The design and analysis of 15-level reduced switch inverter with different modes of operation are presented in this paper. The proposed inverter is asymmetric in nature and uses unequal dc voltage sources. This inverter topology is investigated for multi-objectives such as a minimum number of switches, capacitors and total harmonic distortion (THD) for producing maximum output voltage steps. Different modulation techniques are applied in order to analyze THD and comparison among different techniques are presented. The authentication and realization of proposed 15-level inverter topology are confirmed with the help of Matlab/Simulink environment.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"57 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121812636","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Keeping the skills and knowledge of employees updated is one of the toughest and challenging tasks of the project management process. In developing countries like Pakistan, this task becomes more challenging due to lack of training and skill building institutes. The factors like changes in technology and increased demand for rapid development are addressed in this paper. Most required expertise and skills are identified. Our team has collected data by filling the questionnaires from IT professionals working on different projects in different organizations of the country. All expertise are divided into two main categories technical expertise or skills and non-technical / soft skills. Then characterized these skills according to the roles of employees. Finally, analysis of the whole data is performed by the statistical software like the SPSS and the Minitab, to find out which are the significant expertise and skills which really affects the performance of software organizations. We also identified what type of skills should employees have according to their role in the organization. The information developed by conducting this study is useful for many stakeholders in the local perspective, including professionals, project managers, and the Pakistan Software Export Board.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"56 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"121911886","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

However, the DERs bring the problems of AC-DC-AC conversion losses, increase in component cost, and reduction in power quality. Moreover, the power demand of DC load, such as telecom exchange networking system and Electric Vehicles (EVs) are increasing in recent times. In conventional power systems, the DC loads are connected to main AC grid through converters that result in an increased cost for the telecom networking system, and occurrence of AC to DC power conversion loss. The hybrid AC-DC microgrid for the distributed AC and DC power generations is a suitable solution to reduce the multiple reverse conversions within the telecom exchange. Therefore, in this paper, a droop controlled scheme is used for the hybrid AC-DC microgrid within a telecom exchange that manage voltage and power regulation, and energy management between AC and DC microgrids. The droop controller provides need based power sharing between AC and DC microgrids and enhance operational reliability of the DC loads, such as telecom exchanges and EVs.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122631460","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The product RE process can be a Software Requirement Specification (SRS) document, use case models or other artifacts containing both functional and nonfunctional requirements of the product. The analysis of these artifacts is a time consuming and error-prone process when performed manually. There is also a need for creating consistent and complete set of non-functional requirements from user-specific individual projects in SPL. Therefore, we propose a methodology to create Domain Non-Functional Requirements (DNFRs) from Product Non-Functional Requirements (PNFRs) using model driven approach. Two model transformations are performed to automate the process of DNFR creation. First transformation converts PNFR into Product Line Non-Functional Requirements (PLNFR) using a PNFR meta model. The second transformation converts the PLNFR into DNFR using DNFR meta model. This transformation exploits commonality and variability among the products in terms of their non-functional requirements. The resulting DNFR can serve as a useful baseline for domain analysis in SPLE.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"647 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"116091348","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Due to large number of features, dimensionality reduction (or feature selection) and dataset balancing become important data preprocessing steps. This research utilizes a real dataset to classify defecting customers in the telecom sector. Three different feature selection and dataset balancing techniques are applied for data preprocessing before classification model building. The results show that random oversampling performed better to balance the dataset and the three feature selection techniques used performed equally well. Customer call related features are extracted as features that are more important. The classification model is built using random forest technique and model evaluation measures are computed and reported. Conduct of experiments on a real dataset that does not have any customer demographic variables is a significant contribution of this paper.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"6 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129023161","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

It’s a complex activity due to the diverse nature of services provided during this phase. Therefore, it is significant that the parties involved in maintenance should decide and agree upon about the nature and level of maintenance services upfront. This paper discusses the important issue of Service Level Agreement for software maintenance. We conducted a systematic literature review to explore the state of the art and then applied grounded theory method for formulating the preliminary SLA management framework. We elicited six major phases of SLA management including Service Templates Development, SLA Negotiation, Service Deployment, Service Execution, Service Assessment and Service Decommissioning. This study provides a basis for producing a comprehensive software maintenance SLA to be applicable in industrial setting.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"13 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129699060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This work focuses on the performance evaluation of two-way decode-and-forward (DF) relay with energy harvesting capability. More specifically, using relay activation threshold as power constraint, we determine the performance of two-way DF relay. The aggregated received power at relay is used to define power shortage event. We also derive a closed-form expression of intercept probability in the presence of cluster of eavesdroppers. Impact of power splitting factor and relay activation threshold on secrecy performance of two-way DF relay has also been assessed. Extensive simulations are performed in MATLAB to verify the derived analytical expressions.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"107 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128502257","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The synchronous parallel to serial (P2S) interface transforms the data converters parallel samples to serial stream for reducing the number of required pins. On the other hand, the synchronous serial to parallel (S2P) interface reconstructs the parallel samples. Depending on the pin constraints and data rate requirements, different configurations are also proposed for multi-channel interfaces. Two operating modes are incorporated for different synchronization schemes. The proposed serial interface design is effective to minimize the number of required PADs, diminish the die area and decrease the printed circuit board (PCB) complexity. The design is integrated in a five channel analog front end (AFE) with one of the proposed configuration for ultrasonic sensor and it is fabricated with 180 nm CMOS technology. By using this serial interface design, the required pin reduction is 85.25% and 100% throughput is achievable. The P2S and S2P occupy a very small area of 6671 μm2 and both requires only 760 gates for implementation. The total current consumption is upto 102 μA from 1.8 V power supply and only 157 μW power for full operation is needed. The simulation and measurement results verify the functional accuracy and rigorousness of the proposed design with both operating modes and adopted configuration.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115253485","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The prominent southbound OpenFlow protocol used in SDN environments provides an intuitive means for traffic monitoring. Limited statistical information based on generic OpenFlow flow measurements however, fails to represent the correlation among several network parameters of administrative interest, used to construct optimal policies in modern enterprise SDN. The present study investigates the multi-dimensional nature of network traffic in enterprise SDN to realize increased control granularity and provide an insight into network behaviour. OpenFlow based flow statistics are collected for this purpose from a realistic enterprise SDN over a two-week time frame. The flow measurements are independently subjected to unsupervised cluster analysis to derive unique traffic classes based on application trends, aggregate daily traffic volume, flow size, and spatial as well as temporal traffic distribution. Contrary to basic flow-level information, traffic distribution across multiple features provides a comprehensive understanding into the network workload, recommending the utilization of derived traffic classes in several areas of SDN improvement including anomaly detection, energy utilization, load balancing and user-centric policy construction.","PeriodicalId":107273,"journal":{"name":"2017 International Conference on Frontiers of Information Technology (FIT)","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2017-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132941897","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
