Using the proposed topology, it is possible to achieve energy processing capability in case of several failure modes. The fault-tolerant enhancements are a consequence of appropriate modifications in the control strategy and from redundancy of power devices to maintain the correct operation of the converter. The proposed control strategy adopted in the presented solution can also equalize the capacitor voltages automatically. Some simulation results are included in this study to confirm the validity of the theoretical study.","PeriodicalId":111104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 14th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG)","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114131432","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two scenarios are considered for this analysis, the first one involving current electricity and battery prices, while the second one considers the future expected prices in 2030 as inputs. The study was conducted on 100 load profiles with different consumption behaviors; the panel size will be determined according to the average load demand in three PV/Load ratios. The economic benefits of adding batteries to these load profiles are expressed as a percentage, which can indicate what percentage of prosumers will benefit by inserting a battery into their PV system. The results show that at current prices, adding batteries to the solar panel system will not have any economic benefits for prosumers. It has been found that for the sake of economic profit, it will require a sharp reduction in battery prices in the future, and on the other hand, the feed-in tariff regulations should also be changed being closer to zero.","PeriodicalId":111104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 14th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG)","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131874112","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

These measurements were performed while feeding the examined diode with direct current and while feeding it with current of the shape of the rectangular pulses train. In investigations selected values of frequency of feeding current and selected values of the duty cycle were used. The obtained results of investigations are presented and discussed. It is shown that emitted luminous flux can be effectively regulated by changing the value of duty cycle of feeding current.","PeriodicalId":111104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 14th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG)","volume":"431 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134189697","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The electricity bill reduction by adopting Demand Response Programs (DRP) considering the flexibility of the end-users is addressed in this paper. The problem is addressed as a multi-objective optimization problem. The first objective function is the minimization of the daily bill, while the second objective aims to minimize the Discomfort Index (DI) regarding shifting the home appliances plugging-in time. The Time-of-Use (ToU) tariff is adopted in this paper and therefore, the end-users can benefit from shifting their flexible loads from peak hours to the off-peak hours and this reduces their bills, accordingly. In this case, the end-users have to change their energy consumption which imposes a level of discomfort on the end-users. Therefore, a two-stage model is proposed in this paper to deal with the mentioned objective functions. The proposed model is represented as standard mixed-integer linear programming (MILP) and for solving this problem the epsilon-constraint method is adopted in this study. The obtained Pareto front from the epsilon-constraint multi-objective framework is fed to the fuzzy satisfying method for final plan selection. These results show that by providing the Pareto set of optimal solutions to the user, they are more informed and can make decisions that better suit their preferences.","PeriodicalId":111104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 14th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG)","volume":"14 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116974955","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Kharitonov's theorem approach and D-stability condition allow considering uncertainty in parameters of electronic circuit components and load fluctuations. The gain factors of the proportional-plus-integral controller are chosen to meet Hurwitz criteria for four Kharitonov polynomials. The analysis results verify that the presented battery-supercapacitor hybrid energy storage system should be characterized by stable behavior regardless of variations of the components parameters within the tolerance region and for a wide range of anticipated loads.","PeriodicalId":111104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 14th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG)","volume":"71 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123194346","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Furthermore, a broken insulator (stub) on an insulator string may change the voltage distribution along the chain. This paper goal is to study the effects of the voltage distribution along with tempered glass cap and pin insulator string in the presence of broken skirts as well contamination by pollution, using for that purpose a finite element software. This paper presents the voltage distribution profile across single and fourteen units of glass insulator string with stubs at distinct locations as well for the presence of contamination by pollution. It is concluded that the presence of pollution on a string with stubs will alter and exacerbate the increase of electrical potential effect due to the presence of stubs.","PeriodicalId":111104,"journal":{"name":"2020 IEEE 14th International Conference on Compatibility, Power Electronics and Power Engineering (CPE-POWERENG)","volume":"20 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2020-07-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122093874","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
