The QWI was carried out by depositing a thin film of SiO2 on top surface of the laser structure samples and followed by high temperature annealing. By using the QWI technique, band gap energy of the 980nm quantum well structure has been blue shifted up to >220nm. These parameters have been determined by calculation of S-parameters. We use global approaches with these different analytical methods of calculation. This choice of global approaches is justified by the fact that negative refraction index metamaterials belongs to particular category where the limits of validity of the effective medium theories are not defined. The usefulness of the introduced device is demonstrated on novel resistorless voltage-mode first-order all-pass filter and voltage-mode quadrature oscillator design. The pole frequency of the filter can be easily controlled by means of internal transconductance and it provides both high-input and low-output impedances, which is important for cascading. In the oscillator the condition of oscillation and frequency of oscillation can be tuned independently. An iterative solution method that is based on modified subgradient algorithm operating on feasible values is employed to solve it. Bus voltage magnitudes and phase angles, off-nominal tap settings and susceptance values of svar systems are taken as independent (decision) variables in the solution algorithm. Since load flow equations are added into the model as equality constraints, actual power system loss is used in solution of the optimization model. The proposed technique is tested on IEEE 30-bus test systems. In this study, a portable multichannel temperature and humidity monitoring device has been developed. The device houses multiple temperature sensors, a humidity sensor, a microcontroller, a display and a +9V battery. Tests with three temperature sensors show that the device is user-friendly and performs consistent measurements. Therefore, in general practical systems, optimum receiver structure designed for the additive white Gaussian noise (AWGN) channel is employed. However, in wireless communication systems, noise is often caused by a strong interferer, which is colored in nature. Color of the noise is defined as the variation in power spectral density in the frequency domain. Designing the optimum receiver for different channel models is difficult and not reasonable because channel model is not known at the receiver and channel statistics are needed. In this paper, we propose neural network (NN) based approach to demodulate the transmitted signal over unknown channels. Simulation results in various signal environments are presented to the performance of the proposed system. The improvements brought by the new design contain; the use of a novel light-weight joint type replacing the conventional and heavy bearing structures and realization of encoderless position measurement algorithm based on hall effect sensor outputs of direct drive linear motors. The description of mechanical, electrical and software based improvements are followed by the derivation of a sliding mode controller to handle tracking of planar closed curves represented by elliptic fourier descriptors (EFDs). The weighted sum of all the data can be converted to raster-based maps and gathered consecutively in GIS for ETL route optimization. In this paper, a closed-loop system which utilizes modified Stolwijk-Hardy glucose insulin interaction model is considered. The modified model was derived by adding an exogenous insulin infusion term. Two control algorithms are used for exogenous insulin infusion: a Mamdani type fuzzy logic controller (FLC), and a fuzzy-PID controller. Simulations are performed to assess control function in terms of keeping desired steady state plasma glucose level (0.81 mg/ml) against to exogenous glucose input. Simulation results are notable and significant in terms of controlling blood glucose level (BGL). Two compared devices are also designed for comparison, namely, the vertical complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (VCMOS) and planar complementary metal-oxide-semiconductor (PCMOS).
