As a result, many of these student-athletes have to seek guidance and counseling at an early time in their collegiate career. The purpose of this conceptual paper is to indicate the warning signs and symptoms of disordered eating assist in understanding the classification of such symptoms and to discuss the preventative measures to be taken to reduce the risk of eating disorders. Strategies for improving and assessing the current well0being of students-athletes and the different types of disordered eating are discussed.","PeriodicalId":93216,"journal":{"name":"MOJ sports medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-29","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"47941142","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The International Classification of Functioning, Disability, and Health (ICF) is a classification system endorsed by the World Health Organization (WHO) since 2001. ICF brings a new paradigm by changing the focus on the consequences of the disease to highlight Functioning as a dynamic interaction between the biomedical and social model. Purpose: to conduct a brief description of ICF use in scientific movement of the ICF use in Rehabilitation. Methodology: The databases used were Medline, Scielo, Bireme, PEDro, and Scopus. The outcomes examined were ICF use and protocol, study design and expertise area. Results: 121 articles were included in this mapping. There was a predominance of ICF use in Neurology (n=52) and the most study design used was cross-sectional (n=55). Most of the studies used ICF to develop, validate or analyze functional assessments (n=52). Conclusion: the results indicate heterogeneity in the ICF diffusion in rehabilitation. The increase of ICF knowledge as a guiding model in Rehabilitation seems to be consolidating, however, intervention and longitudinal design studies still underrepresented. The ICF should be incorporated as a considerable framework to structure functional outcomes.","PeriodicalId":93216,"journal":{"name":"MOJ sports medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-11-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"46681310","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The volleyball player during the rally practice skills (serve, reception, set, attack, block, and defense) and the vision with quality is important during the actions of these skills. What the vision action during the practice of the volleyball skills? The objective of the review was to present the results on vision during the practice of the volleyball skills. Lenoir et al.,1 determined the reception performance in relation to the type of color ball. The best reception was with the red-blue-white ball. Then Lenoir et al.,1 informed that color ball is important for the volleyball player because the color ball has an effect in the perception of the player for detecting the ball speed. McPherson and Vickers1 determined the vision action of the volleyball player during the reception of the overhand float serve. The volleyball players practiced highest percent of gaze were directed to the ball (62%). The gaze behavior is important for the volleyball player because causes a serve anticipation of the player. Afonso et al.,2 determined eye-movement during the defense in the backcourt. Highly-skilled participants practiced more number of fixations (p≤0.03) and of number of fixations locations (p≤0.04) than the skilled participants during the defense in the backcourt. Perhaps this is one of the reasons for more success of the defense of the highly-skilled participants. Maldonado et al.,3 determined vision behavior of the block player during the actions of the setter. The block player practiced more fixations for the moment that the setter runs to the ball and starts the set with a value of 0.99±0.13. The visual behavior of the block player is important for the coach knows the places that the athlete sees more for a guide during the block training. In conclusion, more vision studies during the volleyball match are needed to evolution this type of research.","PeriodicalId":93216,"journal":{"name":"MOJ sports medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-21","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"43231287","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The objective of the review was of present the peripheral vision training structure. The peripheral vision training the coach can prescribe during the technical training, the game situational training and the game training, but the ideal for each type of training the use of the motor learning practices. Therefore, the coach guides the athlete in all exercises when practicing the skill with the peripheral vision training through of the head up. After 15 sessions of indoor soccer, the offensive quality was detected in the peripheral vision training group (PG) and of the traditional training (TG). Two-way ANOVA detected a statistical difference (p≤0,05) between the PG versus the TG. The PG was better during the start of the attack and development of the attack than the TG. But the TG was better during the finalization of the attack (FA) of the 1st shift and the PG was better during the FA of the 2nd shift. The indoor soccer with less offensive actions causes more goals during the match. The PG practiced less action during the attack (2 to 4 actions of attack) and the TG practiced more actions during the attack (2 to 6 actions of attack). In conclusion, peripheral vision training is very important for the performance of the soccer player.","PeriodicalId":93216,"journal":{"name":"MOJ sports medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-09-14","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"42812060","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}

The aim of the study is to evaluate and compare the external load of the professional player using GPS devices and to describe the speed run and power events in 6vs6 and 7vs7 SSG with external wildcard players. Methods: 14 professional soccer players Results: The study shows that values of average speed, average power and the power events number were statistically significant in 6vs6 versus 7vs7 (p<0.05); the low intensity (p<0.05) and moderate intensity travel volumes are higher in 6vs6, while the high intensity runs and the sprint number are clearly higher in 7vs7 (p<0.001). Conclusion: The results showed that the two SSG formats determine very different external workload in professional soccer players. The 7vs7 format shows a greater sprint number while the 6vs6 imposes average running speeds up to medium intensity but does not require, if not to a very small extent, high speed and sprint performance.","PeriodicalId":93216,"journal":{"name":"MOJ sports medicine","volume":" ","pages":""},"PeriodicalIF":0.0,"publicationDate":"2018-08-28","publicationTypes":"Journal Article","fieldsOfStudy":null,"isOpenAccess":false,"openAccessPdf":"","citationCount":null,"resultStr":null,"platform":"Semanticscholar","paperid":"44119806","PeriodicalName":null,"FirstCategoryId":null,"ListUrlMain":null,"RegionNum":0,"RegionCategory":"","ArticlePicture":[],"TitleCN":null,"AbstractTextCN":null,"PMCID":"","EPubDate":null,"PubModel":null,"JCR":null,"JCRName":null,"Score":null,"Total":0}
