It has been associated with low blood velocity of the ophthalmic artery This study aimed to\u0000evaluate the effects of smoking on choroidal and RNFL thickness. The study was conducted in a tertiary care hospital in rural\u0000area of Panipat for a period of 6 months from April 2023 to September 2023. It included 40 patients who were categorized into\u0000two equal groups. The smokers group included 20 smokers who practiced continuous smoking atleast 2 cigarettes/ bidis per\u0000day, atleast 5 days per week for 2 yrs. Controls included 20 healthy individuals, who were matched for their age with the study\u0000group participants. An inquiry about the habit of smoking in detail was done. OCT images were obtained for measurement of\u0000the subfoveal choroidal thickness (CT) and RNFL thickness. The RNFL thickness of all the four quadrants (superior, inferior,\u0000nasal and temporal) was recorded separately, as well as the overall average thickness. Inferior and Nasal RNFL thicknesses\u0000were 101.9 ± 31.231 and 77.8 ± 16.548 μm in the smokers group and 126.85 ± 26.738 μm and 98 ± 24.35 μm in the nonsmoker\u0000group, respectively. The differences were statistically signicant (p=0.0099, p=0.0040 respectively). Average RNFL Thickness\u0000was 87.5 ± 22.47 μm and subfoveal CT was 290.365 ± 36.404 μm in the smoker group, while these values were 102.45± 17.9 μm\u0000and 328.8015 ± 59.414 μm in the nonsmoker group, respectively. There were signicant differences in these comparisons\u0000(p=0.0254, p=0.0183, respectively). This could be associatedwith reduced blood ow to the choroid following smoking. Thus,\u0000we recommend a routine eye examination for smokers and encourage them to give up smoking.

To elucidate the diagnostic challenges encountered in a patient\u0000initially misdiagnosed with left pyonephrosis, subsequently revealing a rare renal pseudocyst as a\u0000consequence of pancreatitis, and to underscore the pivotal role of contrast-enhanced CT in achieving an accurate diagnosis 2.\u0000Emphasize the impact of timely intervention based on the accurate diagnosis, showcasing the improvement in patient\u0000outcomes and the importance of avoiding delays caused by misdiagnosis. Materials And Methods: 1. A retrospective analysis\u0000was conducted on a patient diagnosed with acute pancreatitis initially misdiagnosed as left pyonephrosis, subsequently\u0000revealing a perirenal pancreatic pseudocyst. Imaging studies was done including USG and CE-CT abdomen pelvis using GE\u0000voluson S8 and Siemens SOMATOM 128 slice respectively 2. Review of imaging studies, notably ultrasound scans and\u0000contrast-enhanced CT images were done using MEDSYNAPSE PACS & formed a crucial component of the study. Result: The\u0000CE-CT revealed left kidney was grossly enlarged in size with a large well-dened peripherally enhancing collection in the\u0000involving the left kidney causing mass effect over the left pelvi-calyceal system and thinned out renal parenchyma. The thinned\u0000out residual renal parenchymal tissue shows enhancement on post contrast images. However there is prompt excretion of the\u0000contrast from the left kidney. Mild perinephric fat stranding is noted with mild reactive thickening of the anterior and posterior\u0000renal fascia. A diagnosis of sequelae of necrotizing pancreatitis with walled off necrosis, peri-pancreatic and renal\u0000pseudocysts was the nal radiological diagnosis. The diagnostic odyssey of the presented case Conclusion: serves as a\u0000testament to the intricate nature of abdominal pathologies and the critical role of contrast-enhanced CT in achieving accurate\u0000diagnoses.
