They reveal and elaborate the secrets of attaining higher values in life and nurture empathy for the fellow beings. Teachers are the torch bearers in creating social cohesion, national integration and a learning society. They not only disseminate knowledge but also create and generate new knowledge. They are responsible for acculturating role of education. No nation can even marginally slacken its efforts in giving necessary professional inputs to its teachers and along with that due status to their stature and profession.","PeriodicalId":110506,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social and Economic Research","volume":"35 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125731537","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

India's prestige has been projected and held up high because of the industriousness shown by these women in the international arena and these women are usually from families that give a lot of importance for education and career. Even in India the women from various sections of the society have proved their mettle and women form major part of the work force. When there is difference of agreement among individuals conflicts arise and conflicts induce role conflicts in women who are the victims as they are forced to perform a variety of roles through their lives that leads them to lose their identity. Women working outside their homes face major role conflicts that lead them to various difficulties including health problems.","PeriodicalId":110506,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social and Economic Research","volume":"16 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128197961","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

India is the home to all the religions and religion minorities therefore; it is a very good area of research in terms of anthropological and social studies. The following study is concentrated mainly on the Shia Muslims in Mysore city. It has also a historical look upon formation of cultural identity of Shias in India. During the reign of the Arab traders, they introduced Islam into the South Indian state of Karnataka almost as soon as the faith was initiated in Saudi Arabia. Along with their faith, Muslims brought many products to the country. The Islamic presence and power in the state reached its greatest heights during the reigns of Hyder Ali and his son Tippu Sultan. Though killed by the British in 1799, Tippu Sultan was one of the only national leaders to defeat the British troops in battle and many Indians consider him a hero. The internal structure of Indian Muslims as a religio-ethnic group was quite complex. Shias Islam has deep-rooted influence in present and history of India from North to South with various Shia Muslim dynasties ruling Indian provinces from time to time.","PeriodicalId":110506,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social and Economic Research","volume":"187 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115906521","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This handicraft sector is the backbone of the non-firm economy of rural India and is also an important option of rural livelihood. But the sector is highly unorganized. In spite of having large market potentiality, artisans in most the cases fail to secure a modest living. This is mostly because of organized marketing facilities for the rural products. SARAS mela is a landmark decision of the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, for marketing of these rural products produced by the Self Help Groups under the Swarnjayanti Gram Swarozgar Yojana scheme. Started in 1999, this fair presently has become an important brand for exhibition-cum-sale of rural products and capacity building of the rural artisans. The present paper, based on secondary information, gives an overview and present situation of SARAS Mela and its importance in marketing of rural products.","PeriodicalId":110506,"journal":{"name":"International Journal of Social and Economic Research","volume":"181 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"1900-01-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134124953","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
