This leads to good responses of the power converter in dynamic and in steady-state regime, but a proper estimation of the control parameters is needed. Thus the fixed frequency sliding mode control is analyzed, the control function, the existence conditions and the stability conditions are calculated. Based on this calculations the conditions for the sliding mode coefficients are determined and interpreted for design purposes. Finally a algorithm for the estimation of sliding mode coefficients is proposed and the stated considerations are verified through simulation.","PeriodicalId":103513,"journal":{"name":"2015 9th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"79 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128627305","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Several particular requirements related to the size, weight and dynamics did rise non-conventional challenges and therefore a less-than classical approach have been considered. The proposed solution consists in a combination of an external rotor mated with an internal stator with ring coils. Furthermore, the coils arrangement may be reconfigured on-the-fly, allowing operation with two distinct synchronous speeds (different number of poles), solution which largely fulfills all the requirements.","PeriodicalId":103513,"journal":{"name":"2015 9th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"21 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129106304","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

One applications category can be underserved by hybrid systems composed from UAV and ground WSN. UAV can gather data from ground WSN which, at its turn could be initially deployed by the UAV itself. This paper presents an algorithm with this purpose which makes use of directional antenna for ground nodes together with a novel communication synchronization mechanism. Currently, the most part of electrical cables used for power delivery contains huge amounts of conductors and polymeric materials. Therefore, every year thousands of kilometers of cables are disaffected and the polymeric insulation and metals are recovered for other applications. Generally, the electrical insulation and polymeric sheath of the most part of medium and low voltage cables are made of polyvinyl chloride (PCV) and polyethylene (PE). In view to recycling the mixtures that result from cables chopping, an effective method widely used is the electrostatic separation. The present paper is focused on the electrostatic separation of granular mixtures containing two different PCV sorts that are used for insulation and sheaths of cables. A laboratory-scaled roll-type electrostatic separator is used in order to process a specially prepared granular mixture that consists of particles of sheath and insulations PCV. The results show that the particles of PCV used for conductors' insulation can be sorted from those resulting from PCV sheath chopping. Also, it is observed that, the separation efficiency can be increased by adjusting the applied voltage and the rotation speed of the roll electrode.","PeriodicalId":103513,"journal":{"name":"2015 9th International Symposium on Advanced Topics in Electrical Engineering (ATEE)","volume":"55 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2015-05-07","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124987414","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

For cost efficiency the control is performed with the simplest appropriate PLC. Thus, the software code was wisely developed to be fast and small size. Starting from an educational platform, which models a two floor elevator using a DC electrical drive, different sensors types and a PLC, the development of the actual driving sequences and PLC program, written using ladder diagram language, is detailed. In order to account for various normal operation and malfunctioning scenarios, some testing techniques are presented as well as their implemented into the PLC's program.
