The iron levels evidently increased, while phosphorus levels showed no significant difference.","PeriodicalId":129502,"journal":{"name":"Annals of Geriatric Education and Medical Sciences","volume":"19 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-15","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139963262","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, a lot of other factors apart from ageing can increase this risk. In this study, prevalence of CI and its correlation with different sociodemographic and clinical factors was assessed among patients attending outpatient department of a geriatric healthcare facility.: A total of 240 elderly OPD patients (>60 years) having recovered from different acute illnesses or making follow-up visits were enrolled in the study. Critically ill, hospitalized patients and those with history of COVID-19 exposure were excluded from the study. Demographic and social profile of the patients was noted. Mini Mental State Examination (MMSE) was used for assessment of cognition. MMSE score <27 was considered as CI. Data was analyzed using chi-square test for univariate and binary logistic regression for multivariate assessment. Mean age of patients was 72.58±6.46 years (range 62-91 years), majority of patients were males (55%). Prevalence of CI was 41.2%. There were 59 (24.6%) elderly with mild and 40 (16.7%) with moderate cognitive impairment. On univariate assessment, older age (p=0.003), male sex (p=0.024), living without spouse (p=0.040) and history of hospitalization in last one year (p=0.031) were found to be significantly associated with CI. On logistic regression age (OR=1.072), female sex (OR=0.561), ability to perform routine work (OR=0.461) and hospitalization history (OR=1.823) were identified as independent predictors of CI.: Prevalence of CI was 41.2% in our study. These vaccines are administered to health-care workers, front-line workers, elderly individuals and many others. Health care workers were the first to be administered with vaccines, thus, evaluating the antibody response helps to portray a picture of the burden of SARS-CoV-2 infection amid Health Care Workers. The present study aimed to investigate the production of total antibodies against SARS-CoV-2 before and after vaccination (2 doses) among Health Care Workers along with associated factors. The present study was conducted on 60 healthcare workers as cases who got vaccinated for COVID-19. The semi-quantitative detection of anti-SARS-CoV-2 IgG Ab in the samples was detected using Erba Lisa COVID-19 total antibody indirect ELISA kit using standard protocol as described by the manufacturer. In the present study, co-morbidities such as hypertension was presented in only 8 (12.3%) individuals, diabetes in 4 (6.1%) and Coronary Artery Disease in 1 (1.5%). After first dose of administration, 86.67% HCWs were found seropositive for the anti-SARS-CoV-2 Ab while 13.33% were seronegative, however, after second dose 100% seroprevalence was observed amid HCWs. The statistical analysis depicted a significant difference (p<0.0001) in antibody titres among individuals before and after vaccination. The mean of total antibody levels detected at zero week was (4.1), 4th week, (39.09), 8th week (79.39) and 12th week (105).
