Theoretically, it is intended to evaluate compliance with the postulates of the Environmental Kuznets Curve (ECK). The econometric strategy consisted of a basic regression model with panel data and the Feasible Generalized Least Squares model. Our findings provided strong support for the inverted-U relationship between Gross Domestic Product (GDP) per capita and WEEE per capita in the 11 Latin American countries. E-waste generation initially increases with increasing GDP, but when GDP reaches a certain level of growth (tipping point), the amounts of e-waste generated no longer increase despite higher economic growth. Our results serve as input to propose policies that consider environmental problems on the agendas of the countries, specifically those related to waste generation. Expanding waste collection that can achieve high e-waste recycling rates is a pending task for policymakers.","PeriodicalId":121747,"journal":{"name":"2023 18th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"2013 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125666498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, its application to Business Intelligence suggests a transfer of concepts typically associated to the relational database world. To build data warehouses in Business Intelligence it is employed the dimensional model. One of its goals is to facilitate the interactive exploration of data. The adaptation of the dimensional model to NoSQL databases is relevant given its proliferation and the data navigation advantages that the dimensional model provides. It is therefore urgent to make more studies that allow assessing this feasibility. In this work, a dimensional model is extrapolated to a model in a document data warehouse. The rising questions are: (i) using document databases what is the feasibility of models that simulate the dimensional model; (ii) what the specificities in data preparation phase are; (iii) what the degree of simplicity in writing queries for data analysis is and (iv) what about its performance. In this context, the same set of analysis questions are applied to two systems: one called ROLAP (relational) and the other DOLAP (document). The results achieved reveal that data analysis queries for document warehouses are not complex, although with different execution times. On the other hand, depending on the adoption of the type of dimensional model, there are different efforts in the data preparation phase.","PeriodicalId":121747,"journal":{"name":"2023 18th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"110 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127988393","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Its implementation has improved the collaboration and integration in the design context, increasing the accuracy of the project preparation and the decreasing additional costs and delays of the construction work. The main objective of the present research is to provide an overview of the state of the art of BIM applications, namely, concerning the construction planning. For that, the generation of a BIM 3D model, involving the disciplines of architecture, structures and water supply system was performed. After, over the model a conflict analysis was applied, in order to verify the consistency of all the disciplines, when linked together. In order to obtain a visual simulation of the construction process, the correspondent 4D BIM model was also generated. Along the development of the study, several BIM software were applied over a case study. The main remarks of the capacities of the software, as well as the benefits and limitations verified were identified.","PeriodicalId":121747,"journal":{"name":"2023 18th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121753867","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since its inception both academia and industry debate the different shades that agile processes and technical practices play in the day-to-day of students and professional developers. Efforts have been made to understand the pros and cons of the Test Driven Development (TDD) practice to develop software as part of a professional environment. Despite the effort of practitioners to list the TDD anti-patterns that unveil undesired effects in the code when practicing TDD, work is needed to understand the causes that lead to that. In that sense, this paper proposes a research project that explores the TDD anti-patterns context and what leads practitioners to face them in the software development context. As a result, we expect to offer a TDD maturity framework to help practitioners in the process of writing code guided by tests and prevent the addition of anti-patterns.","PeriodicalId":121747,"journal":{"name":"2023 18th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"167 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132060602","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This presents a new challenge for the assertive development of materials as a complementary activity to the planning of the didactic sequence carried out by the teacher to propose a learning path that contemplates real or simulated activities typical of the future professional context. In this work, the authors develop a learning object (LO) for teaching the Unified Modeling Language Use Cases technique in competency-based training environments. To this end, they apply a methodology that makes it possible to identify the general and specific competencies associated with the OA. At the same time, the methodology takes into account both the technical and pedagogical perspectives of this process, promoting the development of a quality object. The object developed is intended to be included in an Open Access Institutional Repository (OAIR) so that it is available for different subjects corresponding to STEM careers (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics).","PeriodicalId":121747,"journal":{"name":"2023 18th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129966620","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This article analyses the data that crosses the answers to an online questionnaire with the results of a focus group, instruments applied to first-year undergraduate students in the scope of media consumption habits and practices. The results show the prevalence of screens, especially social media and television, as means of information consumption and point to the prevalence of the smartphone and the replacement of entertainment consumption on television by streaming platforms. The relevance and contribution of this study involve the idea of change in consumption habits, with special emphasis on a generational group, which is in training to exercise a profession in social communication. Given the change in the communicational paradigm, media education continues to play a fundamental role in developing critical thinking to understand this change and its implications in the current society of screens, where information overload reigns and consumption is differentiated.","PeriodicalId":121747,"journal":{"name":"2023 18th Iberian Conference on Information Systems and Technologies (CISTI)","volume":"15 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-06-20","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133991805","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
