However, the field still requires a more precise process. This paper presents an integrated system formed by data preprocessing techniques and a hybrid algorithm combining Artificial Bee Colony (ABC) and Back Propagation (BP) algorithms to train artificial neural networks (ANN) for stock price forecasting. Preprocessing techniques are used on the input data starting with haar wavelet transform to eliminate noise. For illustration and evaluation purposes several stocks in Tehran Stock Exchange Market are presented. As these simulation results demonstrate, the proposed hybrid method is promising in comparison with Genetic Algorithm, standard ABC Algorithm and different variations of BP algorithm.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"102 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122550165","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Although all transition mechanisms have the same objective, the process necessitates compliance with their respective capabilities. This paper focuses on the evaluation of the transition mechanisms namely 6 to 4 tunneling in terms of data transmission. The assessment is based upon experimental work that is conducted on a controlled environment. User-to-user network performance software is used to obtain the throughput, round trip time and tunneling overhead for TCP and UDP transmission protocol. The performance of TCP and UDP through 6 to 4 tunnel is then compared over the native IPv4 and IPv6 environment. As a result, the findings prove the ease of TCP data transmission via the tunnel compared to both native networks. In contrast, the UDP implementations show the slight difference for them.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122043389","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

At the same time, knowledge management (KM) is a set of processes that includes knowledge acquisition, development, distribution, utilization, retention and measurement within the organization. This means that the successful management of IC is closely linked to the efficiency of KM processes, which, in turn, implies that the successful implementation of KM ensures the growth and renewal of IC in an organization. Banking industry is one of the most knowledge-intensive industries where IC is the key driver of value creation. Based on previous studies, this article seeks to explore the links between IC and KM in Portuguese banks, by identifying the IC resources of importance and leveraging these resources through KM capability.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"48 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128388736","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This study suggests a new conceptual approach to separating differentiate dimensions of knowledge diversity, namely intrapersonal knowledge diversity and shared knowledge diversity. The results support knowledge diversity as a two-dimensional concept, and show that intrapersonal knowledge diversity is positively related to team innovation performance, and shared knowledge diversity is not related to team innovation performance. Also, as team duration increase, the efficiency of team innovation decreases, as well as the variances of team innovation performance increases. The present study contributes to literatures by presenting an agent-based model examined different conceptualization of knowledge diversity yield different effects on team processes and outcomes, and simulated how team members transfer their knowledge based on a set of simplistic rules to generate innovative outcome.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"212 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115974853","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, the analytical studies are carried out to analyze the performance of visible light communication (VLC) system in a modern lighting layout. Begins with the calculation of received power and indoor channel gain, the performance of data transmission is calculated. The modern lighting layout using 5 number of LED lights is applied to illuminate an office area with 5m × 5m × 2.2m (length × width × height). From the analytical results, the Signal to Noise Ratio(SNR) performance is proportional with the position and number of LED lights. The additional LED light at the center of the area makes the light uniformly distributed in the range of SNR from 56 (dB) to 51 (dB). The performance of this system proves that is applicable to be implemented in the modern lighting layout design.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"76 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122183940","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is a quandary of both developed and developing nations that could bring about economic, social-cultural and political implications. Most countries, including Malaysia is currently outlining initiatives in stamping out corruption in the country. Drawn from an ongoing research, this paper aims to highlight an overview of the literature on the different conceptions on corruption and its effect on nations and societies. The Communicative Action Theory which would justify the act of corruption will also be explored. Additionally, the creation and the implementation of acceptable and effective anti-corruption measures is analysed through the Integrative Social Contract Theory. The paper contends that in the current challenging world, defining the concept of corruption and understanding its causes is problematic due to the variety of definitions from various actors and the numerous actors that could be involved in the illegal practices within the society. Also, the measurement of corruption that is not based on the magnitude of the actual level of corruption is also problematic. The predicament is further complicated by the variety of contexts in which corruption could occur and also the broader economic and political and socio-cultural interplay and implications.","PeriodicalId":117572,"journal":{"name":"2012 International Conference on Innovation Management and Technology Research","volume":"23 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2012-05-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124470096","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
