The data covers measurements obtained during the first months after deployment of the monitoring equipment. The system measures CH4, CO2 and O2 concentrations, and also the speed and volume of the exhausted mine gas. The analysis of the measured data focuses on finding dependencies between variables and thus on finding possibilities for predicting and conditioning the behavior of mine gases. This analysis will also serve to identify and verify safety issues concerning the deployment of new monitoring devices based on the present prototype.","PeriodicalId":105920,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128954110","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Because of high structural sensitivity of optical transmittance to glass composition we present sophisticated solution of experimental data evaluation to obtain way directly predict the proper glass composition-transmitance relation. In the paper we present application of artificial neural network (ANN) on relation between glass composition versus optical transmittance of the chosen glass systems of Sb2O3 - PbCl2 and Sb2O3 - PbO - M2O, where M was Na, K and Li, respectively. The developed neural model predicts optical transmittance with sufficiently small error (7%). Neural networks are able to simulate dependences which can be hardly solved by classic methods of statistic data evaluation and they are able to express more complex relations than these methods.","PeriodicalId":105920,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"111 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-06-26","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131665564","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

In many technology branches, parameter monitoring of structures is necessary to guarantee a non-failure operation of technical applications. A monitoring system often contains tens or hundreds of sensors. The application of a conventional supply of these sensors requires the use of either kilometers of wire or hundreds of batteries. A promising field of research is an utilization of natural properties of piezoelectric materials for a conversion of mechanical energy, e.g. from vibration to electric energy. In the first part of this article, the piezoelectric ceramics is discussed in the field of its application in generators. In the second part the structure of a generator is discussed. The article focuses on the structure consisting of the piezoelectric material connected with the cantilever beam. In the last part, the results of simulation research are presented and discussed.","PeriodicalId":105920,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"2013 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127381292","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Within a simplified modular design [1]-[4], in a nominal case, the filters required for a FPD controller implementation and a noise attenuation may be generalized to several augmented situations without necessity to repeat analysis of its optimal and critical tuning. The spectrum of possible situations includes loops with a disturbance observer based integral action, loops with a dynamical feedforward control and loops with a reference models applicable also to systems with a long dead time. In the tuning analysis, the traditional analytical method as the parameter space method [5], or the triple real dominant pole method [2] are combined with the numerical performance portrait method [1], [6]. A loop performance is evaluated by newly introduced measures for deviations from monotonic and two-pulse shapes of transients typical for control of plants with dominant 2nd order dynamics. The analysis shows that for a broad class of situations, a simplified design derived for a double integrator gives acceptable results also for 2nd order integral systems with one stable/unstable mode.","PeriodicalId":105920,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122066190","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Since this problem is generally stated as a bilinear optimization problem, using standard form of Lyapunov function and symmetric positive definite slack matrices, an enhanced algorithm is introduced with incidence of a scalar tuning parameter. The solution, obtained through linear matrix inequalities and equalities formulation, also unifies the control law design LMI-based procedure. The results, offering the conditions of PI output controller existence, are illustrated with numerical examples to note effectiveness and applicability of the considered approach.","PeriodicalId":105920,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"39 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128744384","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are several traditional examinations, which can be revived for use in current medical practice. The aim of this study was to utilize skeleton tracking feature of the Microsoft Kinect sensor to monitor patients' movement to provide objective outputs from particular examination. The preliminary tests have shown that device is able to provide significant information that can be useful for implementation of Unterberger's and Hautant's test. Hautant's test has been subsequently programmed for laboratory experiments and in the course of this year the results will be discussed and tested in cooperation with specialists in otoneurology. The combination of Kinect sensor and future software application appear to be further applicable with possible benefits in practice. Using gaming equipment can greatly accelerate the development, because research does not need to focus on the development of hardware, but most efforts may be directed to the implementation of the particular objectives and results may be earlier deployed for practical tests and use. Great importance is also the price of the hardware. Due to the masses spread of the gaming industry the price is much lower than the equipment developed specifically for particular medicine examination. However, to enforce any new device into practical use in medicine is a complicated process and push the proposed solution, at least for screening tests will be a sufficient satisfaction.","PeriodicalId":105920,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the 2014 15th International Carpathian Control Conference (ICCC)","volume":"318 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2014-05-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129000220","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
