In this technique nine bits of message can be hidden in a single pixel. A true image is composed of three elements, R, G and B components. In each component three bits of message can be hidden. Here the message is not only embedded in the least significant bit (LSB), but also the second LSB, third LSB and the fourth LSB are also susceptible to change. But during each process of embedding only two bit planes of each component is allowed to change. Since the capacity of this method is high, small number of pixels needs to be manipulated for embedding data. To have additional security this method changes only the even columns of pixels. Since only few pixels are used and also consecutive pixels are not changing it is difficult for the steganalysers to detect the presence of a second data inside the digital image. As compared with the LSB-matching method this method has the highest data embedding capacity and is more difficult to detect the embedded message.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"62 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115017018","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The wind speed model is developed using Weibull distribution function with the Weibull parameters for a particular site. The load model is developed by using IEEE-RTS. The risk model is developed by combining load model and generation model and the reliability indices are evaluated. Most of the existing methods use only the intensity information of the images to find the feature points. We inspect the use of color information in feature point detection. Color Information in images is expressed using various color spaces like RGB, HSV, XYZ, LAB, Opponent, YIQ, Y CbCr, and CMY. Deciding the most appropriate color space for a particular application is an open problem in color image processing. To alleviate this problem, a Hybrid color space, with the best features is used for image matching. Feature selection is done using Principal Component Analysis (PCA). Harris corner detection is applied on color images, represented using different color spaces. The feature detection method is compared for viewpoint, rotation, blur and illumination changes. All the experiments use total number of feature points and repeatability measurement for the evaluation.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"10 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"117147301","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Lot of work is been carried out on performance improvements, hydraulic vane and volute profiles due to which considerable increase in the efficiency is been observed. It is very difficult to carry out the experimental tests to study the boundary layer behavior and its effect on the performance of the pump. Boundary layer separation plays a very important role in causing the secondary flows in the vane passage which affect the fluid flow path resulting in loss of effective energy transfer to the fluid by vane. Due to the centripetal force acting on the flow due to the curved path of the vane passage, separation of the boundary layer on pressure surface happens well before as compared to the flow separation occurring on the stationary vane surface. At the suction surface the flow is more concentrated hence the flow separation is difficult to occur. In this paper theoretical study of boundary layer behavior on the vane pressure surface is done and separation point is computed to find the occurrence of secondary flows from the separation point. The effect of centripetal force using Dean's equation for velocity distribution over the boundary layer, boundary layer thickness, momentum thickness, displacement thickness and Schlichting's form factor is studied and results are plotted to see the variation of these parameters.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"92 ","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"120871208","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to the nature of admissions to this department and the criticality of time for initiating various procedures, many of the processes of HIMS are bypassed. This creates a problem for the HIMS designer. Many conventional HIMS systems handle this by avoiding the ICU from the HIMS implementation, allowing it to continue with the manual process being followed prior to the introduction of the HIMS system. The manual system creates inaccuracies and delays in the information collection and transmission processes. Due to this the senior consultants are denied a complete and comprehensive picture of the situation of the patient that would have been possible with an automated system. The ICU automation system uses a separate ICU server to automate the back-end processes and provide the required isolation from the HIMS server and the stringent processes running there. This server implements a local WiFi network in the ICU that interconnects a set of Tablet PCs running a host of Android applications to automate the workflow there. The ICU server is accessible from the doctors smart phone as well allowing him to view the status of the patient in a comprehensive fashion. This paper presents the system architecture and functionality of important modules.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125858556","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The existence of near duplicate web pages are due to exact replica of the original site, mirrored sites, versioned sites, and multiple representations of the same physical object and plagiarized documents. The identification of similar or near duplicate pages in a large collection is a significant problem with wide spread applications. Here we propose a four stage algorithm for finding near duplicates of an input Web page from a huge repository. We propose a Term Document Weight (TDW) matrix based algorithm with four phases - preprocessing, Feature weighting, Filtering and Verification. The system receives an input web page and a similarity threshold in its first phase and performs some pre processing operations on it. In the second phase, weights of features are calculated using Analytic Combination Criteria (ACC). In the third phase, Prefix and Positional filtering are performed to reduce the size of candidate records, and it returns an optimal set of near duplicate web pages in the Verification phase after calculating their similarity using Minimum Weight Overlapping (MWO) method.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"05 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129024440","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This system retrieves similar videos based on a local feature descriptor called SURF (Speeded Up Robust Feature). The higher dimensionality of SURF like feature descriptors causes huge storage consumption during indexing of video information. To achieve a dimensionality reduction on the SURF feature descriptor, this system employs a stochastic dimensionality reduction method and thus provides a model data for the videos. On retrieval, the model data of the test clip is classified to its similar videos using a minimum distance classifier. The performance of this system is evaluated using two different minimum distance classifiers during the retrieval stage. The experimental analyses performed on the system shows that the system has a retrieval performance of 78%. This system also analyses the performance efficiency of the low dimensional SURF descriptor.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"72 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126965713","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

As the number of web services is expected to significantly increase, this would have the effect of introducing competition among web services that offer similar functionalities. Selection of best service based on their expected quality such as price, response time has more importance. Sound framework is essential to organize web services. The identified key challenges are publishing of service QoS information, the matching of QoS requirements. A model for web services discovery is proposed as a solution.
