The result of our investigation shows the values of thermo physical parameters of the sample materials as 0.0403Wm -1 K -1 being the mean thermal conductivity value, bulk density of 188. 8kgm-3 and thermal diffusively value being 8.2485 x 10 -8 m 2 s -1 . The values are within the values for commonly used insulating materials. Comparing the rate of cooling as well as heat absorption into the material as lagging material with the performance of fiberglass and cork, Alate's wing is adjudged to be a potential insulating raw material.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121096357","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Cuttings were taken in the month of February from coratina plant and dipped for 10 seconds in the required IBA solutions. The highest survival percentage, shoot formation, number of roots formation was maximum in 4g/L treated hardwood cuttings. The maximum numbers of branches were observed in hardwood cuttings as compared to softwood cuttings. It was concluded that either type of olive cutting treated with IBA solution 4g/L showed best results to propagate coratina olive.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121191364","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Applications of animal genetics and breeding have significantly increased in line speed for poultry operation. In this study aims at reviewing production factors that influence egg quality traits across the globe. The production factors so far utilized were classified into three main categories and presented based on their influencing capacity. For this purpose, two types of search criteria to find publications relevant to the scope of this review were employed. The first type was an automatic search performed on the following publishers' databases: ScienceDirect, Google's scholar, researcher gates, academia. The second type was a manual search on conferences, recent theses and dissertation that have not been published in journals from numerous Babcock University. Generally, 23 publications were reported for the breed; 17 for housing, and 19 for age of the breed after excluding studies that do not focus explicitly on breed, housing and age of the bird as production factors that influenced egg quality traits out of 183 potential relevant articles identified from January 2001 to December 2016. Thus, this review would provide animal genetics and breeding researchers in terms of identifying the most potent breed, adequate housing system and precise age for optimum production of birds with high quality.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-10","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124716494","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It relates climate change to the conflict, insecurity and crises that have been witnessed in the region in the past years. It examines the implications of the change in the grazing pattern of the pastoralists and herdsmen in the time of recurrent drought and dry spells in Karamoja on the security of the region and other communities in Uganda and beyond. It relates the interplay of climate change, environmental security and food security to human security in Karamoja region. It also through focus group discussion (FGD) conducted in Kaabong District of the Karamoja region, identifies the presumed impacts of climate change on the environment and the people alongside its socio-economic implications. In the end, the study suggests proactive environmental security programmes in the Karamoja region which are expected to encourage sustainable mitigation and adaptation strategies in its communities, which will encourage its regional peace, security and stability.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129717353","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Laminar size, shape, marginal type, leaf length, width, petiole length, leaf base angle and leaf apex angle were observed and measured. The relationships were illustrated by differences of radar shape. Transverse sections of the leaves were done using wax method. Three regions from each leaf were sectioned apex, middle and base. The epidermises formed of one layer of small polygonal cells covered by mucilage, large numbers of epidermal hairs appeared. The two leaves are dorsiventral. The vascular bundles arch shaped surrounded by collenchymas and ground parenchyma. Xylem consists of radial rows of cells. The phloem is found beneath. The structures at the apex, middle and bases of the leaves are similar, trichomes are denser in the middle region followed by the upper and lastly the lower region. Calcium oxalate druses are appeared in some parenchyma cells of the mid rib region, and these are of large numbers in the basal region.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-11-02","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128182693","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

[0, 1]] Truncated Frechet Gamma ([0, 1]] TFG) and truncated Frechet inverted Gamma ([0, 1]] TFIG) distributions are discussed as special cases. The cumulative distribution function, the rth moment, the mean, the variance, the skewness, the kurtosis, the mode, the median, the characteristic function, the reliability function and the hazard rate function are obtained for the distributions under consideration. It is well known that an item fails when a stress to which it is subjected exceeds the corresponding strength. In this sense, strength can be viewed as \"resistance to failure.\" Good design practice is such that the strength is always greater than the expected stress. The safety factor can be defined in terms of strength and stress as strength/stress. So, the [0, 1]] TFG strength-stress and the [0, 1]] TFIG strength-stress models with different parameters will be derived here. The Shannon entropy and Relative entropy will be derived also.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-30","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133976884","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It accounts for over 60% outpatient visit and 30% hospital admission in Nigeria. Ineffective treatment of malaria is also one of the factors responsible for its prevalence. The prevalence of malaria and treatment procurement was studied in Ekiti state, Nigeria. The study was carried out using well-structured questionnaire comprising of three sections A to C, Socio-economic, input and output data; data on method, cost of treatment of malaria and expenditure were obtained. Multistage random sampling technique was adopted. The result obtained showed that males with percentage prevalence of 53% were more infected than females with 47%. Respondent with symptoms of fever and chills was 48.2% while 51.8% complained of headache and pains. 80.3%% of the respondents have knowledge of malaria transmission while 19.7% have no idea. 46.7% of respondents spent less than 1000 naira for treatment procurement while 53.3% spent more than 1000naira. However, there was a significant difference (p<0.05) between males and female's susceptibility to malaria disease. Therefore, as at the time of study, there is prevalence of malaria in the communities despite the knowledge of the respondents on transmission of malaria and treatment procured.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123821732","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It effect on the victims has been proven negative, with consequences like health effect including financial effect been a drawback, acting like a barrier to the ideal development of an individual adolescent. Wrong sexual behavior has been found to be on the increase, forcing adolescents to drop-out of school, exhibiting behaviors that do not conform to the development of the society. Result of this research findings shows the impact of wrong sexual behavior to include: Disregard for cultural/societal moral values, teenage/adolescent pregnancies, rapid increase in STDs and HIV/AIDS transmission, eagerness to practices illicit sexual acts, wrong conception about the opposite sex including sexual intercourse addiction with prostitution tendencies. The high positive percentages achieved from statistical analysis (respondent view-point) presents these impact as been on the increase, capable of dragging the society towards ruin. Recommendations of this study presents a view that the problem of adolescent wrong sexual behavior can be control , presenting guides like proper guidance and counseling , proper monitoring, aggressive sex education, reawakening of traditional African moral and value teachings, inclusion of sex education in religious teachings including proper dressing and restricting of adolescents from pornographic materials.","PeriodicalId":119953,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Advances in Scientific Research","volume":null,"pages":null},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-10-25","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115684062","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
