Data were collected from randomly selected 120 women in 4 randomly selected villages from 2 wards in Igunga District using a structured and non-structured questionnaire. Descriptive and regression analyses using Statistical Package for Social Sciences were used to determine the factors for fertility. Women's empowerment was measured by five proxies: economic decision-making, mobility, coercive control, family planning and contraceptive use, as well as family size decision-making. Fertility status was measured by age-specific fertility rates and total fertility rates. The main argument adopted by this study was that higher fertility rates might be lowered through interventions that enhance women empowerment. The results clearly indicate that women in the study area are less empowered based on the adopted indicators and that such lower levels of empowerment together with demographic and cultural factors including men's dominance are responsible for higher fertility in the study area. This study recommends that interventions addressing cultural factors and enhancement of women empowerment may lower higher fertility rates from the study area. Moreover, although this study dealt with women as the unit of data collection and analysis, it is important that such interventions should involve both men and women. This, as seen from male dominance, is important because any change that is expected will come from decisions made by men to change the current situation","PeriodicalId":110506,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social and Economic Research","volume":"28 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124169971","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Therefore, India introduced new economic reform and fiscal consolidation reform to contain fiscal and trade deficit. In the initial stage of reform the problem of fiscal deficit brought under control and subsequent stage of reform fiscal position of nationn worsen. This fiscal situation makes India to embark ruled based fiscal policy and India adopted FRBMA 2003 rules to reduce Revenue and Fiscal Deficit. Unfortunately, this act was practice, as a deficit management tool for the government and deficits are considered to be the major factors affecting the growth process in the economy by contributing to inflation and increasing the debt burden leading to a greater resource drain on the exchequer in terms of interest payments. Hence, the fiscal target were set by FRBMA and both Union and State government inevitably reach target by 2003 fiscal rules. In order to reach FRBMA target, National and Sub-national government started reduce expenditure on social sector development. The social sector development is essential to reduce unsolved problem like Poverty and Unemployment, Regional Imbalance, unbalanced Sector Growth, Malnutrition, Gender Discrimination and Income Inequalities which are major challenge to achieve inclusive growth. Thus, this research paper seeks to make attempt to evaluate social sector expenditure after 2003 fiscal rules. It also tries to establish relation between social expenditure and human resource development. It suggest government to cut down expenditure on subsidies and interest payment to reduce non development revenue and capital expenditure and increase expenditure on social sector comprising education, health, medicine, housing and nutrition. The social sector development will enhance efficiency labour, per capita income and break vicious circle of poverty.","PeriodicalId":110506,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social and Economic Research","volume":"32 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114310219","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also, it helps one to be more creative and innovative, thus able to perform different tasks within the workforce. In this case, education is a critical factor in ensuring economic growth and development of a nation. This paper sought to explore the impact of education on economic growth by focusing on online education among the GCC countries. GCC is a group of six countries in the Gulf region which are economically dependent on oil and gas resources. In the last few years, the countries have been trying to diversify their economy to shield themselves against uncertainties associated with the global oil market. However, this economic goal has been hampered by the massive skill gaps that exist between the nationals and industry. In this case, the paper suggests that increased investment in online education platforms would ensure more people can access education leading to enhanced productivity, and economic growth.","PeriodicalId":110506,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social and Economic Research","volume":"63 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114604849","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It is obvious that a wide variety of compliments within one culture exists in terms of their roles and usage. According to Pomerantz (1978), responding to a compliment poses a dilemma for speakers because they have to balance two diametrically conflicting conversational principles: to agree with one's conversational co-participants and to avoid self-praise (Herbert, 1989). This study aims at reviewing and exploring compliments and compliment responses as speech act theories through categorizations of speech acts, definitions of compliments and compliment responses, functions of compliments, and different strategies of compliment responses studied by various researchers.","PeriodicalId":110506,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social and Economic Research","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129453984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
