Sliding banners allow multiple pieces of content to occupy a single, coveted space, but on large or small view ports, people often scroll past sliding banners. Modern microcontrollers can provide opportunities to improve the efficiency and capability of traditional HIL testing. Many of these opportunities are connected to their internal so called Trace interfaces. This paper shortly introduces the capabilities of these Trace interfaces, and presents the way to integrate them into a professional HIL test development environment the NI VeriStand. The integration process starts with the acquisition of Trace signals, which requires a high speed FPGA based solution, and then a way to capture and process the data at the VeriStand engine level (usually runs on a real-time target), and at the Workspace level (Host PC) is described. The paper presents a real application of the Linguistic Fuzzy-Logic Control, developed at the University of Ostrava for the control of physical models in the laboratory at the Department of Informatics and Computers the Faculty of Science. This technology and real models are used as a background for problem-oriented teaching, realized at the department for master students and their collaborative as well as individual final projects. The paper presents two examples of sensitive non-linear models such a helicopter model and magnetic levitation model and obtained results which show how modern information technologies can help for solving actual technical problems. Non-minimum phase systems contain an undershoot in the initial part of its dynamic behaviour. The traditional approach in predictive control of non-minimum phase systems is based on increasing of the minimum prediction horizon. This method may not be always absolutely effective. In this paper there is proposed an approach which is based on manipulating with constraints in an optimization subsystem. Quality and quantity of produced steel is needed to rise so steelworks are able to compete in world in this part of an industry. One of the options how to raise the quality in technological processes is to optimally control the process. In today's modern automated systems is necessary not only stabilized level of control but also optimizing level. It is main purpose is to determinate optimal values (trajectories) controlling constants of the process which stabilizing level is trying to keep. They can be used not only to model the system dynamics but also to express the controller structure. In this paper the real-time implementation of a Laguerre network-based control system using a micro programmable logic controller (PLC) is presented. Generally the PC is not needed for the real-time control execution, but it may be used to support the control design, signal processing and visualization. Posturography is a general term that covers all the techniques used to quantify postural control in upright stance in either static or dynamic conditions. This study focused on static posturography only. Static posturography is carried out by placing the patient in a standing posture on a fixed instrumented platform connected to sensitive detectors, which are able to detect the tiny oscillations of the body. Though the Wii Balance Board was originally designed as a video game controller, obtained results show that Wii Balance Board can become a device useful for assessing center of pressure displacement in medical examinations.
