In many applications localization of the mobile robots is subjected, different from the existing studies, here a similar closed loop system has been developed, but instead of estimating local coordinates, control problem is constructed as keeping close to a pattern under predefined constraints. Since the dynamic equations of the model are nonlinear, feedback linearization have been applied to control the mobile robot. To implement the control algorithm Quanser's QBot and a portable computer connected to its head camera have been used.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"150 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116349433","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The radiating patch of the antenna consists of a top-cut half-circle together with a triangle on the lower edge. The bottom side of the antenna includes a rectangular defected ground plane with two different symmetrical bevels. By cutting out these bevels on the ground plane, bandwidth coverage of the overall UWB range except 5.4-7 GHz frequency band is provided. To enhance input impedance bandwidth characteristics at 5.4-7 GHz frequency band, dimensions of the triangular part on the lower edge of the patch and top-cut half-circle part on the upper edge are optimized. The overall size of the proposed antenna is 22×20×1 mm3. Simulations are carried out using commercially available ANSYS's HFSS program which uses the finite element method (FEM). Results show that 110% of the impedance bandwidth between 3.6 and 12.2 GHz for VSWR<;2 is achieved. Moreover, antenna has a stable omnidirectional pattern at XZ plane over the frequency band. Also, the presented antenna is fabricated on FR4 substrate and it is measured.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116735857","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In other words, it is a progressive distortion of corneal layer and at least getting conical shape that should be like a dome camber. The vision reduces more and more while cornea gets shape of cone which should be like a sphere normally. The aim of this study is to define a new classification method for detecting keratoconus based on statistical analysis and to realize the prediction of these classified data with intelligent systems. 301 eyes of 159 patients and 394 eyes of 265 refractive surgery candidates as the control group have been used for this study. Factor analysis, one of the multivariate statistical techniques, has been mainly used to find more meaningful, easy to understand, and independent factors amongst the others. Later, a new classification method has been defined using clustering analysis techniques on these factors and finally estimated by using artificial neural networks and support vector machines.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"44 6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115553178","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Variations in these parameters can lead to dramatic variations in access latencies in Static Random Access Memory (SRAM) devices: Different lines of the same cache may have different access latencies. A simple solution to this problem is to adopt the worst-case latency paradigm. While this egalitarian cache management is simple, it may introduce significant performance overhead for data cache accesses. To overcome varying access latencies across different data cache lines, we employ a small table storing the access latencies of cache lines. This table is accessed during data cache access to give a hint to the hardware about how long to wait for data to become available.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"121 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114127019","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a new image segmentation methodology based on artificial bee colony algorithm (ABC) is proposed to extract brain tumors from magnetic reasoning imaging (MRI), one of the most useful tools used for diagnosing and treating medical cases. The proposed methodology comprises three phases: enhancement of the original MRI image (pre-processing), segmentation with the ABC based image clustering method (processing), and extraction of brain tumors (post-processing). The proposed methodology is compared and analyzed on totally 9 MRI images shooting in different positions from a patient with the methodologies based on K-means, Fuzzy C-means and genetic algorithms. It is observed from the experimental studies that the segmentation process with the ABC algorithm obtains both visually and numerically best results.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126651479","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In this paper, a CAD system is presented to investigate effects of dimension reduction for classifying mammograms. Proposed system consists of preprocessing, feature extraction, dimension reduction and classification steps. Multiscale top-hat transform is used to enhance mammograms and to remove noise. First order and second order textural features are extracted from enhanced mammograms. Principal component analysis (PCA) is used for dimension reduction. Two multilayer perceptron neural networks (MLP) are used to classify mammograms as normal or abnormal. All twenty features (without PCA) and selected seven features by PCA are applied each of two classifiers. First MLP classifier with all features achieved accuracy of 79,4%. Second MLP classifier with selected features by PCA achieved accuracy of 91,1%. PCA feature dimension reduction improved the classification performance, increasing accuracy value from 79,4% to 91,1%.","PeriodicalId":108357,"journal":{"name":"2013 8th International Conference on Electrical and Electronics Engineering (ELECO)","volume":"42 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-11-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127321976","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Currently, many memristor circuits have been mostly conceived on the basis of theoretical memristor models. However, in order to analyze the dynamical behavior of memristor circuits with real components and to implement them, the characteristics of the fabricated devices have to be included in the models used. To this aim, a compact data-driven model is proposed in this paper.
