If a radical correction of the defect is performed timely, the child will grow up healthy. Combinations of congenital malformations create serious difficulties for clinicians and require the participation of a multidisciplinary team, combining various approaches and methods. The article presents a clinical case of a newborn child with atresia of the ileum, hypoplasia of the aortic arch and bilateral hypoplasia of the kidneys. Since birth, the child’s condition was complicated by the development of shock and subsequent azotemia, hyperhydration. Since the correction of atresia could not be postponed for a long time, it was decided to perform implantation of a peritoneal catheter during surgery on the intestine in case of a repeat episode of acute kidney injury. The direct neurotropic impact of HIV creates the pathogenic basis for this clinical syndrome. The purpose — to evaluate the cognitive status and neuron-specific enolase (NSE) level in cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) in HIV-encephalopathy patients. Material and methods. 35 patients were included in the study. They were divided into two groups: 20 patients (9 females and 11 males) with cognitive dysfunction and confirmed diagnosis of HIV/AIDS and 15 patients (6 females and 9 males) were in comparison group. The cognitive status was investigated by mini-mental state examination (MMSE), international HIV-dementia scale (IHDS) and frontal assessment battery (FAB). CSF level of NSE were investigated by ELISA test. Results. Correlation between cognitive dysfunction severity and NSE level in CSF was determined in HIV-encephalopathy patients. Conclusion. The purpose — to investigate and evaluate the indicator significance of the functional potential of colonization defense in respiratory tract diseases.The paper presents the results of a study of colonization resistance indicators using modern research methods (colonization index, artificial colonization of the buccal epithelium and antiadhesive activity of saliva) in 184 patients aged 5 to 18 years with acute bronchitis, recurrent bronchitis and community-acquired pneumonia.Results. In a comparative aspect, the heterogeneity of the colonization level on buccal epitheliocytes of indigenous microflora (oral streptococci) was clearly traced, depending on the topic of the respiratory tract inflammatory lesion. Colonization resistance suffered the most in patients with community-acquired pneumonia. In patients of this group, the colonization index was within 0.89 (0.07) standard units (p < 0.01), which was combined with a pronounced adhesion of Candida albicans on buccal epitheliocytes (r = -0.72). In patients with acute bronchitis, the colonization index was 1.86 (0.21) standard units; with recurrent course of bronchitis – 1.27 (0.19) units (p < 0.01), while the indicators of the control group were 2.03 (0,18). The presence of less typical microorganisms in the oropharynx reflects the weakening of colonization resistance, signaling destabilization processes focused on the mucous membranes level.Conclusion. Material and methods. Review of publications based on search results in the electronic resources PubMed, Elibrary, EMBASE and Google Scholar. Results. Marked differences between endometriosis and adenomyosis in pathogenesis, lesion localisation and clinical features have led to the recognition of adenomyosis as a separate clinical entity. In the new International Classification of Diseases 11th Revision, adenomyosis was removed from the section «Endometriosis» (GA10) and presented as a separate disease «Adenomyosis». Identical KRAS mutations in epithelial cells in endometriosis, adenomyosis and combined endometriosis suggest that adenomyosis and endometriosis are oligoclonal lesions arising from populations of cells of the basal layer of the endometrium carrying a specific driver mutation. Medication strategies that block ovarian steroidogenesis, as well as local estrogen synthesis, are a long-term treatment option for these chronic diseases. Conclusion. Material and methods. The study included preschool children with a verified diagnosis of chronic adenoiditis. The control group consisted of conditionally healthy children without chronic diseases. All children were divided into introverts and extraverts. The features of somatometric and somatoscopic indicators of physical development, emotional, characterological and intellectual indicators of neuropsychic development and socialization were studied. Results. For introverted children with chronic adenoiditis, the disease onset occurred at the age of 3–4 years; obstructive sleep apnea syndrome in combination with snoring prevailed; the duration was about a year and a half; frequent acute purulent otitis media with a long monotonous course, the manifestation of excessive vagotonia and pronounced disorders of sound reproduction were observed. In extroverted children, chronic adenoiditis debuted at the age of 4–5 years, in the form of postnasal syndrome with night cough, excessive sympathicotonia and with earlier formation of exudative otitis and hearing loss; the duration of the disease was about six months. Introverts with chronic adenoiditis were three times more likely than healthy children of this type to have body mass deficiency and microsomia, lower indicators of social activity, abstract thinking, attention, fine motor skills and semantic memory. In extroverts with chronic adenoiditis, among the variants of physical development disorders, the frequency of excess body weight and macrosomia doubled, the level of impulsivity increased, discipline, large-motor giftedness, conceptual and visual-imaginative thinking decreased. Conclusion. Clinical and functional differences in the course of chronic adenoiditis in children of intro- and extravert types and the identified features of their physical and neuropsychic development can be the basis for creating differentiated programs for their medical and social support on an outpatient basis. The founder of classical obstetrics, born in Holland in 1651 and working during the epoch of obstetrics renaissance, Deventer wrote eight books popular till today. Deventer was an active opponent of aggressive obstetrics — he did not use obstetric forceps, nor the vacuum extraction of the fetus that was emerging at that time. He was the first to give a detailed description of the pelvis and to suggest that the shape and size of the pelvic bone could cause difficulties in childbirth. His instructions — to change the position of a woman in labor with pathological insertions of the fetal head are widely used by modern obstetricians. The term «Deventer’s pelvis» went down in the history of obstetrics – a simple flat pelvis, in which all direct dimensions are reduced (the planes of the entrance, cavity and exit of the pelvis). One of the varieties of Deventer’s pelvis is a reduction of only the direct size of the wide part of the pelvic cavity (with all other normal pelvic sizes), which occurs in 15–18% of all pregnant women. The presented clinical observation shows how the use of the Kristeller’s technique with a delayed fetal head can lead to severe traumatic complications in both the mother and the fetus. Material and methods.86 patients were examined at the outpatient stage of rehabilitation 6 weeks after myocardial infarction with primary coronary angioplasty with stenting. Results.Echocardiography revealed left ventricular hypertrophy (LVH) in 34 patients with myocardial infarction with concomitant arterial hypertension. Patients with LVH are characterized by more pronounced structural and functional LV remodeling, which is expressed in a lower LVEF and increased LVEDD, LVESVand LVEDV(p<0.05). There were no differences in stroke volume between patients with and without LVH. The performed diastolic stress test in patients with LVH is characterized by significantly lower average early diastolic mitral annular velocity e` (7.6 vs. 9.3 cm/s, p<0.01) without differences in the peak early transmitral Doppler flow velocity E (69.8 vs 78.0, p>0.05) compared with patients without LVH. The revealed differences between patients with and without LVH are due to a higher post-exercise velocity e` in patients with normal LV geometry and a decrease in eccentric LVH subgroup.
