Abstract

The current paper proposes a comparative study in flux-weakening operation for a permanent magnet synchronous motor (PMSM). This paper considers the operation of a PMSM drive when the speed is changed. The flux-weakening operation which increases or decreases the stator current is obtained by field component. This method allows changing the active power and increasing the efficiency of PMSM, when the current component from q-axis is not changed. Experiments were performed with the help of a laboratory test-bench.
