The most used current sensors are those based on Current Transformer (CT) that, in general, uses a ferromagnetic core and a coil around it in order to measure the primary-coil current by the secondary-coil induced voltage. To the best of our knowledge, all current sensors based on CT work on the undersaturation region of the ferromagnetic core material to take advantage of its quasi-linear feature, but limits its maximum operational current. In this paper, it is described a novel CT-based current sensor scheme that works on saturation region of a nanocrystalline core.","PeriodicalId":93508,"journal":{"name":"... Freire","doi":"10.1109/I2MTC.2017.7969771","DOIUrl":"https://doi.org/10.1109/I2MTC.2017.7969771","url":null,"abstract":"This paper presents a non-uniform sampling analog-to-digital converter (ADC) architecture using an adaptive level-crossing technique. The architecture can be dynamically configured through three parameters that allow the user to match the ADC to the signal to be acquired or to application constraints. When applied to sparse signals, this architecture outperforms uniform sampling architectures. In the case of an Electrocardiogram (ECG) signal, our architecture showed gains of up to 10 dB of signal to noise ratio (SNR) when considering the same number of samples of uniform sampling. When the same SNR is considered, our architecture allows reductions in excess of 50%. The architecture was implemented with FPGA and general purpose components, and showed a response time of about 200 μs, which could be further reduced in an integrated implementation.","PeriodicalId":93508,"journal":{"name":"... However, the image reconstruction in ECT is an ill-posed and nonlinear problem. In order to relieve the non-linearity of ECT system, this paper proposed a self-adapting Landweber (SAL) algorithm which use interelectrode capacitances as a prior information to select the optimal sensitive matrix in the database automatically. Typical flow patterns have been examined by simulated data and experimental data. And the results indicate that compared with conventional Landweber algorithm, this method can achieve reconstructed images with better quality, and the artifacts of the reconstructed images are reduced obviously.","PeriodicalId":93508,"journal":{"name":"... In order to evaluate degradation, thermal cycling application is one of the most used methods. In this work it is described a complete thermal-cycling testing platform of TEM that is capable of measuring parameters such as Seebeck coefficient (α), thermal conductivity (λ), Figure of Merit (ZT) and others in an automatic way. With measurements of rms voltage, active power and power factor, an intelligent algorithm is capable of define some system anomalies: failed lamps, power line theft, high and low voltage, and low power factor, this besides the typical measurements of power consumption. The algorithm is based on statistical inference and fuzzy logic to achieve fusion of measured data with the capability of adjusting the membership functions for different street lighting systems (different number of lamps and power consumption). The system with the above mentioned faults was simulated with the Monte Carlo method before its implementation in two real street lighting systems. The algorithm was implemented in a microcomputer Raspberry Pi B+ in Python language including tele-management capabilities.
