Di lingkungan masyarakat tradisional Jawa Barat terbangun sains asli yang berbentuk pesan, adat-istiadat yang diyakini oleh masyarakatnya, dan disampaikan secara turun-temurun tentang bagaimana harus bersikap terhadap alam. Masyarakat adat yang tidak mendapatkan pengetahuan formal tentang peran gas oksigen, karbondioksida, serta siklus karbon di alam, menerapkan pengetahuan tradisional berupa amanat leluhur untuk menjaga hutan dan air dengan cara tidak menebang hutan sembarangan. Teknologi yang berkembang pada masyarakat tradisional Sunda, salah satunya, bisa diamati pada bangunan tradisional berupa rumah panggung. Sistem kekuatan pada rumah panggung menggunakan ikatan, sambungan “pupurus”, dan pasak. Tidak ada paku, mur, dan baut, karena dilarang oleh adat dan bertentangan dengan aturan leluhur mereka atau tabu. Nilai-nilai luhur dan budaya lokal tersebut tetap dipertahankan dan diwariskan kepada generasi berikutnya yang hidup di era modern. KATA KUNCI: Sains Modern dan Tradisional; Teknologi Ramah Lingkungan; Kearifan Lokal; Masyarakat Sunda; Rumah Panggung. ABSTRACT: “The Concept of Science and Technology in Traditional Communities in West Java Province, Indonesia”. The noble values of culture owned by community groups in Indonesia have belonged to the nation as an invaluable potential for the development and progress of the nation. In the West Java traditional community, the original science in the form of messages, customs that are believed by the community, and passed down from generation to generation about how to behave towards nature. Indigenous peoples who do not get formal knowledge of the role of oxygen gas, carbon dioxide, and the carbon cycle in nature, applying traditional knowledge of ancestral mandates to preserve forests and water by not cutting down forests indiscriminately. The technology that developed in Sundanese traditional society, one of them, can be observed in the traditional building in the form of a stage house. The power system of the house on stilts uses ties, connections, and pegs. There were no nails, nuts, and bolts, for it was forbidden by custom and against their ancestral rules or taboos. Kelulusan peserta didik ditentukan berdasarkan pertimbangan hasil pembelajaran pada seluruh mata pelajaran. Apakah hasil ujian nasional ini berpengaruh terhadap kelulusan peserta didik, khususnya di SMP (Sekolah Menengah Pertama) Laboratorium UPI (Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia) di Bandung? Untuk mengetahuinya dilakukan penelitian atas kontribusi nilai UN terhadap kelulusan siswa. Dengan menggunakan metode penelitian “causal associative” (korelasi), subjek penelitian adalah 134 orang siswa kelas IX SMP Laboratorium UPI. Hasil penelitian menunjukan: (1) Siswa kelas IX SMP Laboratorium UPI tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 secara keseluruhan dinyatakan lulus dengan kategori “sangat baik”; (2) pencapaian nilai hasil UN yang diperoleh siswa kelas IX SMP Laboratorium UPI secara keseluruhan menunjukan kategori “cukup”; serta (3) pencapaian nilai hasil ujian nasional yang diperoleh siswa kelas IX SMP Laboratorium UPI tahun pelajaran 2015/2016 secara keseluruhan memberikan kontribusi positif secara signifikan terhadap tingkat kelulusan siswa yang bersangkutan dengan kontribusi sebesar 69.7%.KATA KUNCI: Ujian Nasional; Kontribusi; Kelulusan Siswa; Hasil Pembelajaran; SMP Laboratorium. ABSTRACT: “Contribution of National Examination Results to Students Graduation of UPI Laboratory SMP Lesson Year 2015/2016”. UN (National Examination) in 2016 is no longer a determinant of graduation of students from an educational level. Graduation of learners is determined based on consideration of learning outcomes in all subjects. Do the results of this national examination affect the graduation of students, especially in UPI (Indonesia University of Education) Laboratory SMP (Junior High School) in Bandung? To find out it, the research on the contribution of the UN score to the student’s graduation. By using research method \"causal associative\" (correlation), the subject of research is 134 students of class IX UPI Laboratory SMP. This paper is to gain insight into the potential use of social media in the context of higher education and particularly into the teacher use of Facebook in their teaching. The literature review presented in this paper begins by synthesizing the definition and types of social media and exploring its characteristic as well as critically interrogating related studies as to how social media, particularly Facebook, is being used in order to connect learners and support teachers teaching. It can be concluded that social media comprises of diverse applications with different main functions configurations and characteristics. The most prevalent and high profile social media is SNSs (Social Network Sites), for example Facebook, that has proved its ability to assist education through numbers of studies which show its benefits in education, but then, again at the same time, has its own drawback if it is not used effectively in an educational context. Accordingly, more studies are needed pertaining the Facebook and its implication in order to examine students-teacher interaction and students’ engagement.KEY WORD: Social Media; Facebook; Implementation; Teachers Teaching; Higher Education. ABSTRAKSI: “Media Sosial dan Perlaksanannya di Pengajian Tinggi”. Media sosial terdiri daripada pelbagai aplikasi dengan ciri-ciri utama fungsi dan konfigurasi yang berlainan. Kertas ini adalah untuk mendapatkan maklumat tentang potensi penggunaan media sosial dalam konteks pendidikan tinggi dan terutamanya penggunaan Facebook dalam pengajaran guru. Kajian literatur dalam kertas ini bermula dengan mensintesis definisi dan jenis media sosial dan meneroka ciri-cirinya secara kritikal yang berkaitan tentang bagaimana media sosial, terutamanya Facebook, digunakan dalam menyokong pengajaran guru dan pembelajaran pelajar. Dapat disimpulkan bahawa media sosial terdiri daripada pelbagai aplikasi dengan fungsi dan ciri-ciri yang berbeza. Penggunaan media sosial yang tertinggi adalah SNSs (Social Network Sites), sebagai contoh Facebook, yang telah membuktikan keupayaan untuk membantu pendidikan melalui beberapa kajian terdahulu yang mana ia menyenaraikan faedah-faedahnya dalam pengajaran dan pembelajaran, tetapi pada masa yang sama, sosial media mempunyai kelemahan sendiri jika ia tidak digunakan dengan berkesan dalam konteks pendidikan. Suasana pembelajaran yang kondusif tersebut hanya dapat diciptakan jika guru bersikap ramah kepada siswa. Guru menggunakan bahasa yang santun sehingga tidak mengancam muka siswa. Bahasa guru yang santun akan dapat dijadikan sebagai model oleh siswa. Dengan demikian, secara tidak langsung, guru menanamkan nilai karakter sopan-santun kepada peserta didik. Dalam interaksi instruksional di SD, guru dapat menerapkan strategi kesantunan positif dalam membangun kedekatan hubungan dengan siswa. Sub-strategi kesantunan positif dapat dipilih dalam pelaksanaan kegiatan awal, kegiatan inti, dan kegiatan akhir pembelajaran. Dengan penerapan strategi kesantunan positif akan terbangun kedekatan hubungan antara guru dengan peserta didiknya. Dengan kedekatan hubungan ini interaksi intruksional dapat berjalan dengan harmonis, sehingga tujuan pembelajaran akan dapat dicapai dengan baik.KATA KUNCI: Guru; Siswa; Model Kesantunan Berbahasa; Interaksi Instruksional; Sekolah Dasar. ABSTRACT: “Teacher as Model of Language Politeness in the Instructional Interactions in Elementary School”. In the instructional interactions in elementary school, teachers have been demanded to create a conducive learning situation, so that the students can perform in a supportive psychological learning atmosphere. Conducive learning atmosphere can only be created if the teachers are friendly to the students. Teachers use polite language so as not to face-threatening to students. Polite language, which is spoken by teachers, will be able to be used as a model by the students. Thus, indirectly, teachers instill character values of courtesy to students. In the instructional interactions in elementary school, teachers can implement positive politeness strategy in building a close relationship with the students. Sub-positive politeness strategies can be chosen in the implementation of the initial activity, core activities, and the end of the learning activity. With the application of positive politeness strategy will build close relationship between teachers and learners. A CAR (Classroom Action Research) is the research design implemented to solve their reading problems encountered in classroom, such as the grammar, vocabulary, graphology, and the content. Action research is a teacher professional to the optimal achievement of the students to the lesson in teaching learning process in the classroom. And Jigsaw II is the technique applied in classroom activity, which students as the learning centered. Observation, tests, and documentary studys become the source of data collection technique used. The data collection obtained can be the qualitative and quantitative data of this study. Tujuan penelitian adalah untuk memotivasi mahasiswa kelas 2C1, Program Studi Teknik Informatika di STMIK (Sekolah Tinggi Manajemen Informatika dan Komputer) Pontianak, Kalimantan Barat, Indonesia terlibat dan terbantu dalam belajar bahasa Inggris, terutama untuk keterampilan membaca di dalam kelas. PTK (Penelitian Tindakan Kelas) adalah model penelitian yang diterapkan untuk menyelesaikan masalah membaca yang ditemukan di kelas, seperti tata bahasa, kosa kata, model penulisan, dan isi teks. Penelitian tindakan adalah keprofessionalan guru untuk mengoptimalkan pencapaian keterampilan membaca mahasiswa dalam materi pembahasan pada proses belajar-mengajar di kelas. Dan Jigsaw II adalah teknik yang diterapkan dalam aktivitas kelas, di mana mahasiswa sebagai pusat pembelajaran. Pengamatan, tes, dan studi dokumentasi adalah teknik pengambilan data yang digunakan. Data yang terkumpul bisa berupa kualitatif dan kuantitatif data dalam studi ini. The MIMBAR PENDIDIKAN  is a new version journal from the old journal with the similar name that was published since 1995 to 2005. This journal is dedicated not only for Indonesian scholars who concern about educational studies, but also welcome to the scholars of Southeast Asian countries and around the world who care and share related to the educational studies in general. The majority of behavioural theories acknowledged individual as the central focus. Certain environmental or situational factors and applicable change-related processes have been recognised and studied as having significant influence in determining individual, group, and organisational behaviours. In the context of readiness for change, the theory of planned behaviour would be suitable in assessing the change supporting attributes of employees in achieving a strong readiness for change status. The connection between the theory of planned behaviour and individual readiness for change is that if a person has positive evaluation of change effort (attitude), supported by his close peers (subjective norm), and is confident that such change efforts will be undertaken successfully (perceived behavioural control), there will be improved motivation (intention) to actually engage in the change effort (readiness for change). This paper will discuss the Theory of Planned Behaviour and the readiness for change in organizations.KEY WORD: Readiness for Change; Attitude; Intention; Organisation; Human Resource Development. ABSTRAKSI: “Teori Tingkah-Laku Terancang dan Kesediaan untuk Berubah: Implikasi pada Organisasi”. Jangka hayat sesebuah organisasi dalam persekitaran yang mencabar hari ini bergantung kepada penyesuaian yang berterusan terhadap perubahan persekitaran. Kebanyakan teori tingkah-laku mengakui bahawa individu merupakan tumpuan utama dalam perubahan. Faktor persekitaran atau situasi tertentu dan proses yang berkaitan dengan perubahan juga telah diiktiraf dan dikaji sebagai mempunyai pengaruh yang besar dalam menentukan tingkah-laku individu, kumpulan, dan organisasi. Dalam konteks kesediaan untuk berubah, teori tingkah-laku terancang adalah sesuai dalam menilai perubahan sifat-sifat pekerja dalam menentukan kesediaan mereka yang kukuh untuk berubah. Hubungan antara teori tingkah-laku terancang dan kesediaan untuk berubah adalah berkaitan dengan: seseorang mempunyai penilaian positif terhadap usaha untuk berubah (sikap), disokong pula oleh rakan-rakannya yang rapat (norma subjektif), dan yakin bahawa usaha perubahan tersebut dilaksanakan dengan jayanya (kawalan tingkah-laku) dan motivasi yang ditambah baik (niat) akan benar-benar terlibat dalam usaha perubahan (kesediaan untuk berubah). Elena High School in the Philippines. Findings revealed that based on the responses in the modified Environmental Awareness Scale, the respondents were moderately aware of the environmental concepts. In the participation in environmental programs, the respondents sometimes do the tasks of recycling; water and energy conservation; non-use of harmful products; creative possible solution; and social media solution. They seldom do the tasks of participating in tree planting and joining in school’s environmental clubs. Students’ interview revealed that in spite of the almost the same programs about environmental care cited by the officers of the different school clubs, not all of their schoolmates had initiatives in keeping the school campus clean. Through the guidance of their parents, the students participate in environmental practices at home. Accordingly, the teachers should strengthen the integration of environmental concepts, principles, and practices in various subjects in the school. KEY WORD: Awareness; Environmental Awareness Scale; Environmental Advocacy Program; Environmental Problems; Social Media. ABSTRAKSI: “Kesadaran dan Pengamalan Siswa tentang Lingkungan: Dasar untuk Pengembangan Program Advokasi”. Kajian deskriptif ini digunakan untuk mengidentifikasi kesadaran dan praktek siswa terpilih di SMA (Sekolah Menengah Atas) Sta. Elena, Filipina. Temuan mengungkapkan bahwa berdasarkan tanggapan dalam Skala Kesadaran Lingkungan yang dimodifikasi, para responden cukup sadar akan konsep lingkungan. Dalam partisipasi program lingkungan, para responden kadang-kadang melakukan tugas-tugas daur ulang; konservasi air dan energi; tidak menggunakan produk yang berbahaya; solusi sekreatif mungkin; dan solusi media sosial. Mereka jarang melakukan tugas partisipatif dalam penanaman pohon dan bergabung di klub lingkungan sekolah. Para siswa mengungkapkan bahwa meskipun ada program yang hampir sama tentang perawatan lingkungan yang ditekankan oleh petugas dari klub sekolah yang berbeda-beda, tidak semua siswa sekolah memiliki inisiatif dalam menjaga lingkungan sekolah yang bersih. Melalui bimbingan orang tua, para siswa berpartisipasi dalam praktek menjaga lingkungan di rumah. Karena itu, guru harus memperkuat integrasi konsep lingkungan, prinsip, dan praktek dalam berbagai mata pelajaran di sekolah.
