Abstract

The advantages of both PET and MRI are combined with PET/MRI to provide near-perfect picture co-registration and simultaneous image capture. Prostate cancer and other pelvic oncologic lesions are increasingly being staged and restaged using magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Long regarded as the cornerstone of oncologic imaging, fluorine 18-fluorodeoxyglucose PET/CT is now being studied and used in clinical practice more often due to the emergence of several tailored radiotracers.
