Romanian local varieties with valuable traits can be used to develop novel organic varieties. Nine Romanian tomato (Solanum lycopersicum L.) and seven pepper (Capsicum annuum L.) varieties were compared during seedling emergence in growth chamber and greenhouse conditions. The aim of this study was to observe the variation of several emergence indicators among the varieties of the same species under the same growing conditions, differences that can be correlated with genotype variation in further genotyping research, with the final goal of using these results as a basis for genotype-assisted breeding programs. The present survey demonstrated significant differences in the emergence indicators among the varieties studied, both in the growth chamber and in the greenhouse growing conditions. Ștefănești 24 tomato variety stood out with the longest mean emergence time, mean emergence rate, synchrony and highest uncertainty of emergence, whereas Vladimir pepper variety had the lowest values for percentage of emergence, homogeneity and uncertainty of emergence.","PeriodicalId":9406,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Horticulture","volume":"78 1","pages":"76"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45908237","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the paper is to realize a study on green spaces and an urban distribution of the size of a systematic planning of functional and aesthetic qualities. This study examines the distribution and amount of green space, as well as the size and rates per capita are assessed. Even the distribution of distance and the accessibility of green areas throughout the city are closely linked to ensuring recreational needs. Spatial statistics using GIS have made possible the development of correct, coherent explanatory UGS variables such as distance, size, density, connectivity, sight and accessibility. The parks and all green spaces composed of polygons were digitized from the ArcGIS Attribute Table for the evaluation of per capita rates and the execution of a plan to combat the deficit of green spaces. In order to make an assessment of the green spaces, a comparative study of the area of interest from 2010 and 2020 was considered. According to the spatial analyses from ArcGis, during the 10 years, an intense real estate market was developed, affecting the distribution of green spaces per capita.","PeriodicalId":9406,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Horticulture","volume":"82 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"85139419","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

This paper includes the presentation of the operations necessary to prepare the cadastral documentation for detachment in two lots, using UAV photogrammetric technology. The studied area is located in the suburbs of Valea Ierii locality, with an area of 212353 sqm. The main part of the project was based on the use of the UAV photogrammetric method to survey the area. At the same time, two GNSS receivers were used to complete the photogrammetric measurements. Control and verification points were premarked on the ground, the coordinates of which were determined by the real-time kinematic GNSS method. This operation was followed by performing the photogrammetric flight using an UAS platform. The flight lasted about 17 minutes, covered an area of 29 ha and 288 frames were captured. The front overlap between photos was set to 75% and the side overlap to 65%. New technologies for taking frames and processing them have been adopted, through methods that involve a low cost and a shorter time to perform specific operations.","PeriodicalId":9406,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Horticulture","volume":"78 1","pages":"89"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"45300107","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The research was carried out in a three-factorial experimental scheme, in which were taken into consideration as variation factors: three cultivars of tomatoes, 3 colors of light emitted by the LED bulbs and 3 intervals of time (15, 30 and 45 minutes/day) for plant exposure to the monochromatic additional light treatment. Biometric measurements were made on the height and diameter of the stems and assessments of seedling weight, as well as analyzes on nutrient composition, accumulated after three months of cultivation in the greenhouse. The results obtained are within the limits mentioned by the specialized literature for the best seedlings for the tested varieties of tomatoes.","PeriodicalId":9406,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Horticulture","volume":"78 1","pages":"46"},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42419984","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

Breaking physical dormancy for some forest seeds is a challenge for researchers and forest managers in order to obtain a homogeneous germination on larger areas. Germination percentage of honey locust seeds were investigated by using different chemical treatments as follows: calcium hydroxide; concentrated solution of sodium 4-nitrophenolate; solution with a content of auxines; copper sulphate; potassium permanganate and concentrated sulfuric acid. The highest percentage of seed germination was obtained when the seeds were immersed in an aqueous solution of sulfuric acid (14%), followed by 12.5% (concentrated solution of sodium 4-nitrophenolate) and 12.3% (solution with a content of auxins). The lowest values (5%) were recorded when copper sulphate was used. Regarding the different types of studied substrates, the highest percentage of germination was obtained on peat + sand. As regards to seedling development, the highest values were obtained on the peat + sand substrate, with seeds treated with sulfuric acid (15.0 cm). The concentrated solution of sodium 4-nitrophenolate and solution with auxins recorded also high values, 15.2 cm, respectively 14.9 cm.  The lowest values for seedling height (11 cm) was noted when seeds were treated with potassium permanganate.","PeriodicalId":9406,"journal":{"name":"Bulletin of University of Agricultural Sciences and Veterinary Medicine Cluj-Napoca: Horticulture","volume":"1 1","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2021-05-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"76522498","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
