BACnet (building automation and control networks) is a standard data communication protocol designed specifically for building automation and control systems. BACnet provides BACnet/IP protocol for data communication through the Internet. BACnet/IP device uses BBMD (BACnet broadcasting management device) to deliver BACnet broadcast messages. In this study, we propose a fault tolerant BBMD in the BACnet/IP protocol. The fault tolerant BBMD improves the connectivity of BACnet/IP networks by inheriting the operation of the original BBMD to the backup BBMDs. The fault tolerant BBMD was designed to provide backward compatible with the original BACnet/IP devices. In this study, we implemented the fault tolerant BBMD and examined its validity using an experimental model.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"52 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"128571072","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Over the years, Mel-frequency cepstral coefficients (MFCC) modeled on the human auditory system have been used as a standard acoustic feature set for SI applications. However, due to the structure of its filter bank, it captures vocal tract characteristics more effectively in the lower frequency regions. This work proposes a new set of features using a complementary filter bank structure which improves distinguishability of speaker specific cues present in the higher frequency zone. Unlike high level features that are difficult to extract, the proposed feature set involves little computational burden during the extraction process. When combined with MFCC via a parallel implementation of speaker models, the proposed feature improves performance baseline of MFCC based system. The proposition is validated by experiments conducted on two different kinds of databases namely YOHO (microphone speech) and POLYCOST (telephone speech) with Gaussian mixture model (GMM) as a classifier for various model orders.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"25 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"124618363","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) technique is used for selecting optimal value of PNN parameter. An algorithm has been developed around the theme of the conventional differential protection of transformer. It makes use of ratio of voltage to frequency and amplitude of differential current for the determination of operating conditions of the transformer. For the evaluation of the algorithm, relaying signals for various operating conditions of a transformer, including internal and external faults and inrush conditions, were simulated in PSCAD/EMTDC. The results amply demonstrate the capability of the proposed algorithm in terms of accuracy and speed. The algorithm has been implemented in MATLAB.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"1 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"129540061","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Also we have introduced: definition of interval valued triangular vague set and arithmetic operations between two interval valued triangular vague sets. Further, a new method has been developed for analyzing the fuzzy system reliability of a series and parallel system using interval valued triangular vague sets, where the reliability of each component of a system is represented by an interval valued triangular vague set defined in the universe of discourse [0,1].The developed method has been used to analyze the fuzzy reliability of a computer system. The proposed method can model and analyze the fuzzy system reliability in a more flexible and intelligent manner in comparison to the method given by Chen (2003). The major advantage of the proposed approach (the concept of interval valued vague sets) over the existing approaches is that the proposed approach separates the positive and negative evidence for the membership of an element in a set. Also in the proposed approach the values of the membership and non-membership of an element in a set are intervals instead of a single real number.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"86 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"123622309","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Signals representation in PCM format allows to calculate correlation functions (CF) with assign accuracy, however at the same time causes a large number of multi-bit operations and leads to insufficient fast-acting of CA. Therefore, in such tasks it is expedient to use small-bit differential methods without multiplications. However, the known approaches to differential CA are not enough studied. It has been designed to remove dust, smoke or small particles with diameters in the range of 0.3 micrometer, such as tobacco smoke. The simulation test result, done by drawing the smoke of dust through the unit, has proven that the machine can trap all these dust. This confirms that the efficiency design of this dust trap apparatus gets 96.5% for the mass test. The system used IC NO. (TL 494) is signal generated. The square wave signal is brought in, to drive the power MOSFET NO.IRFP350, to induce the high frequency transformer for the output and separate ground by itself. This way it gives the flyback transformer the input needed for the output. The importance of the system is the ionization section and the dust collecting section, which are energized by a flyback transformer. It receives a direct current of 10 kV for the flyback transformer and wind velocity 168 cubic metre per hour.","PeriodicalId":103105,"journal":{"name":"2006 IEEE International Conference on Industrial Technology","volume":"9 1","pages":"0"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2006-12-01","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"127688243","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
