Properties in term of dynamic spectrum adjustment make OFDM a promising technology for Cognitive Radio systems. An OFDM modulation suffers from high power peaks, which significantly degrade the power efficiency and the linearity of the transmitter. In this paper, the Tone Reservation method is used to reduce the Peak-To-Average Power-Ratio (PAPR) in OFDM systems. We intend to consider an adaptive algorithm to improve speed convergence and PAPR reduction gain, taking into account the complexity of the algorithm. The proposed approach is based on the Conjugate-gradient method which is a powerful gradient descent algorithm, reliable and efficient on a wide range of optimization problems. The radio-frequency Power Amplifier (PA) being the most sensitive element to envelope fluctuations, a class AB 2.4GHz-2W InGaP PA is used to evaluate the performance of the proposed method in terms of Bit Error Rate and Error Vector Magnitude.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"356 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"126692311","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Indeed, hand veins biometric are robust and steady human authentication unlike to other biometric technologies as fingerprint, face, signature and voice. In the present work, the proposed system consists of image preprocessing, feature extraction and identification. This paper outlines a novel approach for identification, based on seven Hu's invariant moments that are extracted from the vein images as feature representation, due to its invariant features on image translation, scaling and rotation. However, they are sensitive to noise. Therefore, discrete binary particle swarm optimization (PSO) is applied in solving a problem of optimization; for selecting optimal features of Hu's invariant moments that minimize false accept rate (FAR) and false reject rate (FRR).The experimental results carried out on 102 users show that the discrete binary PSO-Invariant Moments improve the performance of our biometric system with FAR= 0% and FRR=0%, with fewer number of features and threshold of 72%.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"3 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127935473","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Presently the grid power available is only limited to three-phase so the supply to multi-phase motors is invariably given from power electronic converters. For applications operating with electric cars, multiphase system could satisfy potential demand for electric drive systems of power, which are both robust and energy efficient. The paper presents the modeling and simulations of an induction motor with 3 and 5 phases.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"2 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"122239087","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

There are numerous games and each game has a different set of rules and different set of strategies for playing them. Though the design model of the game is similar to a set of particular games of the same domain, still we have to have a different strategic model for every individual game. The strategy design for these games also has to be different. Hence the paper proposes a new model for the design of game strategy by generalising the approach. Virtual generation of various strategies with the inter-application of basic strategies and complex strategies from various set of games into one another is the proposed algorithm. This gives a new approach entirely to the modelling of game strategies. It does so with the help of trained networks which are dynamically created and virtually maintained. This paper proposes a entire new approach in game modelling; more generalized and a more integrated approach.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"130424034","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The complex structure of the claw-pole magnetic circuit required a 3D FEM model and a double scalar potential magnetic φ-φred formulation, in order to reduce computing time and memory. The no-load and magnetization characteristics and the e.m.f. time dependence have been calculated. Working characteristics and the induced voltage in the static winding can be calculated by knowing the 3D distribution of the field in stationary magnetic regime for successive positions of the rotor considering the stator.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"29 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"131518121","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This array is made of four LC-NMOS differential VCOs coupled through a resistive network and can be used to perform beam-scanning by controlling the relative phases of the signals applied on each element of a linear antenna array. At 2.5 V power supply voltage, and a power dissipation of only 125 mW, the coupled VCO array features a simulated phase noise of -127.3 dBc/Hz at 1 MHz frequency offset from a 6 GHz carrier, giving a simulated phase progression that is continuously variable over the range -64° <; Δφ <;64° and -116° <; Δφ <; 116°. This constant phase progression is established by slightly detuning the peripheral array elements, while maintaining mutual synchronization.","PeriodicalId":105698,"journal":{"name":"Proceedings of the International Conference on ELECTRONICS, COMPUTERS and ARTIFICIAL INTELLIGENCE - ECAI-2013","volume":"37 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2013-06-27","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"114330151","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
