Protecting data from unwanted access by modifying it through cryptography, hiding data or digitally signing it are some of the solutions available. Just as important however is to detect and prevent attacks. We propose a system with hierarchical access to data which is gained through a digital signature algorithm. We focus our attention on detecting and preventing attacks through a less conventional method - complex event processing. Any action within the cyber-physical system can be viewed as an event, such as digitally signing a message. With this idea in mind we propose a solution that allows designing a secure cyber-physical system with an efficient attack detection architecture.","PeriodicalId":110627,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics (AQTR)","volume":"5 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132751489","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The role of modern cryptography is to assure by specific mathematical means, both theoretically and practically, the four basic characteristics of information: confidentiality, integrity, authenticity, and nonrepudiation. This paper presents a series of results obtained within an ample project, whose purpose is to integrate devices based on quantum properties, in order to gradually replace the current classical equipment which becomes vulnerable, and also to develop software applications. The results were obtained as a result of performance and testing of an experimental model which implements an architecture of client-server type, and which integrates a quantum random number generator in the mechanism of obtaining the cryptographic key.","PeriodicalId":110627,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics (AQTR)","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122490474","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Fractional calculus can provide a concise model for the description of the dynamic events that occur in biological tissues. The concepts of fractional calculus has been successfully applied in physics, chemistry and material science, electrodes and viscolelastic materials over extended ranges of time and frequency. In this paper, the fractional order impedance model is presented and compared with the measured impedance. The model parameters are related to various physical conditions of the test-cells and a baseline measurements along with blind evaluation are presented. The results indicate that the proposed model is valid in a limited range of frequencies and generalization for higher order models is possible.","PeriodicalId":110627,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics (AQTR)","volume":"19 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125685236","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The purpose of this paper is to detail the design of fractional order PID controllers for smart beams. A novel tuning procedure is proposed based on solving a set of nonlinear complex equations that directly aim at reducing the resonant peak. The control parameters are computed through optimization techniques, making sure that the best ones are chosen. The practical stand was realized using magnet-coil approach and not piezoelectric actuators. The experimentally obtained vibration results prove that fractional order PID controllers can be used in practice to significantly reduce the amplitude and settling time of the vibrating system.","PeriodicalId":110627,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics (AQTR)","volume":"49 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128500412","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several modern visual analytics applications involve processing large amounts of compressed image/video data on restricted hardware resources, in a numerically efficient manner. In this context, the formulation of some image analysis/processing algorithms in the compressed image/video domain can bring significant benefits in the computational complexity reduction. An important step to image analysis, feature extraction, based on unitary image transforms is addressed in this paper, in a general form. Starting from the fact that in most popular video compression the intraframes are block discrete cosine transform (DCT) encoded, we present and propose a solution to computing any unitary image transform at pixels block level, starting from the DCT coefficients of the block. Since approximate forms of the transforms are often satisfactory, we propose a fuzzy logic system based approach to optimize the computational complexity with minimal loss of image information. The method is exemplified for the case of the Walsh transform, which shows that even the fastest implementation provides (by reconstruction) images of good quality.","PeriodicalId":110627,"journal":{"name":"2016 IEEE International Conference on Automation, Quality and Testing, Robotics (AQTR)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2016-05-19","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129003343","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
