This paper suggests how automatically to develop a whole database schema of business process framework. To do this, we apply with Model-To-Text transformation based on metamodel to automatically build the schema based business process model. This procedure is follows: 1) defining each meta-model of the entire structure and of database schema, and 2) also defining model transformation rules for it. With of model transformation rules of this procedure, we can automatically transform through meta-modeling of an integrated information system to the schema based model information table specification defined of the entire layer.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"147 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116050993","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, developing ontology can be a very expensive process and cause additional efforts. These are major obstacles to introduce Goal-oriented requirement analysis. Furthermore, since the prioritization mechanism depends on how to define ontology, a consistent prioritization process on suggested goal candidates can be hard. In this paper, a goal modeling method based on goal accumulation according to their preference without developing its ontology is proposed. This approach provides 1) a straightforward process to suggest goal candidates without ontology development and 2) a consistent mechanism to prioritize goal candidates.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"4 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133122513","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since node fault is the most significant failure type in various wireless networks, many efforts are made to improve the resilience of VB by increasing node connectivity. However, in cognitive radio networks (CRNs), communication disruption among unlicensed users (cognitive users, CUs) is likely due to the unpredictable channel unavailability caused by licensed users (primary users, PUs). As a result, the fault-tolerance of a VB in CRNs can be greatly improved by enhancing edge connectivity. This paper investigates how to generate a fault-tolerant VB with maximum lifetime in CRNs against unforeseen PU activities. We define this problem as the maximum lifetime sturdier virtual backbone (MLSVB) problem, and propose a heuristic algorithm for it. To the best of our knowledge, this is the first work to discuss about the requirements of fault-tolerant VB in CRNs.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"143 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132774299","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This system is using Content-Based Image Retrieval System (CBIR) based on Mpeg-7 descriptors. First, low-level features are extracted from the query image without metadata and the images with similar low-level features are retrieved from the CBIR system. Metadata of the result images which are similar to the query image are extracted from the metadata database. From the resulting metadata, common keywords are extracted and proposed as the keywords for the query image.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"46 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133800733","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Specifically, the proposed scheme guarantees the end-to-end QoS of real-time applications like a movie player, while also provides reasonable latency for other applications. To this end, we analyze the program execution path of smartphones and observe two sources of unpredictable latency that may threaten the deadline-guarantee of real-time tasks. The first is the sporadic execution of garbage collection performed in NAND flash memory and the second is the time-quantum-based completely fair scheduler used in Android. Our scheme handles these situations by two architectural supports with novel mechanisms. First, we adopt high performance NVRAM as the storage of real-time applications. By storing real-time applications and their data in NVRAM, constant I/O latency is guaranteed as NVRAM does not incur garbage collection. Second, we propose a dual-purpose scheduler, in which one core is exclusively used for a real-time task. Though CPU cycles may be wasted during the I/O execution, we show that the CPU utilization is not degraded largely as NVRAM provides sufficiently fast I/O. Experimental results show that the proposed scheme reduces the deadline miss ratio of real-time applications by 92% compared to conventional blocking I/O used in Android.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"87 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126015965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

We apply our framework, which enhances performance and efficiency of memory-intensive multi-threaded applications, to Hadoop applications. The framework consists of a kernel-level thread scheduler, an application programming interface (API) for the scheduler, and a controller for the behavior of the scheduler through the API. We exploit the affinity of sibling threads, which have the same parent process and share the context, so that we can effectively exploit memory hierarchy by reducing memory-related undesirable events such as cache misses. We monitors performance metrics and automatically adjusts the behavior of the scheduler through the API to try to maximize the effectiveness of the scheduler. According to our preliminary evaluation result, our framework is promising to reduce the energy consumption of memory intensive Hadoop applications.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130262575","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Statechart diagrams are one of the pillar diagram types of the Unified Modeling Language (UML), the de-facto modeling language for object-oriented systems, used to model requirements of a system. Although statechart diagrams have received great attention from the research community, there lacks research that evaluate the cognitive effectiveness of state transition diagrams. This paper presents a scientific evaluation of the cognitive effectiveness of UML statechart diagrams. The results of the evaluation reveal several problems with the UML statechart notation that reduces their cognitive effectiveness and that should be addressed.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"108 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-07-08","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115671646","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Our main objective is to develop a methodological design strategy of IgPNNs as follows: (a) The 1st layer of the proposed network consists of Context-based Polynomial Neuron (CPN). In here, CPN is fully reflective of the structure encountered in numeric data which are granulated with the aid of Context- based Fuzzy C-Means (C-FCM) clustering method. The context-based clustering supporting the design of information granules is completed in the space of the input data while the build of the clusters is guided by a collection of some predefined fuzzy sets defined in the output space. (b) The proposed design procedure being applied at each layer of IgPNN leads to the selection of preferred nodes of the network (CPNs or PNs) whose local characteristics can be easily adjusted. These options contribute to the flexibility as well as simplicity and compactness of the resulting architecture of the network. For the evaluation of performance of the proposed IgPNNs, we describe a detailed characteristic of the proposed model using a well-known learning machine data.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115395018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Current remote display protocols used in mobile cloud computing have been developed for desktop computers which are plugged all the time while connecting through LAN (Local Area Network) and it should be scrutinized for mobile device characteristics. Apparently, in mobile cloud computing, there is a still limit of power on the end point. However, few studies on remote protocol framework consider power constraint and much research have focused on more performance for better quality of images in the area. Motivated by this, we propose an encoding scheme to reduce energy consumption on client side in mobile cloud computing. By lowering the power consumption of a CPU and a wireless network interface card, our adaptive encoding scheme achieves gains in energy conservation.","PeriodicalId":117185,"journal":{"name":"2014 International Conference on Information Science & Applications (ICISA)","volume":"45 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-06","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115693525","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
