Noise in magnetic resonance imaging has a Rician distribution and unlike AWGN noise, Rician noise is signal dependent. Separating signal from Rician noise is a tedious task. The proposed approaches were compared with other transform methods such as wavelet thresholding and block DCT. Hard, soft and semi-soft thresholding techniques are described and applied to test images with threshold estimators like universal threshold. The results are compared based on the parameters: PSNR and MSE. Numerical results show that the contour let transform can obtained higher PSNR than wavelet based and block DCT based denoising algorithms.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128738239","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The foundation of the algorithm lies in an ancient Vedic algorithm. The resulting n-bit squaring architecture translated into hardware. With the proposed architecture using retiming technique the optimizations for large binary number is achieved. The essential idea of retiming is to relocate latch boundaries to balance the delay of each stage. In this paper, we used a method for finding a feasible retiming to optimize a CDFG to meet a smallest iteration period. The production data rates and predictable execution time is model by CDFG graph. The proposed squaring algorithm is significant savings in time when compared with a special case of formula based on Dwandwayoga which means duplex. Duplex of a digit is calculated based on Urdhva-tiryagbhyam. The performance of the proposed algorithm is measured in terms of power and time and it is much better than the Dwandwayoga [8, 17] squaring algorithm. The design is simulated using NCsim from cadence and synthesize the design using RTL Compiler from the cadence EDA tool. The design is implemented using the 90nm standard cell technology Libraries.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"133948113","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Such systems include the MEMS phase shifters. This paper presents the design and simulation of a 3-bit Digital Phase-Shifter based on the Distributed MEMS transmission Line (DMTL) technique, constituted with 28 capacitive shunt switches. The design is optimized to work between C-to Ku-band of frequencies but the best results are obtained at 15GHz frequency which is useful for wireless communications in Ka band. The MEMS phase shifters generally have low insertion loss, high isolation and uses low power which can further be added up to construct low cost and light weight phased array antennas. The DMTL phase shifters are designed with a CPW line loaded with capacitive shunt switches for easier access to the ground. The capacitive shunt switches are highly reliable and capable of handling high amount of RF power. The change in the phase velocity of the signal travelling through CPW line is achieved by pulling down the MEMS switches by the application of DC control voltage on the central conductor line. The digital phase shifter consists of three bits designed to obtain 45o, 90o and 180o phase shift. The spacing between the switches is 250μm. The insertion loss is calculated at -0.73dB.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"125173946","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

A comparative study has been conducted under conditions of with and without power wheeling under the TOD tariff followed by the industry. In the present power scenario, combined heat and power generation or captive generating units are not considered under the prospects of Availability Based Tariff (ABT) because of the uncertainties in scheduled generation. A model has been proposed for optimal power interchange under ABT for self generating units. The constraints are included on the basis of the various load and generating conditions of the captive generation of all the concerns included in the wheeling arena. The proposed model helps to encourage power wheeling and power export by bringing captive generation under ABT.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"22 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"134486167","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

An application of the principle of maximum entropy for approximation of fundamental probability distribution can depend on the variables that used for recitation of system. In Real Time Distributed System (RTDS) arrival time, worst-case execution time and deadline are some fundamental attributes of real time tasks that elucidate the activities of entire system. As we all know that for the acceptance test (in real time scheduling algorithms) of task scheduling and in order to govern the dynamics (task migration and duplication), utilization is the only parameter that brings into play in RTDS. All these methodologies need current utilization value (=1) of all participant processors of the system. To the best of our knowledge, this paper first time introduces one more contender that promises great affinity to replace utilization factor. This paper introduces MEM in RTDS arena that works analogous to the utilization factor with some additional advantages in terms of scalability and processor information. With the help of some mathematical derivations and theoretical examples, we would like to broadcast that entropy can be another parameter that is able to govern the dynamics in RTDS parallel to utilization factor.","PeriodicalId":109537,"journal":{"name":"2013 Third International Conference on Advances in Computing and Communications","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-08-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132698737","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The conventional optical monitoring methods using OTDR is not suitable for FTTH, since it is based on a point-to-multipoint architecture. In this paper, we report a simple and cost effective architecture for the in-service monitoring of FTTH networks.
