Although sometimes applied in the classroom, it cannot truly help teacher's teaching and student's learning. Reasons for the phenomenon are as follows: teachers are not competent enough to take care of everything in the classroom, teachers are not skilled enough to use teaching assistance tools, teachers cannot understand the spirit of the new curricular comprehensively, teachers always misuse a variety of experiential methods. In addition, when experiential teaching was conducted, experiential tools and resources that are potentially helpful to students have not been well-designed and developed. The paper, according to deeply researched universal problems that exist in experiential teaching, designed the experiential teaching mode based on E-schoolbag in order to solve the problems mentioned above. Furthermore, through analyzing a specific teaching case of the chemistry course in a senior high school, the authors hope that the theory of experiential teaching can be enriched and more cases can be provided in practice.","PeriodicalId":127299,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Educational Technology (ISET)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115305884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

If only erroneous examples were provided, students with low prior knowledge may need additional supports so that their procedural skills can be effectively promoted. For this reason, this study, taking subtraction as the learning domain, conducted a 2 × 2 factorial design of quasi-experiment varying in example types (correct vs. erroneous examples) and feedback settings (with vs. without feedback). Results indicated that feedback may promote transfer and retention in learning from worked-out examples. However, there was no significant difference between correct and erroneous examples in helping students learn subtraction procedures. According to the results of our questionnaire on cognitive load, it was likely caused by the complexity of the organization and presentation of erroneous examples. We suggest that clear and intelligible presentation can be supported by computer technologies.","PeriodicalId":127299,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Educational Technology (ISET)","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131063706","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A case study is drawn from participants studying at Caritas Institute of Higher Education, who are currently learning Chinese and English in preparation for entering a higher diploma or an associate degree programme in the coming academic year. The result suggested that the factor of enjoyment factor is decisive in shaping their attitude in using apps in learning languages and attitude in turn marks its influence on behavioral intention. Despite the significance of our pilot test in confirming the feasibility of the questionnaire design in explaining students' behavior, a more comprehensive study with a wider sample drawn from students at sub-degree and degree levels is desirable in the future to establish a more sophisticated theoretical framework.","PeriodicalId":127299,"journal":{"name":"2015 International Symposium on Educational Technology (ISET)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-07-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129450938","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
