Each mobile node in the mobile IP mechanism has to process the handoff procedure; however, the proposed mobile router can process handoff procedures for more mobile nodes simultaneously. Network performance in terms of round-trip time (RTT) and handoff latency is investigated. Improvement to packet loss with the embedded-based mobile router is 36% and average RTT is decreased by approximately 34%. However, the performance of this scheme significantly decreases under the conditions of fading channel due to loss of mutual orthogonality between streams in fading. In this paper the modification of the original D-TxAA scheme is proposed which allows to improve the performance in fading channel. This improvement was achieved by means of using the additional STTD encoding on top of D-TxAA scheme, which leads to some theoretical performance decrease in static channel. OXADM features two different bandwidth which operate in working and protection line in a ring configuration. The 'accumulation' feature has expanded their application in wavelength management and restoration system in contrast with conventional devices such as OADM and OXC. With two restoration schemes, the OXADM prototype system focuses on providing survivability through restoration against failures, such as cable/fiber cut in optical layer with ring topology by means of linear/multiplex protection and ring protection. Hybrid restoration technique with OXADM enables the linear, ring and multiplex protection mechanism to be integrated in single optical network, and it will be activated according to the degree and types of failure. The paper presents the OSNR studies on OXADM and its junction by analytically and experimentally. The maximum cascaded OXADMs based on the number of operating wavelengths and input/output ports are also calculated. The surface current of the antenna is solved by the Method of Moment (MoM), and input impedance, transfer function and radiated pulse waveform of it are presented. The research indicated that, in the interesting frequency band, its input impedance is in good agreement with the theoretical value of that of Self-Compensated antennas (as defined by Babinet' principle). Its transfer function has a flat amplitude response and a linear phase response over very wide band. PESA can be used as a ultra-wide band (UWB) pulse antenna. The S-RARE technique is a generic add-on middleware to MANET routing algorithms. A simplified mathematical model is presented using the probabilistic technique. In this paper, we used the principle of the biologically inspired ant routing technique as example to implement the S- RARE algorithm. The similarities and differences between S-RARE and the traditional ant technique have been highlighted. The S-RARE quickly finds a path between the source and destination with low overhead. S-RARE technique performs better in highly dynamic network topology. The performance of the proposed S-RARE is simulated and compared to the traditional ant in radio network model (random graph model). After, we present two more sequential versions, operating one at half rate and the other at a quarter rate. Anomalies are significant changes in traffic levels, which can cause grave consequences to the execution of services offered by the network. The main characteristics of the anomaly detection system proposed in this work are: (i) application of the DSNS (digital signature of network segment), in order to detect the traffic behavior deviations, (ii) application of a dependency graph that represents the relations between the SNMP objects, in order to correlate the alarms generated for different objects. The results obtained from initial tests performed in a real environment were encouraging. In terms of performance criteria, byte loss rate, end-to-end delay and access delay are considered. A 2-state MMPP(Markov modulated Poisson process) traffic generator on a 14-node mesh network topology illustrating NSFNET is chosen as the testbed. This topology is simulated using NS2 network simulation platform. Bursts are created using a hybrid model that takes into account both timeout and maximum length methods. In edge and core nodes, there are different QoS mechanisms such as explicit tear down and priority based queuing. Simulation results have shown that JIT (just in time) algorithm is not as successful as JET (just enough time) and horizon when the network is highly loaded.
