Starting from the MAVs' motion linear model (section II of the paper), the authors present an optimal system for the stabilization and control of the main variables associated to the general motion of a miniature aerial vehicle (section III of the paper). The theoretical results are validated by numerical simulations in Matlab/Simulink environment (section IV of the paper); the states and command variables' history for the designed optimal control system are plotted and the system functionality is proved.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"115746511","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Two basic geometries, found at aircrafts, are investigated in this paper: a dihedral and a cylinder. The finite thickness of these objects was considered, as well. The Radar cross section was assessed by using two-dimensional signals with linear modulation covering a discrete frequency band for about two octaves. The results, obtained by simulation, show that it may be possible to detect the specific electromagnetic signatures of the different kind of aircrafts by spatial and temporal signal processing.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"471 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"132268965","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Active suspension based on Magnetorheological (MR) dampers is an attractive solution in improving vehicle stability and passenger comfort. These Dampers are highly nonlinear and their modeling and control is a challenge. The multi-model approach is applied to describe the highly nonlinear two-degrees-of-freedom (2-DOF) one-quarter-vehicle semi-active suspension with an MR damper. The objective is to show that an MR damper, represented by the Bouc-Wen approach, is suitable for control purposes. Passenger comfort and vehicle stability are translated into constraints on a controlled output. Therefore, the control problem aims to attenuate the effect of the road profile which is considered as an exogenous input. This problem is solved using the H∞ techniques applied to the non linear system. Due to the multi-model nature of the system description, the controller is obtained from Linear Matrix Inequalities conditions. A numerical case and simulation work support the results.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"74 1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130060990","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The behavior of an induction generator working in autonomous mode and which supply an inductive resistive load is presented using a numerical model developed in Matlab-simulink. The startup phenomenon and the problematic which appear for this working mode are presented and discussed leaning on the simulated results obtained from various studied cases. Computed characteristics have been verified experimentally in laboratory using three-phase squirrel-cage induction machine. The ESC 2D-schemes have two loops where the output signal is obtained based on two different ESC algorithms proposed in the literature. The basic high-order ESC (bhoESC) 2D-scheme and an improved ESC variant will be analyzed here based on the two orthogonal dither signals. The proposed ESC scheme is based on a band-pass filter (BPF) instead of the series combination of high-pass (HP) and low-pass (LP) filters used in the bhoESC scheme. The processing of the output signal shows that the search speed in both bpfESC loops depends on the BPF cut-off frequencies. So, besides the gradient signals, the injected signals on the both bhoESC inputs contain the Low Frequencies (LF) components from the BPF band. Thus the dither persistence in the bpfESC loops is improved in comparison with the bhoESC scheme. The relations between the search speeds and the partial derivatives of an unknown DISO map are shown.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"98 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122105761","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
