Hydrothermal liquefaction (HTL) is gaining importance for the conversion of sugarcane bagasse to bio-oil, whose yield depends on the deoxygenation activity of the catalyst employed and process parameters. In this study, mesoporous Fe-MCM-41 catalysts were synthesized with crystallization time varied from 12 to 72 h, characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), textural analysis, Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM), Energy Dispersive X-ray (EDX), and evaluated for the HTL of sugarcane bagasse. All the Fe-MCM-41 catalysts gave higher bio-oil yield with lower oxygen content compared to non-catalytic HTL, confirmed their deoxygenation activity. Among them, Fe-MCM-41 synthesized after 24 h of crystallization was found to have the highest crystallinity, and surface area thus gave the highest bio-oil yield of 56.2% containing the least amount of oxygen of 15.3 wt% at 250 °C, initial CO pressure of 45 bar, reaction time of 120 min, Water/Biomass weight ratio of 28, Catalyst/Biomass weight ratio of 0.4 and 0.2, respectively. Overall process of HTL of sugarcane bagasse was found to involve two consecutive equilibria, first conversion of lignocellulose of sugarcane bagasse by hydrolysis to water soluble organics (WSO) followed by its deoxygenation to bio-oil. The photocatalyst was immobilized on the glass sheet. EDS, SEM, and FT-IR techniques were utilized to identify the morphology of the N doped-TiO2 nanoparticles. Different operating parameters (e.g., N loading (0, 4, 5, and 6 wt%), light intensity (20, 40, and 60 W/m2), and pH (4, 7, and 10)) were investigated for their effect on the DBT degradation.  The effect of the N loading on the wettability of the nano-TiO2 particles was also investigated. Experimental results revealed that the N loading did not affect the wettability characteristics of the nano TiO2 particles. Moreover, results showed that DBT conversion positively depends on N loading, light intensity (hv), and pH increase. The estimated optimal operating parameters were 5 wt% N loading, pH = 10, and hv = 40 W/m2 to ensure the best photo-oxidation efficiency of 91.4% after 120 min of operation. The outcomes of the present work confirmed the effective efficiency of the N-doped TiO2 nanoparticles irradiated by visible light for DBT degradation. Two types of nickel precursors (c.a., i) nickel metal (Ni°) derived from Raney®nickel and ii) nickel ion (Ni2+) derived from nickel chloride) were employed as the starting materials via hydrothermal at 423 K for 24 h followed by reduction with H2 at the elevated temperature of 573-873 K for 1.5 h. The physico-chemical properties of the intermetallic Ni3Sn2 were characterized by XRD, N2-, and H2-adsorption, ICP-AES, and NH3-TPD. The intermetallic Ni3Sn2 alloy catalysts, both bulk and supported, demonstrated high activity and selectivity towards hydrogenation of FFald. The activity and selectivity of g-Al2O3 and AA-supported Ni3Sn2 alloy catalysts in the hydrogenation of FFald to furfuryl alcohol (FFalc) were maintained even after annealing at up to 873 K, but that of bulk Ni3Sn2 drastically dropped. Ni-Sn alloy catalysts which were obtained from Raney®Ni precursor showed more stable than that of nickel salts during hydrogenation of furfural to furfuryl alcohol. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray Diffraction (XRD), Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR), and Scanning Electron Microscope—Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy (SEM-EDS). The typical diffraction peaks of Zn/Al-LDH, TiO2, and ZnO still appear in the Zn/Al-TiO2 and Zn/Al-ZnO composites, indicating that the composite preparation did not change the form of precursors. FTIR spectra of Zn/Al-TiO2 and Zn/Al-ZnO showed absorption band at 3448, 1627, 1381, 832, 779, and 686 cm-1. The catalysts have an irregular structure where the percent mass of Ti and Zn on the composite at 10.6% and 55.6%, respectively. The acidity of Zn/Al-LDH composite increased after being composed with TiO2 and ZnO. The percentage conversion dibenzothiophene on Zn/Al-ZnO, Zn/Al-TiO2, ZnO, Zn/Al-LDH, and TiO2 was 99.38%, 96.01%, 95.36%, 94.71%, and 91.92%, respectively. The heterogeneous systems of catalytic reaction was used for reusability. After 3 cycles catalytic reactions at 50 oC for 30 min, the percentage conversion of dibenzothiophene on Zn/Al-LDH, TiO2, ZnO, Zn/Al-TiO2, and Zn/Al-ZnO were 77.42%, 83.19%, 82.34%, 84.91%, and 89.71 %, respectively. The composites of Zn/Al-TiO2 and Zn/Al-ZnO have better reusability test than Zn/Al-LDH, TiO2, and ZnO, which proofing that Zn/Al-TiO2 and Zn/Al-ZnO have a stable structure. Currently, there are no effective catalysts for the co-production of C2-C4 alkenes and p-xylene from methanol. To date, modified medium-pore ZSM-5 zeolites are considered one of the excellent candidates for the development of selective catalysts for the conversion of methanol to lower alkenes and aromatic hydrocarbons. In this paper, nanosized (30-33nm) powders of HoхMg1-хAl2O4 spinel structure were obtained by the method of combustion of nitrate solutions of aluminium, magnesium, holmium, diethylmalonate and hydrazine monohydrate with the further calcination of nanopowders at 1000 °C. Obtained nanopowders used in the preparation of a solid-phase catalytic composition of HoхMg1-хAl2O4-HZSM-5. Various physico-chemical properties of the catalytic composition were investigated using X-ray diffraction (XRD), pyridine adsorption (BİO-RAD FTS 3000 MX) and low-temperature nitrogen adsorption (BET) techniques. The textural properties and acidity of the catalysts were altered by adjusting the nanopowder concentration (1.0-5.0 wt.%) in the catalytic composition. The conversion of methanol in the presence of the catalytic compositions was carried out in flow-type fixed-bed catalytic reactor at 400 °C, in the presence of nitrogen carrier gas with 1.0 h-1 flow rate. A correlation between the selectivity to C2-C4 alkenes and p-xylene with a ratio of Lewis (L) and Brønsted (B) acid sites and the volume of the catalyst pore, the amount of the modifier in the catalytic system has been established. As the amount of HoхMg1-хAl2O4 nanopowder increases, the ratio of B/L acid sites and the volume of the catalyst pore decrease, which play a significant role in the increase of the selectivity to C2-C4 alkenes and p-xylene. Maximum yield of C2-C4 alkenes (31.6%) and selectivity to p-xylene (80.5%) is achieved on a catalytic composition containing 5.0 wt.% HoxMg1-xAl2O4. In this work, TiO2 NPs were biosynthesized using the aqueous leaf extract of Azadirachta indica. The influence of the extract volumes, solvents, and acetic acid on the properties of TiO2 NPs was studied. Phytochemical screening and ATR-FTIR spectrum confirmed the presence of phenolic compounds in the leaf extract. XRD patterns showed that the samples were mainly in the anatase phase. However, for the water-based samples and when 1 and 2 mL of extract volumes were used, anatase/brookite mixture was observed. FESEM images displayed almost spherical and agglomerated NPs. UV-Vis-NIR studies showed that the samples’ bandgaps values are within the range of anatase TiO2. The photocatalytic activity of the TiO2 NPs was evaluated in the photodegradation of methyl orange (MO) under UV light irradiation. The water-based sample synthesized using 2 mL of the extract achieved 98.62% of MO degradation within 270 min and demonstrated the highest pseudo-first-order photodegradation kinetic constant of 0.0147 min-1. These results indicate that the use of the plant-based biosynthesis method with water as the solvent successfully produced TiO2 NPs with good physicochemical properties and photocatalytic activity in the photodegradation of organic dye. The materials were characterized by XRD, FTIR, SEM, and UV-DRS and were then applied as a photocatalyst to degrade MG. The effects of catalyst loading, pH value, and contact times on photodegradation performance were carried out in this study. The results indicated that        NiAl-LDH was successfully synthesized by showing the peak diffractions at angles 11.63°, 23.13°, and 35.16°. Both kinds of attained NiAl-[SiW12O40] and NiAl-[PW12O40] had typical structures of LDH that were proved by appearing diffraction at 2θ angles 10.76°, 26.59°, 30.8°, and 63.11° for NiAl-[PW12O40] and at 2θ angles 8.26°, 11.34°, 29°, and 35.1° for NiAl-[SiW12O40]. The materials used for the fifth regeneration were characterized by FTIR, which still presents characteristics of LDH structure. The photocatalyst was applied for the first time to degrade MG. The decrease of band gap on NiAl pristine than LDH composite from 4.76 eV to 3.22 eV for NiAl-[SiW12O40] and 3.78 eV for NiAl-[PW12O40] respectively, was presented by DR-UV analysis. LDH composite shows improved degradation photocatalytic performance in comparison with LDH pristine. It was present by the %degradation MG performances were 68.94% for NiAl LDH, 84.51% for NiAl-[PW12O40]), and 88.91% for NiAl-[SiW12O40]. The degradation percentage indicates that the LDH-polyoxometalate composite has succeeded in increasing the ability of photodegradation catalytic and the regeneration ability of LDH pristine.
