The decision tree is one of the well-known data mining methods. In general, a decision tree can be grown so as to have zero eeor on the training data set. If there is any noise in the data set or it does not completely cover the decision space, then over-fitting occurs and the tree needs to be pruned in order to accurately generalize the test data set. In this paper, we propose a pre-pruning method with majority and minority properties for the decision tree. It uses two kinds of qualifying criteria to consider whether the ration of the highest class of a subtree is the majority of the subtree or a minority of the overall tree. New measures for these are added to the classifier with the extended data expression. Experiments show that a clasifier using this pruning method can improve classification accuracy as well as reduce the size of the tree.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127328920","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because the resource in any physical cloud infrastructure is finite, resource outsourcing is an important issue in cloud computing. This study proposes a distributed scheduling approach based on game theory for the resource competition problem in the federated cloud. In this study, each job consists of one or more tasks, and has specific communication behavior between tasks. The proposed approach groups tasks according to communication behavior to minimize communication overhead. In the meantime, when multiple providers access the same resources, the resource-conflict occurs. This study also tries to achieve the Nash equilibrium to improve the benefit obtained from the federated clouds. This work evaluates some benchmarks over Taiwan Uni-Cloud. Experimental results demonstrate that the cloud provider could obtain extra profits by outsourcing resources while the federated cloud has enough remaining resources.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"103 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114606092","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One of the main challenges is to provide a good quality of service though the dynamic behavior of the network. Traditionally, tree-based model uses a push method, that broadcaster transfers data to other users. This model has low start-up delay. However, there are two main problems in this method: if the bandwidth of an internal node is low, children nodes may lose data and when an internal node failure, other nodes can't receive data until completing the recovery of the tree. On the other hand, mesh-based model uses a pull method, has low bandwidth of a neighbor node by pulling necessary data from a number of neighbor nodes. However, mesh-based model requires large buffers to support pull data from neighbor peers and there is an adjustment between minimum delay by sending pull request and overhead of whole system. So, both models have their own strengths and weaknesses. This paper proposes a new hybrid push-pull live P2P video streaming protocol called MobileCast that combines the benefits of pull and push mechanisms for live video delivery. We present new topology for P2P network with more stable and provide better video streaming quality. Our main goal is to minimize the network end-to-end delay, start up time, overhead, packet loss compared to the pure mesh networks and pure tree networks.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"24 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128322701","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, users usually mark tags only landmarks are as on only a few images in library and leave most contents untagged. If landmarks from different places are look alike, it is hard to distinguish even though surroundings are totally different. Rather than using only manual tags of highlight landmark, we proposed to use automatic tags of distinct inattentive salient regions to improve the search accuracy. Inattentive salient regions are unimportant areas to the users but highly relevant to the landmark. We determine salient regions by SIFT descriptors, find regions, find inattentive regions, and represent the relationships between inattentive regions and landmarks as an extra index. Dataset in the experiment is composed of 2,917 images of various landmark locations from public databases. The experimental results demonstrate 10% improvement of accuracy between using highlight landmark only and applying our proposed method.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128352673","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Natural disasters occurring in or originating from the oceans are largely functions of weather conditions. This paper presents a marine weather information service system based on data from the Korea Meteorological Administration (KMA), the Korea Hydrographic and the Oceanographic Administration (KHOA), and the Korea Astronomy and Space Science Institute (KASSI). This service system can provide Automatic Identification System (AIS) information as displayed on the Electronic Navigation Chart (ENC). The system provides information such as channel markers, sunrise, sunset, low tide, high tide, and weather notifications on the ENC via the Internet and mobile devices using the user's location information or their set location. A map is provided in the tile format. To improve tile-map speed, the information is transmitted only when the user finds a new location and previous data on that client has been stored. In the future, provision of AIS information through mobile devices not only can secure the safety of the ships but also do the role of E-navigation which identifies its location in advance.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"60 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130387302","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
