This paper describes the analytical modeling of OXADMs and studies their performance as compared to conventional OXC devices. With two restoration schemes, the OXADM prototype system focuses on providing survivability through restoration against failures by means of linear/multiplex and ring protection. Degradation is expected to be about 2 dB in output power with respect to normal conditions in ring protection activation. The test was carried out at 2.5 Gbps with BER 1 times 10-10 for linear protection while BER 1 times 10-19 (to west) and 1 times 10-13 (to east) were used for ring protection. The method of study involves the building and characterizing of two OXADMs, simulated by using Optisystem and modeling them analytically. Most of the available optical monitoring solutions are proprietary and single vendor solutions only (firmware). Even the existing software is often limited in functionality to one-domain homogeneous network environment only and extremely difficult to apply in many operators multi-domain heterogeneous environment. Unfortunately, network operators as well as users of optical paths (or client trails in SDH) can only successfully monitor and use wavelengths infrastructures spanning over multiple domains if they have efficient monitoring and fault detection tools available to them. In this paper we present an effective and open source tool for monitoring wavelengths. When the first VoIP solution was introduced in 1996, the Internet's audio transport capabilities were far below the benchmark set by public-network standards and therefore much lower per-forming than traditional telephony. Considering that Internet Telephony is constantly being promoted as the next killer application in Next Generation Networks and as the potential substitute for current telephony technologies, voice quality however needs to at least be equal to the level ISDN telephony provides at the moment. The following comparison of VoIP and traditional telephony QoS levels and their corresponding performance development revealed the following: QoS of Internet Telephony was intolerably low when first introduced, compared to the standards set by the traditional telephony. However, these shortcomings were largely factored out and optimised through numerous QoS enhancing methods, meaningful traffic engineering and network planning. By doing so, each mote is given a certain degree of perception cognition and control, forming the basis for its intelligence. We have developed, implemented and evaluated a real time application in a dynamic environment to determine how well in-motes achieves its goals. Namely, in-motes Bins is an agent based in- motes application for environmental monitoring sensing light and temperature variations. Using in-motes we were able to create and rapidly deploy our application on a WSN consisting of 10 MICA2 motes. Our application was tested in a wine store for a period of four months. In this paper we present the in-motes bins application and provide a detailed evaluation of its implementation. GDV is difficult to analyze exactly for modulation purposes in practical systems, but it is relatively simple to simulate. Push systems are able to provide high scalability and client hardware simplicity in such environments. This paper proposes the use of multiple smart antennas to increase the performance of an adaptive wireless push system in environments characterized by locality of demand. Simulation results reveal that the use of smart antennas suffices a significant performance increase over the use of static directional antennas. It has been established in literature that coverage or capacity of the 3G system cannot be planned individually because of the interference limited nature of the air-interface. Estimation of interference is an important step in determining the coverage or capacity of a cell. The amount of interference seen at each receiver location is highly dependent on transmit powers, which in turn depend on the closed loop power control in uplink and downlink. It is possible to estimate capacity of a cell fairly accurately using static simulation when the location information of transmitters and receivers are available. Even though stochastic models using statistical distribution of transmit powers and interferences cannot take into account all the unique characteristics of the Universal Mobile Telecommunication System (UMTS) simultaneously, they are useful in estimating performance figures during radio network planning for UMTS systems. Fault tolerance is achieved is achieved by using FPGA with on the fly partial programmability feature. Major considerations while mapping to the FPGA includes the size of the area to be mapped and communication issues related to their communication. Area size selection is compared to the page size selection in Operating System Design. Communication issues between modules are compared to the software engineering paradigms dealing with module coupling, fan-in, fan-out and cohesiveness.
