Striving for even lower instabilities of ultra-stable lasers, it is essential to study the stiffness analysis of vibration-insensitive optical reference cavities. Theoretically, under the other same conditions, greater stiffness could lead to lower vibration sensitivity and Brownian thermal noise. In this paper, the stiffness of a spherical optical cavity mounted at two support points on a diameter of the spherical spacer are analyzed theoretically. The analysis results show that the maximum values of the three kinds stiffness and bending shearing force are located in the support point of the cavity. Additionally, the minimum of that and the maximum of axial stress present to radius of the cavity. On the whole, five function curves of the stiffness and two key forces are nonlinear as a function of the length of the optical axis. The analysis results in this paper are helpful to optimization design thermal noise and vibration sensitivity of spherical optical reference cavities.","PeriodicalId":122928,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS)","volume":"283 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131951856","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This process developed in FEMTO-ST institute aims to characterize materials of potential interest for wireless SAW (Surface Acoustic Wave) sensors in a “high temperature” environment. The analysis indicates that three kinds of sublayer/electrode pairs (W/Mo, Ta/W and Ta/Mo) are good candidates for further developments in actual sensing devices.","PeriodicalId":122928,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125368158","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For this evaluation we report the residual phase noise, total Allan deviation, total time deviation, and temperature fluctuations of the optical time and frequency transfer network. This two-way transfer is transmitted over an underground, dark fiber optic path in an urban environment. The measurement serves as a practical evaluation for establishing a long term fiber optic link between clocks or timescales intended for synchronization over short baselines where dark fiber may be available. In addition to measuring the time and frequency transfer stability we discuss other obstacles in fiber optic communication such as patch insertion loss and fiber availability.","PeriodicalId":122928,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123856987","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The monitoring results include UTC(NTSC)-GPST and UTC(NTSC)-GLONASST and UTC(NTSC)-BDT. With the development of Galileo satellite navigation, it is imperative to take Galileo system time offset monitoring into consideration. At present, the Galileo in-orbit satellites include 4 IOV (In-Orbit Validation) satellites and 8 FOC (Full Operational Capability) satellites. The complete Galileo constellation is expected by 2020. Therefore, the experiments of Galileo In-Orbit Satellite clocks assessment at NTSC have implemented for several months. This paper will present a scheme of Galileo in-orbit satellite clock assessment. The short-term performance specifications of all Galileo in-orbit satellites clocks are assessed by receiving the signal-in-space, which includes frequency stability, the consistency of the frequency stability over time. The method and process of absolute delay calibration of the receiver and associated antennas are discussed. The calibration results are given with which more accurate Galileo system time offset with respect to UTC(NTSC) are obtained preliminarily. The evaluation results show that in normal condition, frequency stabilities of Galileo satellite clock are all close to the level of e-13 and consistent over time when average times equal to 60s and 300s respectively. After satellite clock correction, the time difference between Galileo System Time(GST) and UTC(NTSC) which derived from each satellite change from -35 ns to -5 ns. The satellite clock stabilities are slightly improved by broadcasted clock error correction. The performance of two abnormal FOC satellites(E14 and E18) are also analyzed. The results will be very significant not only for Galileo system time offset monitoring but also for Galileo standalone positioning, multi-GNSS combination positioning, Integrity monitoring, the Galileo system time interoperability, etc.","PeriodicalId":122928,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS)","volume":"11 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115579063","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Both parallel and series connection topologies of the system are verified. The study reveals significant non-Duffing response that is associated with the nonlinear characteristics of Josephson junctions. The nonlinearity provides quasi-periodic structure of the spectrum in both incident power and frequency. The device is comprised of a thin silicon membrane coupled to a thermal-piezoresistive resonator. Membrane deflection due to the stress resulting from deposition or growth of a thin film deforms the resonator, thus changing its resonance frequency. Such stress sensors can be used in different media without perturbing the resonator operation due to the isolation provided by the membrane. Response of the fabricated devices due to thermal stress induced in 400nm thick Ni and Al layers deposited on the membranes was measured demonstrating sensitivities as high as 1.7 Hz/Pa. Real-time characterization of the fabricated sensors was also performed demonstrating a sensitivity of ~1000ppm/MPa while etching a 2μm SiO2 layer underneath the membrane over the time. A finite element Simulation and a mathematical modeling were employed to calculate the stress in the center of the membrane resulting from different thicknesses of SiO2 layer. The modeling suggests the experimental frequency shift of 7kHz corresponds to the stress of ~7×106 N/m2 caused by formation of 2μm thick oxide layer underneath the membrane.","PeriodicalId":122928,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Frequency Control Symposium (IFCS)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-09","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126141871","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
