Le choix de l’utilisation d’une méthodologie appropriée au regard des objectifs de l’étude revêt ainsi une importance particulière. Cet article propose une revue des méthodes longitudinales permettant de modéliser les processus émotionnels en se centrant sur trois approches prometteuses et relativement récentes : les analyses de classe latente de courbes de croissances (ACLCC), les analyses de transitions de profils latents (ATPL) et les analyses multiniveaux. Les avantages et les inconvénients de chacune sont discutés en s’appuyant sur des exemples issus de la littérature scientifique. Tandis que les ATPL permettent de capturer la dynamique des profils en abordant le concept émotionnel dans son ensemble, les ACLCC sont davantage pertinentes pour modéliser l’hétérogénéité de la dynamique d’une émotion par l’identification de différentes trajectoires. Enfin, les analyses multiniveaux sont particulièrement utiles pour distinguer ce qui relève d’un contexte social (e.g., centre d’entraînement intensif) de ce qui relève de l’individu. Une attention particulière a été accordée à la pertinence de ces méthodes pour examiner le rôle du contexte social interpersonnel dans la complexité des processus émotionnels.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130718182","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This protocol was carried out by eleven male trained cyclists and trail runners (age: 27 ± 12 years old), who tested, in random order, either DCL bar containing flavonoids or a white chocolate bar (placebo) before a simulated competition of knee extension force. Their precompetitive state anxiety (SA), blood pressure, heart rate variability (HRV), and electroencephalography (EEG) responses were measured before and after eating the bars. The maximal voluntary force (MVC) of the knee extensor and the time to exhaustion (TTE) at 20% of MVC were recorded 2 h after eating the bars. Compared to placebo, DCL decreases significantly (p < 0.05) the SA and the systolic blood pressure. An increase of α and a decrease of β waves with a moderate effect size (d = 0.7) were found in the prefrontal cortex, whereas no significant change was observed for HRV and MVC. However, an increase (+22%) of TTE with a moderate effect size (d = 0.5) was found. These findings suggest the potential role of flavonoids to decrease precompetitive anxiety as a complementary routine to improve strength performance.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134029214","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

La prescription d’AP adaptée pour les patients atteints d’une affection de longue durée est inscrite dans la loi depuis 2016, et les premières études montrent qu’elle serait efficace pour augmenter le niveau d’AP dans d’autres pays. L’OMS caractérise la prescription de manière générale à travers six étapes. L’objectif de cette étude est d’observer et comparer à travers les critères définis par l’OMS comment, au sein du CHRU Nancy Brabois et l’Institut de Cancérologie de Lorraine (ICL), l’activité physique adaptée est prescrite aux patients atteints de cancer et quel est le parcours des patients suite à cette prescription. Huit professionnels de santé ont été interrogés. Une approche déductive a été mobilisée pour coder les unités de sens au sein des différentes étapes de la prescription. Les résultats montrent que les étapes 1, 2, 6 sont effectués lors des consultations par les professionnels. Néanmoins, le décret de loi n°2016-1990 n’a pas modifié les habitudes d’information et de prescription des professionnels de santé, et sans la légitimité de la prescription, l’AP reste un supplément au parcours de soins plutôt que l’une de ses composantes.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"31 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133964036","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Afin de prévenir et de limiter ces effets délétères, il est recommandé d’avoir une activité physique adaptée régulière. Cependant, l’accès à un entraînement efficace n’est pas toujours possible pour les seniors. Dans une première partie, nous examinons donc l’état des connaissances scientifiques sur les différentes modalités d’entraînement au domicile d’un public âgé. En l’absence de supervision, il apparaît que les bénéfices associés à la pratique sont moindres et que l’adhésion au programme est réduite. Dans le cadre d’entraînements à domicile semi-supervisés, il semble que les bénéfices sur la santé soient encore une fois faibles. Lors d’entraînements à domicile avec supervision à distance, l’adhésion et les effets sur la santé semblent cette fois plus importants. Ainsi, afin de répondre aux problématiques relevées par cette revue, dans la seconde partie de ce travail nous présentons un projet novateur d’accompagnement à distance par un professionnel au moyen d’un système de visioconférence collectif. La mise en place de ce projet est prometteuse puisque les résultats préliminaires montrent des taux d’adhésion, d’observance et un niveau de satisfaction très élevés.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124063662","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, specific guidelines outlining correct levels of averaging have not been discussed. The aim of this study was to assess error differences using multiple-trial and multiple-breath averaging systems, and make recommendations for future VO2 kinetics research. Eight male subjects were recruited for this study. Following a maximal cycle test to ascertain each subject’s ventilation threshold, eight identical repetition cycling exercise bouts were administered. The bouts consisted of 6-minute at 85% of the subject’s ventilation threshold. Firstly, multiple-trial and multiple-breath data were processed using traditional methods. As well, data were fit using a mono-exponential model to derive tau. Data for all levels of multiple-trial and multiple-breath methods were compared to an 8-trial and 13-breath average, respectively. Reduction in error from the 3-trial average and a 3-breath average represented ∼68% and ∼70% of total error reduction, respectively. Tau tended to increase with increasing breath averaging and decrease with increasing trial averaging. There is negligible benefit to averaging more than 3 repeat trials in VO2 kinetics research. Breath averaging beyond 3-breaths artificially increases tau.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"70 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130030566","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, there is little research examining coaches’ use of specific strategies to regulate their athletes’ emotions. The purpose of the present study was to explore the strategies coaches used to try and regulate their athletes’ emotions, and to explore the relationship and contextual factors influencing coaches’ IER strategy use. A longitudinal multiple case study approach was used (Stake, R.E. (2006). Multiple case study analysis. New York: The Guilford Press) with five cases, each consisting of one male coach and two individual varsity sport athletes (N = 15). Participants completed individual interviews, a two-week audio diary period, and a follow-up interview. Data were inductively and deductively analyzed and a conceptual model was developed outlining athletes’ emotions and emotion regulation, coaches’ IER, the coach-athlete relationship, and contextual factors. Participants described a bidirectional association between the coach-athlete relationship and coaches’ IER. A number of factors influenced athletes’ and coaches’ use of emotion regulation strategies and contributed to the quality of the coach-athlete relationship. The IER strategies that coaches used may reflect instrumental, performance-related motives, and coaches’ IER efforts may also contribute to coaches’ emotional labour.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"190 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122582743","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, we aim to characterize the experience of volleyball coaches immerged in a 3D volleyball game to see if the device could be a credible tool in a coaching training program. Seventeen volleyball coaches were immerged into three sequences of a 3D volleyball game with Oculus Rift headset before completing a perceptions’ questionnaire composed by 33 items concerning users’ experience factors and 3 open-ended questions. The results show positive scores for the immersion (M = 6.49, SD = 2.84), positive emotions (M = 5.24, SD = 2.69), judgment (M = 7.70, SD = 1.82) and flow (M = 5.83, SD = 2.75) even if this last result has to be taken carefully. The answers to the open-ended questions confirm those data. Despite some limitations, the link between the results and some important notions of the behaviour change as the intrinsic motivation, the self-determination theory and the learning outcomes seems to emphasize the benefits of an implementation of the device into a coaching training program. Nevertheless, this use has to be limited to the training of observations of the environment rather than the intervention training because of the lack of control on the environment and interaction allows by the 3D device.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114596639","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Starting from 75 series measured in supine, standing and submaximal exercise situations in 25 healthy male subjects, we generated 15 new R-R time series with accuracy from ±2 to 30 ms. HRV analyses was performed on the 1200 obtained series and compared with the results of the original series. The results showed that during supine, HRV indexes were moderately affected by inaccuracy up to ±30 ms. However, during standing, the indexes were affected to a greater degree and it was even more evident during exercise: in this later case significant difference in the root mean square of successive standard deviations (rMSSD), a commonly used parasympathetic index in sport sciences for both health and performance purposes, were observed when inaccuracy was equal or greater than 4 ms. Also, a relationship between inaccuracy and rMSSD was highlighted: the lower the rMSSD, the greater the error. Our study underscored the importance of the accuracy of R-R measurement for heart rate variability and provides recommendation regarding technology and measurement errors on final results.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123553975","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Air bike is a cardio machine that has lately become quite popular among both professional athletes and general public. It is a type of stationary bike equipped with two handles allowing also upper-body activity. The aim of this study was to verify efficiency of stress ramp test to failure using air bike and to assess correlation between air bike performance and strength, endurance, and anthropometric parameters. The experimental group comprised 20 physically active individuals (average age: 22.1). The spiroergometric test protocol on air bike consisted of 3-minutes levels with no break. The testing led to high physiological values (HRmax = 189.7 bpm, RERmax: 1.12), the average test duration was 14 minutes. The most statistically significant connection (p = 0.01) with air bike performance was identified in fat-free mass (FFM) (0.86), back squat (0.83), bench press (0.84), 2 km row (−0.85). A less significant connection was discovered with VO2peak (0.68). Air bike was proven a suitable method for stress testing. Air bike performance depends mostly on FFM and strength parameters. Due to its specific usage (lower cadence, more strength focused work) that differs from running or stationary bike, it can be a suitable alternative for certain individuals or specific groups.","PeriodicalId":121091,"journal":{"name":"Movement & Sport Sciences - Science & Motricité","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123315381","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
