To identify the latitudinal-zonal faunas of the PF, an assessment was made of the species similarity and differences of the PF complexes of the same age from different wells. Based on the difference in species composition, the fauna of the PF is divided into non-arctic regional and oceanic latitudinal-zonal: subtropical western, tropical central and subtropical central oceanic faunas. To reconstruct the climatic fluctuations that occurred at the end of the Campanian century in the Pacific Ocean, the systematic composition of the shells of planktonic foraminifera was studied from the core samples of eleven deep-sea drilling wells.The identified PF thanatocenoses were assigned to two types (Tethyan, intermediate) and one subtype (thermal-boreal). Based on the spatial distribution of thanatocenoses, the position of climatic zones for two sections of the late Campanian was determined. Within the studied water area, two climatic zones were developed during the studied age interval: intermediate and Tethyan. In the middle of the Late Campanian, the boundary between them passed in the paleoequator region. At the end of the late Campanian, it became sharply colder. The intermediate and Tethyan zones narrowed. In the northern part of the studied water area, a warm-boreal subzone was revealed, in the southern part, the Tethyan subzone was replaced by an intermediate zone. The obtained reconstructions are confirmed by our own and published data of oxygen isotope analysis.","PeriodicalId":122322,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Oceanological Research","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122645357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

On 7 of May 2023 there was 75 years from her including in the staff of Oceanology Institute as senior scientist. She was one of the brilliant scientific pleiad which has created world-wide reputation of our Institute. Tatiana Fiodorovna studied bottom flora and vegetation in Black, Azov, Caspian, White and Barents Seas. In 1948 she organized and headed the first expedition of IO on Far East seas. Those expeditions have continued their activity in 1950th and raised marine algology of Japan Sea and Sakhalin Island to new level of knowledge. Stschapov’s publications on bottom flora and structure of benthic communities are up to now considered to be standard of hydrobotanical investigations. Her doctor thesis has laid the foundation of marine phytogeography. The scientific direction she had created has been continued by her follower Vera Vozzhinskaya and exists nowadays in the Laboratory of coastal ecology IO. Returning to Moscow from Sakhalin expedition Tatiana Fiodorovna perished in the airplane crash – being just in the prime of her talent. The investigation of archive documents resulted in very interesting data on her family and ancestors – on the historical background of our motherland.","PeriodicalId":122322,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Oceanological Research","volume":"1986 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131076277","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The highest abundance of zooplankton and concentrations of chlorophyll “a” (eutrophic level) were in the coastal area and seaward to a depth of 40 m. Under the conditions of the exclusively open sea, water eutrophication decreased to the mesotrophic level. The lowest values of chlorophyll “a”, the abundance and biomass of zooplankton were observed in the deep-water zone (depths of 100–200 m), located mainly in the Gdansk Deep and Gotland Deep. The excess of the climatic norm in 2021 had a multidirectional effect on plankton. The intensive development of algae, favorable for the development of zooplankton, expand from the coastal zone to the seaward area to depths of 40 m. At the same time, there was a decrease in the abundance of the largest and most valuable zooplankton species (Pseudocalanus elongatus and others) for planktophagous fish. Such changes in plankton have been observed in recent decades and were clearly manifested in the anomalously warm 2021.","PeriodicalId":122322,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Oceanological Research","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124207566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Modern unmanned surface vehicles (UAVs) allow one to move echo sounders, conductometers, samplers and other measuring instruments on the surface of the sea and carry out measurements without direct human involvement. Their use accelerates the organization and course of expeditions, expands the research area: due to their small size they can work in shallow areas with complex orography, where it is dangerous to use vessels with a crew. However, in the domestic oceanological practice there is no universal and cost-effective import substitution platform for solving such a wide range of tasks. This paper presents the results of the development of a universal parameter registration module, a mounting module for instruments and an automatic navigation unit for use in surface unmanned vehicles for hydrographic and oceanological research. The diagrams of the printed circuit board, algorithms of operation and examples of use in the coastal zone of the Black Sea and on some hydrological objects in expeditions of various duration are given. The developed module has a high potential for modernization, low cost and is easily replicated for use both as part of various unmanned complexes and in scientific and methodological tasks.","PeriodicalId":122322,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Oceanological Research","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123754395","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The article describes the path of formation and professional transformation of a graduate of the Faculty of Mechanics and Mathematics of Lomonosov Moscow State University, who in the course of his work made a significant contribution to World science in the field of geodynamics. In particular, he created the prerequisites for a significant revision of the physical foundations of the theory of lithospheric plate tectonics and its transformation into the theory of tectonics of deformable lithospheric plates. The second important achievement of L. I. Lobkovsky is the creation of a keyboard model of island-arc systems and the trigger effect of energy unloading in subduction zones. The most important geopolitical achievement of the hero of the day is the creation of a model for the development of the Canadian Basin and the Arctic Ocean in the Mesozoic and Cenozoic. This made it possible to substantiate the continental nature of the vast areas of the Arctic for the declaration of Russian priority over them in the relevant UN commission.","PeriodicalId":122322,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Oceanological Research","volume":"225 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114424865","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The study is based on numerical experiments using the one-dimensional ocean turbulence model GOTM. Based on data on climatic variability in the study area for the modern and projection periods, three series of numerical experiments were carried out. The first one is modeling the modern thermal regime of the Small Aral Sea under the influence of climate reanalysis, the second and third series are modeling the future variability of the thermal regime of waters under the influence of predictive climate scenarios. According to the obtained model estimates, within the framework of two prognostic scenarios, in the next decade in the Small Aral Sea, a weakening of vertical mixing processes is expected, which will lead to an increase in thermal stratification in summer, which will be accompanied by a significant decrease in near-bottom temperatures relative to the current period and heat accumulation mainly in the upper meters of the water. The corresponding quantitative and qualitative assessments are given. An assessment is made of the influence of possible changes in the level of the reservoir surface on its thermal regime.","PeriodicalId":122322,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Oceanological Research","volume":"84 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127850476","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis of unique highprecision CTD data and hydrochemical indicators, together with a comparison with the results of previous studies, allowed us to obtain valuable information about the interannual variability of thermohaline characteristics of Antarctic shelf water on the shelf in the central part of the Davis Sea, to determine the structure of water masses on the slope and shelf in the western part of the Davis Sea and the eastern part of the Mawson Sea. Cascading and dense Antarctic shelf water not been recorded during the research. The thermohaline characteristics of Antarctic shelf water recorded in the central part of the Davis Sea in 2001, 2017, 2021 and dense Antarctic shelf water presence in the basins in February 2022 suggest the participation of Davis Sea shelf water in the ventilation of deep waters and suggest an irregular nature of the source of Antarctic bottom waters in the Davis Sea.","PeriodicalId":122322,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Oceanological Research","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121821016","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Synthetic aperture radar (SAR) images from the European satellites Sentinel-1A and Sentinel-1B and a geoinformation approach were used for this that makes it possible to fairly unambiguously determine oil spill causes and their sources. During the monitoring 2584 oil spill patches was detected on 730 SAR images whose total area is about 4972 km2. It is shown that the main oil spill source in the Gulf of Oman is intensive shipping by sea, including the tanker fleet, and the United Arab Emirates waters and the approaches to the Strait of Hormuz turned out to be the most polluted waters of the gulf.","PeriodicalId":122322,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Oceanological Research","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-04-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124027447","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
