Since it may not be possible to simply weight the importance of each flow for the mQAP, it is best to use Pareto optimization to obtain the Pareto front or an approximation of it. Although Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) algorithm has exhibited good performance across a wide range of application problems, research on mQAP has not much been investigated. This paper introduces a fuzzy particle swarm algorithm to handle the Multiobjective Quadratic Assignment Problem (mQAP). In the fuzzy scheme, the representations of the position and velocity of the particles in the conventional PSO is extended from the real vectors to fuzzy matrices. A new mapping is introduced between the particles in the swarm and the problem space in an efficient way. We evaluated the performance of the proposed approach. Empirical results illustrate that the approach can be applied for solving mQAP's very effectively.","PeriodicalId":122964,"journal":{"name":"2008 Second Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS)","volume":"66 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126208736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In our model, behavior of the problem is saved as a set of unchanged membership functions and the knowledge of the incident angle is extracted as very simple curves of starting parameters. Then the induced current of the externally excited dipole antenna for any incident angle can be predicted very easily by applying the starting parameters calculated from the achieved simple curves to fuzzy system. Comparing fuzzy model results with the method of moments (MoM) shows very good agreement while execution time is surprisingly short even for wide bandwidth.","PeriodicalId":122964,"journal":{"name":"2008 Second Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133530738","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A lot of research has been carried out to study both the Endogenous and Exogenous factors, which influence the learning within the project based organizations. A tool to study the dynamics of learning within the projects would help the managers to a great deal for a better and effective OLD. Therefore, this Paper is on building a System Dynamics (SD) tool to depict the dynamics of Learning and Development in Service Projects. The Research was carried out at a Ship building and Repairing Company located in Middle East. The Project Learning and Development Dynamic Model (PLDDM) has been developed to analyze the Learning Dynamics. Dynamics of learning within the project-based organizations indicate that there is a need to minimize the 'competence gain training time' to the least value possible, and to develop the ability to quantify the 'degree of change', so as to manage change and competency towards strategic competitiveness.","PeriodicalId":122964,"journal":{"name":"2008 Second Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133552807","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In such a network, topology changes dynamically and due to limitations of bandwidth, transmission range and power routing becomes an important issue. A lot of work has been done infield of routing in ad-hoc network since 1990. Dynamic Source Routing protocol (DSR) provides simple and efficient routing for multihop ad-hoc network of mobile nodes. This paper presents a simulation based performance analysis and comparison between traditional DSR and extended DSR. It utilises a specially designed framework which builds on the Global Mobile Information System Simulator (GloMoSim). Some optimizations of DSR have already been implemented in GloMoSim. Several different simulation results show that performance got better by traditional (already implemented) DSR.","PeriodicalId":122964,"journal":{"name":"2008 Second Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS)","volume":" 47","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131977425","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, more and more people pay attention to this issue. But most of the secure protocols must use public key and symmetric cryptographies which induce heavy load to nodes in the whole routing stage. In this paper, we propose an Efficiency Security Model of Routing (ESMR). In routing stage, ESMR only uses public key cryptography when new nodes enter the wireless sensor network and does not use symmetric cryptography at all. Through the security analyzing, we find our cryptography method only can resist the outside attackers, but it is helpless to inside attackers. Therefore, reputation mechanism is proposed against inside attackers in ESMR. The simulation result shows that the performance of ESMR is not as good as LEACH (Low-Energy Adaptive Clustering Hierarchy routing protocol) in no attacker environment, but it becomes better and better with the number of attackers increasing.","PeriodicalId":122964,"journal":{"name":"2008 Second Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS)","volume":"106 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130125233","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These include convolution operation and the image restoration algorithm using Markov random field models. The convolution operation has been parallelized using the Farmer-Worker paradigm, while the image restoration algorithm has been parallelized through the Master-Worker pattern. Parallel implementations of both these algorithms have shown promising results, where the observed speedups are reasonably close to the ideal speedups. The parallel convolution operation has shown good scalability with respect to the problem size and number of processors used in parallelization. The paper elaborates on different parallelization results of the convolution operation observed after varying the image size, mask size and processor load on individual workstations. The image restoration algorithm is communication intensive. However, as the computing time between successive communications at each worker process is relatively high, the actual speedups observed are very close to the ideal speedups in this algorithm.","PeriodicalId":122964,"journal":{"name":"2008 Second Asia International Conference on Modelling & Simulation (AMS)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2008-05-13","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130102863","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
