The lack of such specialists in Russia forces employers to raise their salaries and offer better working conditions. Relationships between Russia and the CIS in the labor market (center–periphery) are often mutually beneficial to both parties. The article addresses the need of changing professional affiliations as well as retraining domestic specialists in order to reduce their deficit. The article presents the ILO data about insufficiently elaborated legal framework to counter informal employment for distant “immigrants”.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114813530","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A new full-fledged confrontation has radically changed the geopolitical situation around the region and, for the first time since the beginning of the conflict in the 90s of the last century, created prerequisites for the normalization of relations between the warring parties. The trilateral truce statement signed on November 10, 2020 by the heads of Russia, Azerbaijan and Armenia lays down the conditions for opening the borders blocked due to the confrontation, launching transport links in the region and gradually restoring relations between neighbors. At the same time, the contradictions accumulated during the conflict, distrust and negative mutual perception of Armenians and Azerbaijanis are still a serious obstacle to the full-fledged normalization of relations in the South Caucasus.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133738008","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Along with steps to eliminate the influence of the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, this program was the reaction of the current government to the mass protests in January 2022. The program provides for a wide range of reforms in the field of political and economic modernization. At the same time, the main directions of the foreign policy course are not subject to revision. The President plans to continue the multi-vector foreign policy, despite the radical contradictions between the main partners of Kazakhstan.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122248102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The South Asian states have become a new priority vector of Tashkent's foreign policy. For development of relations with them a new railway route has been developed. At the same time, the importance of Afghanistan in the policy of Uzbekistan is increasing, which is reflected in the intensification of interaction between the two countries in both economic and political spheres. At the same time, some guidelines of Tashkent's policy towards Afghanistan are in line with the interests of the United States, which considers Uzbekistan as an important link in its policy in the region. The withdrawal of the US and NATO military contingent from Afghanistan, while high level of terrorist threat in the republic still exists, makes the problem of ensuring security of the southern borders of the CIS urgent for Russia. In this context, the signing of a strategic military partnership program between Moscow and Tashkent, contributing to strengthening of the defense capability of Uzbekistan, is an important step for ensuring the security of the entire Central Asian region.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"27 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125931333","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Opposition parties boycott its work demanding annulment of the results of the parliamentary elections due to mass fraud. The ruling “Georgian Dream” is trying to return the opposition to the parliament, offering to discuss and adopt a new election law. On the other hand, the Georgian government threatens to deprive the parties that refuse to work in the parliament of financial support. In the post-election period the top leadership of several major political parties has changed. The founder of the “Georgian Dream” B. Ivanishvili has left politics. N.Melia became the new leader of the United National Movement. After his arrest the internal political situation in Georgia has deteriorated.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"8 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127976427","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The analysis is based on the positioning of these states in key strategic documents of the U.S. since early 1990s, and also on trade, investments, aid, and military statistics. Author comes to the conclusion that Central Asian states do not present vital strategical interest for the United States, and the U.S. relations with them are mainly determined by Washington’s strategies in the nearby regions. In this regard these relations have good potential for development in the midterm, but do not present significant importance in the long-term.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"285 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121447572","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Abandoning the traditional friendly ties with Russia, the pro-European oriented leaders of present-day Moldova set a course for the country’s accession to the EU, joining the anti-Russian sanctions of Western countries. As a result, due to the serious deterioration of the economic situation, social protests are growing in the republic and the activity of the political opposition is intensifying. In addition, the escalation of tension around Transnistria continues.","PeriodicalId":114903,"journal":{"name":"Russia and New States of Eurasia","volume":"203 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123368729","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
