It is a fact that striped clothing has great impact on customer's preference in fashion design field. The retailer stores usually sell striped clothing because the needs from consumers. Some well-known brands such as: MUJI, UNIQLO, NET, MOSCHINO, and Tommy Hilfiger, consistently supplying line clothing in the 2013 Spring Collections. However, we found out that the aesthetic feeling are actually depending on personals favorite and connected to the theory of Zebra Effect. In this research, we are investigating the influence of Helmholtz Illusion in dress patterns and fashion cognition between both consumers and subjects. Visual illusions have been widely applied in many areas of design. Some studies showed that human body is best revealed by horizontal, not vertical lines, and that the depth and curvature of the body are crucial for conveying its shape. After the reasons of different dimension present the effect of illusion, they identify that the depth and curvature of the body are crucial for conveying the shape. Nevertheless, this study exist few tools or methods to support reasoning about the influence of line fashion through interact experience. It is an experimental procedure for subjects to observe the four female shapes in two different line shirts, in order to undertake people's real considerations between their notion of stereotype and perceptions. Normally, we think that vertical lines would make people look taller, so wearing vertical stripes should cause the figure to look slimmer than when wearing horizontal stripes. On the other hand, horizontal lines usually give the feeling of sideward extension, resulting in the visual effect of a wider and heavier appearance. Under the same condition, the four differently shaped females in this study, tall, short, heavy, and thin, were asked to try on both vertical and horizontal striped clothing to compare the visual effects, based on certain formula and within the same experimental environment. Therefore, the result of this study is hoped to examine the stereotype to consumers and visual illusion of perception to subjects, also to see the Zebra Effect in this study that is whether differences would be made due to different body shapes.","PeriodicalId":125572,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fifth International Conference on Service Science and Innovation","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133032260","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Consequently, this study seeks to offer insight into how popular online promotions (price-discount, coupon and free shipping) influence consumer's quality perception and purchase intentions. Moreover, brand awareness was expected to moderate the relationship between promotion and consumer responses. To achieve this objective, a 3 (promotion: price-discount / coupon / free shipping) x 2 (brand: well-known / fictitious brand) between-subjects factorial design experiment was conducted. The participants were 210 college students. The results revealed significant main effects for promotion and brand awareness on consumers' perceived quality. Specifically, in contrast with coupon promotion, price-discount revealed greater impact on consumer's perceived quality. In addition, well-known brand has successfully played a moderating role in the relationship between promotions and consumer responses. The research finding suggested that promotional strategies used by well-known brand are more possible to result in more favorable responses. Findings from this study will be able to provide useful knowledge for online sellers to choose appropriate sales promotion tools to successfully induce consumer's purchase intentions.","PeriodicalId":125572,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fifth International Conference on Service Science and Innovation","volume":"36 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123349438","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Inventory management is therefore important to the food-processing-and-distribution industry because of the large amount of products typically stored. Large amounts of stored products increase inventory cost and management cost and can reduce warehouse efficiency. This study is important to build up a system to predict possible forthcoming inventory. This study surveyed experts to identify key issues associated with inventory management in the food-processing-and-distribution industry. Through this proposed prediction model, the best accuracy of inventory prediction could reach up to 66.3%. Through the sequential patterns based on expert opinions, the food-processing-and-distribution industry can manage inventory efficiently and accurately.","PeriodicalId":125572,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fifth International Conference on Service Science and Innovation","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129814540","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Many techniques have been developed, and research on personalized services has increased substantially in recent years. The objective of this research is to propose a relationship-building perspective that treats the relational benefits resulting from personalized services as the important mediated factors that affect customer loyalty. Both cognitive benefits and affective benefits are included in order to investigate their relative influences. In this study, a controlled laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate how different tactics of personalization on a website affect customer loyalty. There are three tactics for designing website personalization, including social ness, self-reference, and content relevance. The results showed that personalized services can contribute to customer loyalty by bringing relational benefits to customers, and the impact of affective benefit on customer loyalty is greater than that of cognitive benefits. The findings extend our existing understanding of personalization, and offer valuable information to practitioners on enhancing their website design.","PeriodicalId":125572,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fifth International Conference on Service Science and Innovation","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133347793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is still far behind the shower head in terms of the household penetration. For the increase of the local acceptance of the shower bars and development of the market, the key lies in the developers' understanding of the users' feelings about, needs for and expectations of the shower bars and the launch of the products meeting their requirements. This study explores the shower bar user groups through survey of lifestyles and analyzes the kansei values and preferences of each group based on the survey results. An open-ended questionnaire was provided to understand the inconveniences and problems the consumers experience when using the shower bar while the kansei descriptive terms for the shower bars are were collected. According to the analysis results, the lifestyles of the shower bar users include the following ten aspects: trendy fashion, kansei living, recreation-minded, challenge trying, routine following, care for society, active, busy, celibatarian and resolute. Through cluster analysis, the users were divided into the four major clusters: relaxed and self-centered, ordinary and stable, fashion pursuing and busy living. The kansei value needs and expectations of each group was discussed and analyzed based on their characteristics and the returned questionnaire was reviewed to come up with 46 kansei descriptive words and 4 major issues for improvement were summarized for reference in designing the shower bars.","PeriodicalId":125572,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fifth International Conference on Service Science and Innovation","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126594715","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, web service composition workflows are modeled using BPEL, BPEL4WS, and other programming languages which are difficult and very complex to use. To overcome this problem, a well known and simple modeling language such as Unified Modeling Language (UML) should be studied and used to design the web service composition workflow. Furthermore, with the increasing number of service providers, web services should be composed according to functional and nonfunctional requirements which raise the importance of optimizing web service composition according to QoS attributes. In this paper, a model driven approach will be proposed. The approach allows developers to design the composition workflow using UML sequence diagrams. After parsing the UML workflow, web services will be discovered, composed and optimized. In this paper, a tree-based optimization algorithm will be used. The algorithm will be able to find the optimal composition solution according to multiple QoS attributes. To demonstrate the efficiency and effectiveness of the proposed algorithm, we provided experimental results for a supply chain management system case study with multi QoS attributes.","PeriodicalId":125572,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fifth International Conference on Service Science and Innovation","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125080908","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The model was built and validated according to publicly available statistical and transactional data from Zhishan-CHG, and estimated the system's financial sustainability under different conditions. Five scenarios were explored in the experiment simulating the capitation payment scheme in over a period of three years. The results can be summarized as follows: (1) medical cost expenditure per person can be reduced as more patients are enrolled in the capitation system, (2) the service model with a health promotion agent outperforms the model without one in a fee-for-service (FFS) cost control system, (3) greater quality and retention rates improve capitation income, (4) the risk of the CHG service system can be mitigated by excluding inpatient medical costs from the virtual points assigned by NHI, and (5) simulation results show a positive financial outcome for Zhishan-CHG. These simulation results suggest that for primary care institutes forming CHGs in Taiwan, combining the capitation model with proper risk estimates is cost effective.","PeriodicalId":125572,"journal":{"name":"2013 Fifth International Conference on Service Science and Innovation","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-05-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130476763","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
