The principles of Eurocodes and information in related background documents give a starting point. Using the EN 1991-1-7 model, the procedure for determining design forces due to intentional impact by a road vehicle is newly proposed and their values are indicated for different threat levels. Impact forces obtained by a simplified analytical model are compared with those based on a non-linear dynamic finite element analysis. It appears that the model for intentional attack is fundamentally same as that for accidental impact, but mass and velocity of the impacting vehicle need to be adjusted. The design forces for intentional attack are much higher in comparison to those for an accidental impact, ranging in a first approximation between 3000 and 9000 kN, depending on stiffness of impacting vehicle Further research should be particularly focused on detailed modelling of the impacting body and its stiffness and model uncertainty of the simplified approach.","PeriodicalId":107301,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Military Technologies (ICMT)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116897504","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Each type of vegetation affects the use of military technology and the decision-making process of the commanders in another way. One of the most important types of vegetation for the analysis of passability are forests that cover large parts of the territory (for the Czech Republic about 33%). The manoeuvers in the forest affects many parameters, one of the most important being the spacing of the trees. To determine the passability of the forest unit, the issue of the passage between the trees and influence of the terrain slope on it was solved. The analysis was carried out in six locations for vehicles: the Tatra T810 6 × 6 truck, the Land Rover Defender 110 and the military wheeled vehicle Pandur II.","PeriodicalId":107301,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Military Technologies (ICMT)","volume":"7 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126954772","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Based on the mathematical model of the proposed method, the error and the uncertainty of indirect distance measurement are determined. The effect of the parameters such as the distance, the width of the object, the camera parameters (focal length, sensor’s size, resolution) on the measurement result is evaluated and verified by the experiment results. This analysis can be applied to determine the uncertainty of distance measurement to a given object for a measurement system with specified parameters. It can also be used in determining the required parameters of the measurement system so that the distance measurement to a given object can achieve a specified accuracy or precision. Another utilisation of the analysis is to determine the parameter of the object (object’s width) which a measurement system with given parameters can measure with a specified accuracy.","PeriodicalId":107301,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Military Technologies (ICMT)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126557320","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was carried out using theoretical and practical methods. Practical research was carried out through observation and through expert interviews with specialists managing the studied processes. As a result of the personal observation, the considered processes were analyzed in the context of their safety and reliability. The analysis shows that the strengths outweigh the weaknesses in relation to the studied processes, while in its surroundings the chances outweigh the threats. It is an aggressive strategy (maxi-maxi). For military entities belonging to the Polish Armed Forces, a strategy of strong expansion and diversified development is recommended in such a situation. Therefore, military entities should use transport services of civil companies, thanks to which they will be able to focus more effort on their basic tasks, which they use to a greater extent in everyday functioning. Aggressive strategy is based on the use of opportunities and strengths to actively develop the organization. In this case, there is a need to use all the opportunities found in the organization's surroundings and strive for perfection in action.","PeriodicalId":107301,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Military Technologies (ICMT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123174753","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Reporting and initial assessment usually involves assigning categories from a predefined nomenclature (scheme) aligned with the purpose of the reporting system and the established processing practices. Such manual categorization is time and resource consuming and, more importantly, limiting the application of the dataset. We apply and evaluate the effectiveness of a state of the art Neural Networks based algorithm for Natural Language Processing for classification of aviation safety report narratives. Multi-class, multi-label supervised learning is performed on two small datasets, 4500 and 8000 cases with 16 and 54 classes respectively, both extracted from the NASA Aviation Safety Reporting System. The results are promising if compared to recent studies and considering that an off the shelf algorithm without much customization is applied. Automatic categorizations can relief the current burden for manual categorization of the events by reducing the number of likely categories, targeting quality checks to most ambiguous records and applying new or updated classification schemes.","PeriodicalId":107301,"journal":{"name":"2019 International Conference on Military Technologies (ICMT)","volume":"38 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2019-05-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123280102","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
