It examines their roles, motivations, and the socio-economic implications. The study is anchored on the Structural Strain and Sex Role theories. Utilizing an explanatory sequential mixed-methods design of the quantitative and qualitative data collection procedure, the respondents were purposively sampled. Findings of the research revealed that although girls' participation in cybercrime is relatively lower compared to boys, their roles are nonetheless significant and multifaceted, encompassing activities such as romance scams, phishing, online fraud, identity theft, and cyber-enabled financial crimes. Additionally, girls provide psychological support to their male counterparts, often engaging in domestic chores and serving as \"sex tools,\" which facilitates the smooth operation of these networks. The findings indicate that motivations for girls' involvement in cybercrime include economic vulnerability, peer influence, poverty, access to Western education and technology, and the anonymity of the internet. The socio-economic implications were discovered to be profound, disrupting educational paths of girls, inflicting psychological damage, and perpetuating cycles of poverty and social instability. The study concludes that cybercriminal networks have devastating consequences on girls and thus, it was proposed that targeted interventions focusing on education, mental health support, and socio-economic empowerment are crucial in mitigating the risks and providing alternative pathways for at-risk girls.","PeriodicalId":120234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"2 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-22","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141816284","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Even though traditional land tenure systems and customary land tenure systems existed before now, the promulgation of the Land Use Act introduced a new system of land ownership which repealed every other existing laws and introduced uniformity in the land ownership systems as practicable across the country. This paper examines the traditional land tenure systems applicable in Igbakwu community, Ayamelum Local Government Area, of Anambra State together with the practicable general land tenure systems of the South East Zone, Nigeria while comparing it with the Land Use Act, 1978. The major aim of the paper is to analyse the difference between traditional land tenure system and the Land Use Act, No 6 of 1978 while enumerating the salient points obtainable in both systems. Members of clans and villages were interviewed while secondary data was obtained from textbooks and journals. Recommendation includes revision of the existing laws through consultations with professionals to reach a consensus and prevent the law from veering off its original objectives. The study however highlights the need for a more probable tenure system to tackle land distribution due to increase in population.","PeriodicalId":120234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":" 2","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141822849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study adopted the correlational research design; the population of this study consisted of 28 registered food and beverage manufacturing firms in South-South, Nigeria. One hundred and ninety-six (196) managers and senior marketing personnel of the registered food and beverage manufacturing firms on the basis of 7 managers and senior marketing personnel per headquarter branch constituted the study subjects. The responses received from the data were analyzed using mean and standard deviation while the hypotheses were tested using the Pearson Product Moment Correlation. Based on the results of the analysis carried out, it was confirmed that electronic marketing has a positive and significant relationship with business success of food and beverage manufacturing firms in the South-South zone of Nigeria. Based on these findings, it was concluded that electronic marketing has a positive and significant relationship with business success of food and beverage manufacturing firms in the South-South zone of Nigeria. The study recommends amongst others that food and beverage manufacturing firms in Nigeria, particularly those that are currently experiencing low business success, should adopt electronic marketing such as content marketing, e-mail marketing and social media marketing as it would increase their level of business success.","PeriodicalId":120234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"26 8","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141659826","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Primary data necessary for this study were collected from patients, health workers and residents of Kogi East through the administration of questionnaires, personal observations and obtaining of satellite imageries for creation of digital health facilities distribution map of the study area, while the secondary sources includes published documents. A total of 400 questionnaires were administered; however, only 395 were returned for analysis. Results were presented in both tables and charts while the hypothesis was tested using Correlation Analysis. Findings from this research revealed that majority of the respondents (58.80%) do not patronize any health facilities due to the high cost of treatment. The study also found that the major illness that affects respondents in Anyigba is Malaria Fever (76.5%); the result also shows 87.5% of the respondents disclosing that money has prevented them from patronizing health facilities. The study further found that the socio-economic characteristics of the residents/patients play a significant role in determining the frequency of visits to healthcare facilities; this is substantiated with the Pearson correlation test result that revealed a significant relationship between patronage pattern and monthly income of the respondents. This research also revealed that the lower the incomes of an individual, the limited access such individual would have to health facilities and vice versa. Given the z-score of 0.288134438445, the distribution pattern of the health facilities does not appear to be significantly different than random, as the healthcare facilities map also support the above claim. It is therefore recommended that efforts should be put in place to improve the socio-economic status of individuals so as to improve their access and utilization of healthcare facilities. Government at all levels as well as the organized private sector should carry out massive public awareness on the importance of health insurance scheme.","PeriodicalId":120234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"9 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141688793","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Most research focuses on development initiatives for all women generally whilst following on interventions by the civil society to the relative exclusion of disabled women. Hence, this study was influenced by the need to examine the services of the government through the Ministry of Women Affairs in ensuring inclusion of women with disabilities in development initiatives in particular Internal Savings and Lending Schemes (ISALs) that are being carried out in Harare. The study was informed by the intersectionality approach and used a qualitative research approach in which a case study design was employed. The study involved fourteen participants who included women with disabilities, Community Development Officers/Coordinators (CDOs/ CDCs), Provincial Development Officer (PDO) and other professionals from disability rights agencies. Qualitative data was gathered through interviews, and findings were analyzed using thematic analysis. The major services that were found included mobilizing and training women in communities and monitoring ISAL activities. It was revealed that inclusion of women with disabilities in ISALS is still low and in gradual progression. The study also showed major challenges that the ministry faces in their efforts to include women with disabilities in ISALs, which include shortage of resources to fund reasonable accommodation and inclusive ISALS, lack of support from the families and communities of women with disabilities, stigmatization, and discrimination. The researchers went on to make recommendations towards the implementation of ISALS to promote full inclusion of women with disabilities.","PeriodicalId":120234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":" 36","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-05-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"141000837","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

BVAS was designed as a game changer since it could identify, authenticate, and validate prospective voters to ensure free, fair, and credible elections in the country. However, the outcome of elections nationwide and the pending litigations on election fraud and integrity are contemporary discourses among scholars and citizens. Therefore, this study examines the impact of the bimodal voters’ accreditation system on election integrity in Nasarawa State, Nigeria with a specific focus on the 2023 general election. This study adopted a descriptive research design, primary data were collected through a self-structured questionnaire and interview guide to elicit information from the respondents. The study utilised technology theory as the theoretical framework for the study. Multi-stage sampling techniques were used to select a sample size of ninety (90) respondents for questionnaire administration. The findings of the study revealed that the bimodal voters' accreditation system has eradicated overvoting/double voting, increased public participation in the electoral process, enhanced the public level of trust and confidence in the electoral process and improved electoral transparency and integrity in the study area. The study concluded that though the bimodal accreditation system has helped improve the electoral system, however, there is a need to improve its effectiveness to prevent loopholes. The study recommends among others, the need for the autonomy of electoral umpires to prevent political meddling.","PeriodicalId":120234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"30 4","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2024-02-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"140444449","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The complication of diverse faith, beliefs, traditions, culture, language and mainly the threat of religious fundamentalism and extremism, thus brought about many ugly flashpoints and situations in many areas across Nigeria. This study seeks to unearth the significance and need for commitment of the various stakeholders towards addressing the challenges occasioned by this plurality of religious faiths in terms of the efforts required from religious organizations, traditional institutions, government and non-governmental organizations including Christian organizations and Muslim groups. Since religion plays a great role in the politics, social and security of lives of Nigerians as a nation, there can therefore be no sustainable peace among people of this great nation without constant dialogue among them, hence the necessity for this study. This work employed the use of primary and secondary sources in gathering of information. With the widespread use of social media among the youth, platforms like TikTok have emerged as potential sources of information, creating new opportunities for disseminating knowledge on sensitive topics, such as sexual health and contraception. The main objectives of the study was to evaluate how exposure to contraceptive-related contents on TikTok influence female undergraduates’ awareness and responsible use of contraceptives among COOU female students. The study adopted the uses and gratifications theory in carrying out the study. The survey research method was adopted with a sample size of 400 drawn using Taro Yaame’s formula from a population of 12,552. A structured survey questionnaire is employed to collect data from a representative sample of COOU female students, assessing their knowledge and understanding of contraceptives before and after exposure to contraceptive-related content on TikTok. Preliminary findings indicate that TikTok plays a significant role in increasing the awareness of contraceptive methods among COOU female students. The platform's engaging and informative content fosters an informal learning environment that facilitates discussions around sensitive topics, breaking down barriers and reducing stigmas associated with contraception. Moreover, TikTok's interactive nature allows for peer-to-peer communication, enabling students to share experiences and advice, leading to enhanced knowledge exchange and increased confidence in contraceptive decision-making. The research recommended that TikTok creators should ensure that the information shared on contraceptives is accurate and reliable and partner with experts to add credibility to the content.","PeriodicalId":120234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"338 12","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-12-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139152241","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This makes every nation of the world a unique entity. Rather than a blessing, cultural diversity has become a tool of oppression, domination, nepotism, injustice, disparity and discrimination in the hands of political actors and influential citizens in Nigeria. In the fight against police brutality that gave birth to a dramatic event tagged “End Sars Protest” on 20th December 2020, Nigerian youths demonstrated unity in diversity. On the contrary, the same youths are major instruments of various secessionist movements and agitating groups such as Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), Movement for The Actualization of Sovereign State of Biafra (MASSON), The Emancipation of Niger Delta (MEND), and Yoruba Nation. What a paradoxical situation! Against this background, this study focused on youth’s awareness of Nigeria's cultural diversity and its implication for leadership development. The study explored social leadership development theory as a theoretical framework while adopting descriptive survey research design and structured questionnaires to gather information. The population for the study is comprised of the members of the Coalition of Nigerian Youth on Security and Safety Affairs (CONYSSA) alongside the National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN). As a result, the study adopted a purposive stratified random sampling method to select a specified number of respondents from each youth organisation within the coalition and National Youth Council of Nigeria. Then, the data collected were analysed by Microsoft Data Analysis Tool Pack and Integrated with Microsoft Excel for easy display and graphical illustration. From the findings, the study recommends that youth organisations in Nigeria should adopt a cultural approach to leadership development in their training schemes. Also, the government of the Nigerian public and private sectors should make a policy of cultural inclusion and create a sensitisation platform to educate people on the uniqueness of Nigeria's cultural diversity.","PeriodicalId":120234,"journal":{"name":"Journal of Advanced Research and Multidisciplinary Studies","volume":"38 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2023-11-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"139277081","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
