The clinical picture is indistinguishable from that produced by other dermatophytes, but, being this a geophilic fungus, it can cause more inflammatory disease.</div></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><div>Retrospective study. Patients with positive culture for <em>N.</em> <em>gypsea</em> observed at the Dermatological Institute of Jalisco «Dr. José Barba Rubio», from 2001 to 2023, were included. Frequency, sex, age, evolution, and clinical variant were investigated. We compared the findings between the pediatric versus adult population. Descriptive and inferential statistics were used.</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>Over 23 years, 155 patients were diagnosed (6.7 cases per year). Female sex predominated (53.5%). The median age was 9<!--> <!-->years (minimum 1<!--> <!-->year and maximum 85<!--> <!-->years), the more affected age group was 1 to 10<!--> <!-->years (54.2%). The median time of evolution was 30<!--> <!-->days (minimum one day and maximum 3<!--> <!-->years), and 74.8% had an evolution ≤<!--> <!-->30<!--> <!-->days. Tinea capitis predominated in pediatric patients (41.0%, <em>P</em> <!--><<!--> <!-->.01) whereas tinea corporis predominated in adults (72.7%, <em>P</em> <!--><<!--> <!-->.01). Inflammatory tinea was more prevalent in the pediatric population (21.0% <em>vs</em>. 3.6%, <em>P</em> <!--><<!--> <!-->.01).</div></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><div>The ability of <em>N.</em> <em>gypsea</em> to cause inflammatory tinea was observed primarily in pediatric patients. The study analyzed antimicrobial susceptibility data from isolates collected in acute care hospital settings. Key metrics: annual MRSA rate, incidence density of new MRSA cases, MRSA bacteremia, and hospital-acquired MRSA cases. We assessed the rate of ESBL-producing <em>K. pneumoniae</em> and carbapenemase-resistant (CR)-<em>K. pneumoniae</em>, CR-<em>Enterobacter cloacae</em>, and CR-<em>Escherichia coli</em>. For <em>C. difficile</em> infections (CDI), the incidence density was determined.</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>While MRSA rate slightly decreased over the study period, the incidence of MRSA bacteremia increased. Global hospital-acquired MRSA incidence decreased but increased in small hospitals. Among patients with bacteremia, the rate of ESBL-producing <em>K. pneumoniae</em> remained stable; in contrast, the rate of CR-<em>K. pneumoniae</em> rose in large centers as well as did the rates of CR-<em>E. cloacae</em> and CR-<em>E. coli</em>. CDI incidence rose substantially over the study period.</div></div><div><h3>Conclusion</h3><div>VINCat's hospital surveillance system has provided valuable insights into the evolving incidence of key multidrug-resistant organisms and CDI. This study assesses trends in alcohol-based hand rub (ABHR) consumption for hand hygiene and availability of dispensers at the point of care (POC) in acute care hospitals in Catalonia, as part of the VINCat program.</div></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><div>Data were collected from 2014 to 2022 in 69 hospitals, categorized by size and type, including large, medium, small, and specialized facilities. ABHR consumption was measured in liters per 1000 patient-days, with data segmented into intensive care units (ICUs) and non-ICU wards. Hospital infection control personnel determined the availability of ABHR solutions at the POC through yearly point prevalence surveys.</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>The study found a significant increase in ABHR consumption over time, with usage rising from 22.8<!--> <!-->L/1000 patient-days in the 2014–2017 period to 39.9<!--> <!-->L in 2018–2022, representing a 75% increase. The most significant growth was observed in ICUs, where ABHR use nearly doubled. ABHR consumption also spiked during the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, with large hospitals showing the highest levels of usage. Additionally, the availability of ABHR dispensers at the POC increased, particularly in non-ICU wards and small hospitals.</div></div><div><h3>Conclusions</h3><div>The findings underscore the role of sustained hand hygiene efforts, including increased ABHR availability at the POC, as essential components of infection prevention. However, it has not reached all target users who could benefit from it.</div><div>The study aimed to understand the sociodemographic, clinical and behavioral baseline characteristics of PrEP users. As a secondary objective, the use of concomitant medication and drug consumption were described.</div></div><div><h3>Methodology</h3><div>Observational, retrospective and descriptive study of the sociodemographic, clinical and behavioral characteristics of the users who were included in the PrEP program of the Community of Madrid during the first two years of experience.</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>Two thousand two hundred fifty-six PrEP users were included, 99.0% men, with a mean age of 36.9 years (SD: 8.68). 33.1% presented a sexually transmitted infection (STI) on the first visit, highlighting chlamydiasis and rectal gonococci. 70.4% reported using drugs associated with sex, and 42.4% participated in chemsex sessions in the last 3 months. The objective is to determine the prevalence of <em>C. glucuronolyticum</em> in genitourinary tract samples as well as their antimicrobial susceptibility profile.</div></div><div><h3>Methods</h3><div>A prospective study was conducted from 1st of November 2021 to the 30th of November 2022, for all genitourinary tract samples collected from male patients with suspicion of balanitis, prostatitis and urethritis. Antimicrobial susceptibility testing was performed in all <em>C. glucuronolyticum</em> isolates.</div></div><div><h3>Results</h3><div>A total of 73 <em>C. glucuronolyticum</em> isolates from 693 clinical specimens were obtained. This represents an overall <em>C. glucuronolyticum</em> prevalence of 10.5%.
