Stagnant water or prolonged flood water is known as public health threat or major environmental hazard. Meanwhile, dam flooding is a rapid and uncontrolled release of reservoir volume leads to severe flood in which there will be a significant impact at the downstream, specifically towards the people and environment of the affected region. Apart from causing severe flood, dam flooding also can accumulate stagnant water within a second or worsen the stagnant water if it already exists due to heavy rainfall. This paper is to explain briefly the potential and ongoing research of stagnant water due to dam flooding.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124670412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is developed by approaching the evolutionary theory signifying the process of learning, adaptation and selection between cellular operators and the market. In our model, the Quality of Service mediates such evolutionary features, in which the operators will conduct learning process from the market as their environment. The fitness of the system will be achieved through a certain mechanism of selection and survival. Consequently, the success of service innovation strategy would be determined by certain parameters including quality, customer care, service coverage and tariff. Based on such model, the explanatory concept of 4G technological management is proposed.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"104 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115664394","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Other than that, it also aims to examine the effect of social value on the cognitive-affective model (perceived quality and emotional value) through individual characteristic of Saudi women's purchase intention towards luxury fashion brand. The researcher will study on how the individual characteristic affects Saudi women's intention to purchase through cognitive-affective model. The reason to this in depth study of the model is because this model includes the consumers' rational and emotional value (thinking and feeling) [1]. A number of researches combine these variables together in order to understand the factor to purchase intentions in various societies, however, there are also a plenty of study regarding retail development and international brands attractiveness in Saudi Arabia. This present study focuses on the social value and individual characteristic of Saudi consumers about purchasing luxury fashion brands. This study will provide deeper understanding of women consumers' purchase intention of luxury fashion brand in Saudi Arabia. A preliminary study investigated the availability of conceptual model to understand consumer behavior toward luxury fashion brand. This study may provide valuable information and statistical analysis data for the new investors to know how to make investment in Saudi Market, and the existing investors who have already entered Saudi market and plan to move forward, as well as for those who plan to start a business to identify the affective marketing strategy regarding luxury fashion brand.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129825704","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is assumed that the emergence of Islamic financing is one of the driving factors of Syariah Compliant hotels besides the increasing number of Arab and Muslim travellers and their high purchasing power. However, specific guidelines need to be introduced in constructing this concept since there are many different opinions and inconsistencies in understanding such practices among the Syariah scholars and hotel operators. Corpus of past literatures affirmed that currently there is no standardization being introduced and most of the hotel operators came out with their own interpretation of compliant strategies. Therefore, this study empirically investigates the customers' awareness on Syariah Compliant concept and practices. Self-reported questionnaires were used to gather the data from the customers using convenience sampling. Result shows the more customers aware of Syariah Compliant concept and practices, the more they will accept it. However, it could be said that customers in general are not really comprehend about Syariah Compliant hence hotel operators are responsible to educate the customers.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130301343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Hypermarket retailing is a common industry to everyone regardless of social status, income and even background. The emergence of hypermarket retailing in Malaysia since 1993 has changed the whole retailing industry to be more efficient and effective. The five main hypermarket players in Malaysia are Carrefour, Econsave, Giant, Mydin and Tesco. There are 296 hypermarket outlets throughout Malaysia. 40.88% of the total hypermarket outlets are located in Selangor which is one of the highest population growth states. Continuous strong pushes that have been given by the consumer have influenced the hypermarket retailers to continuously move ahead through high intense competitions to compete and sustain in the industry. This research is suggesting a potential path that has never been practiced and studied in Malaysia which is electronic hypermarket as an upcoming transformation in this industry.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"83 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128561060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
