This article describes the development and facilitation of a low-fidelity simulation used to educate nurses about identified gaps in standardized care during stroke admissions on a medical-surgical stroke unit at Legacy Emanuel Medical Center. The simulation was developed for use by novice and expert medical-surgical stroke nurses simultaneously. With the use of Bloom's Revised Taxonomy (\u0000 Anderson et al., 2001\u0000 ), roles within the simulation were tailored to encourage the learning of nurses with varying levels of expertise. Overall, learners appeared to benefit from the class, which included the stroke admission simulation. Mean test scores increased from 55% pretest to 80% posttest. Additionally, 98% of learners found the simulation and lecture moderately helpful or extremely helpful.\u0000 \u0000 [\u0000 J Contin Educ Nurs.\u0000 202x;5x(x):xx–xx.]\u0000 \u0000

The goal of this article is to detail the challenges experienced when sampling and surveying newly licensed RNs who entered the health care environment during the coronavirus disease (COVID-19) pandemic. To create a random sample of this population, all 51 U.S. state boards of nursing were contacted. State boards of nursing are the best resource for this information, but obtaining contact information, soliciting a response, and dealing with privacy laws as well as the cost of the lists reduced the survey frame. Of the 51 state boards, eight provided usable lists of participants. Obtaining a sampling frame was challenging. Once created, other issues arose. Finding ways to obtain random sampling lists of RNs and encouraging nurses to participate in research are key elements of addressing issues in health care today.\u0000 \u0000 [\u0000 J Contin Educ Nurs.\u0000 202x;5x(x):xx–xx.]\u0000 \u0000

Neonatal intensive care unit caregivers competent in providing neonatal resuscitation decrease perinatal mortality and improve neonatal outcomes. Infrequency of resuscitation events, lack of repetition, and inexperience leave caregivers feeling un-prepared for emergency situations. There is a need for educational strategies to maintain competency and increase confidence and comfort level.\u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 This quality improvement project used a pre-post survey design. Among certified registered nurse anesthetists (CRNAs), skill decay can lead to negative results. One method that has been shown to mitigate skill decay is low-dose, high-frequency (LDHF) simulation. There is a gap in the LDHF simulation literature regarding CRNAs to determine its effectiveness in reducing skill decay or increasing confidence levels.\u0000 \u0000 \u0000 \u0000 This study used a quasi-experimental pretest-posttest follow-up design.
